This is such a beautiful project that I decided to make one for myself using the same color yarn, I’m about 3/4 done with it and can’t wait til it’s finished. I love how you mounted it on the wood.
Hi Helen I've left you a reply after my question after the first video, I'm in awe of how beautiful this is, magnificent, absolutely stunning, best regards Carol
I've never heard of this...mounting crochet 🤔🤔🤔 like a tapestry; makes sense. I don't know why this was never a consideration for the art that I had thought of before! It looks very beautiful! I hope to one day get to that skill level.
My grandmother use to crochet all the time. She would starch and lay to dry all of he work. She used a board that had small nailheads or brads to stretch it and shape it. She took good care of them all. It would work to hold that up and spread out. Just an idea for you or anyone who does this type for decor.. oh i love it. I am a big fan of color.
It turned out absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been waiting to see the finished project and you couldn’t have done a better job! It’s beautiful and the framing is perfect! 💖💖
My gosh, Rebecca, this is breathtaking! It truly is a work of art. Congratulations on finishing such a stunning piece. Can't wait for what's coming on Saturday.
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! I'm very envious. My walls are crying out for a piece this beautiful. 😊 I've purchased the Rosewater Cocktail to attempt something similar but I can't hope to wind up with anything as beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hi I love all of your designs. Thanks so much. I was wanting to crochet a semi circular shawl possibly the lotus flower or mandala design. Could you please do a tutorial on those 2 designs? Thanks.
STUNNING😍😍 I love the colors you chose its gorgeous I'm in love with it I'm hoping you'll do a video tutorial on how we can make one ourselves please 🙏🙏 pretty please with sugar on top 😋 sending you hugs from Canada 💖😘🇨🇦
This is beautiful. But it's the hardest pattern I've ever worked on. The Scheepjes is very thin like working with thread. This is what's so hard about it. I'm doing it, but I'm hoping it turns out half as nice as yours. Eager to make a baby blanket or scarf or something different out of the Scheepjes Whirl to see if it's any easier. I usually do like thin yarn. Maybe if the pattern wasn't so busy? Anyway, we will see how mine turns out.
Sorry if I missed it, but what size hook did you use? And yes, it is GORGEOUS! I have already order the yarn. I am going to use Blueberry Bambam colorway. A much more subtle blend of colors but I think it will still have enough contrast to be effective. Thank you for posting!
This is utterly stunning! I have a question for you, I hope you would answer for me please...in the pattern there's lots of colour changes, but when you used a colour changing yarn, did you still have to cut your yarn and reattach on the rounds where it tells you to? Thank you 😊
Hi Donna, I had to cut my yarn a lot and reattach as quite often the start of a row would be far away from where it finished, or you’d be starting with standing stitches. However, at times there were rows that flowed from one to the other at the same place, and for those I could keep my yarn attached 😊
Blossom Crochet Thank you for replying so soon. I didn't know if you had managed to work out something to stop you having to cut and reattach, because your work looks so flawless. I think I'm going make a start on one today. I have 6 mandalas in my stash and it's about time I used them lol 😊
I have a huge question. The yarn you used- is it worsted weight? I made a $50 mistake and bought some yarn from Wolltraum thinking their GORGEOUS yarn was worsted weight. I didn’t pay good enough attention. It said 4 ply so I thought it was what I wanted. As much as I do love it it was fingering yarn I’m looking for the yarn like yours. I want to use an H I or J hook. Uh I can’t with the fingering yarn. Can anyone help!!
Sorry...this is fingering weight yarn........if you bought fingering weight accidentally, if you have enough you can always hold two strands. This is similar to sport or worsted depending on the thickness of the yarn (I would err on the side of caution and say sport). If you want a yarn similar to this but in a different weight, look for gradient yarn. Red heart just released their new "it's a wrap" which is pretty similar and I believe sport or worsted. Lion brand also has one but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Maybe their shawl in a ball?
Also, you can use a larger hook with fingering weight! It makes a looser fabric with more drape. There's a video on here that talks about using a larger hook with scheepjes whirl to make a shawl (a virus shawl if I remember correctly)
Really upset with my first scheepjes whirl . It got yarn vomit. The inside was knotted when I reached the green . From then on it was knots and knots and a mess. I had to cut out big knots and tangles and rejoin. An expensive purchase for me when this happens .
I don’t think I’ve seen anything so beautiful in crocheting!!!!!!!!
That looks really gorgeous. The palette is gorgeous, the pattern is gorgeous, the entire thing is just gorgeous.

What did the final dimensions end up being on this project?
Hi, can I do a Mandela madness with scheepjes yarn? And how do I do that? I love your work. Have a nice day. 😊
Beautiful! What millimeter hook size did you use?
I'm about to attempt this with my first Whirl, I'm very nervous!
Lovely 💙
Oh, that is just gorgeous! I really wish I could afford that yarn! How's your healing coming along?
It’s still sore but getting better, thank you for asking 💗
Super gorg!!

That sounds like it will be gorgeous! I used a 3.5mm hook 💗
How many rounds did you actually make? Like which round did you end on?? Thnks!
I will have to count them! I'll get back to you on that...
Blossom Crochet thnks so much! Your piece is lovely. My Mom has asked me for years to make something like this for our home. 😉
Just beautiful,whoever dislike is wack.
