Maktao was my first adopted orphan with SWT, given to me as a birthday present. He is now on his way back to the African bush, where he belongs. Go well Maktao 💕🐘💕🐘💕
We adopted Kiombo right after he was rescued. It brings tears to my eyes to see him in Umani and thinking of the wonderful life he will have there. Thanks Sheldrick Trust for saving Kiombo and all the others.
"My" little baby Kiasa has graduated! I'm so proud but I am as much proud of her teachers who helped her from the day she was rescued! You guys are doing so much for the elephants, the ecosystem and in the end our own survival. Let us wish for a better coexistence where we humans let elephants and other wild animals live their life as they want in freedom as we are quick to point out our own freedom. 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪
@@benk7864 A great gift. 1th of January for two years in a row I've gifted my mum with the elephant Roho, my sister with Kiko the giraffe and my brother with Apollo the rhino. I hope they feel like you do. They probably get there same gift the next 1th of January of I can afford it. I also have the blind rhino Maxwell in my "stable"😁. We got one of the right ones. Kiasas personality is great. 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪
Hello my dear friend, I am Carinne, an elephant lover from Singapore, I love elephants so much. 😊 I have been watching your videos. 💜 This touched my heart so much. 💜🌸
So proud of the three! It must be such a rewarding (and bittersweet) moment for the keepers to send off their grown babies to the next stage of their journey. Maktao and Kiombo will be spoiled in Umani and I’m sure Kiasa will learn so much from the older girls!
Such a delight to see the babies having a heartwarming greeting from the older ellys at Unami Springs. Uplifting for everyone after losing precious Luggard. 🐘💚🤍🕊
So gracefully the team do the job of shifting the ellies with ease and the ellies also are cooperative to them. No mess, every job handled maturely. Great
Your videos are balm for a broken world. It is heartbreaking to recognize that each one of these beautiful creatures represents a mother who was killed. If that can be healed, it's only because of you
It looks like the local cuisine meets with the approval and then some, lol. Much thanks to Ms. Angela for carrying on her mother’s legacy and having the capable hands to do so.
It blows me away how the infant mortality rate in Kenya is absolutely horrible for this day and age , yet no expense is spared mostly by wealthy white people from Europe or the US on saving these baby elephants. I wonder why we turn our backs to the needs of the human children in this country who also have been orphaned and tramautized like it doesn't matter, but God forbid anything happens to one of these beasts? Are we really living in a reality where the lives of animals is of more importance than human beings? It's absolutely disgusting but the numbers don't lie, and it's shameful.
I can watch this over and over. I love the rumbles and trumpets. SWT, you're all amazing angels. This trio 🐘🐘🐘 are one step further to living wild. My heart is smiling. 🌟💖💕

It must be traumatic for these babies to be moved no matter how careful they are. It was nice that they were greeted with a bottle and they have each other to rely on. Yes, I’m sure the sad, sad loss of Luggard weighs heavy on everyone’s heart, I know it does on mine. It looks like a very nice place that they have been moved to. The caregivers seem to be very good at what they do.
It might help you to know that they had two keepers that moved with them and they already have a friend from the nursery there. Enkesha only graduated to Umani last year, so all four have grown up together! ♥️
What a wonderful day for all involved. These 3 babies will have a lot of love and support. Thank you for all you do in giving these orphans a second chance at life ❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤

It must be perhaps the most emotionally staggering moment to watch, and hear, the HERD welcome their beloved new family. What an achievement . ELEPHANT: MOTHER NATURE'S GRAND PRIZE!
So bittersweet, I’ll miss seeing them in the nursery milk feed videos. Hearing stories of “uncle” Maktao being protective, Kiombos sizing up bull games and Kiasa being a naughty little rascal 😊! I’m sure all of the Umani Springs herd will 💗 them. God bless you all!!
I tried to see if I could spot the exact moment when they saw Enkesha, but I couldn't tell. However, in the video you can see her reunited with them and they hung out near her several times during the day. I'm so happy for them all! That little herd, like the rest of us, won't ever get over losing Luggard, but this is the first step back to remembering life is full of joy too. ♥️🐘🐘🐘
Thank you for this information. Luggard is my foster baby. I have been so upset and I haven't been able to read the keeper's diaries. Would you please let me know if you know- How is Murera, Lima Lima and Sonje doing?
@Deborah Thunderchild I sure will pass on anything I hear. I'm in the same boat you're in, I was devastated too by the loss of Luggard and I couldn't read or talk about it for weeks. My babies are now just Ziwadi and Rama but of course Luggard will always remain in my herd forever too. The only post that dealt with the big girls that I saw was a video of them that SWT put on Instagram a few days after he died. If you haven't seen it, you may want to wait until you feel stronger before looking it up though, they were having a hard time. I wish I hadn't watched it to be honest, but I also know that those kind of updates help other people, so it just really depends on how an individual reacts I guess. I'm afraid I haven't read my Keepers Diaries for May either though so I can't help you there, it's possible I may never read them. But like I said, if I see a post about them finding joy and carrying on, I'll absolutely pass it on. Hang in there, sending you a hug from St. Louis, MO. ♥️

Our world is so sad and so stupid. Bless everyone for the work you r doing to save our elephants. They are a world treasure.
That's Enkesha, she was caught in an awful snare. It's how she became orphaned and why she was rescued. The doctors did stitch it back together, but because of the amount of muscles in the trunk, it wouldn't stay closed. However the good news is, because of those same muscles, she can close it up when sucking up water and can spray it into her mouth just like everyone else. She has adapted and is living a perfectly normal life! ♥️🐘
