Will my Peace Lily survive the transfer from soil to water?

- Not too long ago, I purchased a Peace Lily Sensation for only $15 at Aldi's! She is so beautiful. For a while now, I have been wanting to grow a peace lily in water and in my fish tank.
So I will be removing her from soil and transferring her to water and the smaller pieces will be going in my 20 gallon fish tank!

No need for Fish Emulsion fertilizer if you have a fish tank. The Madagascar Dragon Tree beside Gustavo's tank is always trying to drip a leaf in his water. Constantly turning the plant. Leaves high above the tank but within two hours swimming in the tank with Gustavo. He doesn't seem to mind. Fish tank water is great for plants. Back when I had two 55 gallon tanks I considered selling it at each water change.
Your video brought back memories of my Miami Peace Lily. I didn't take heed in the beginning. Didn't listen to all the clues she was giving me. Got down to one leaf.
Hallelujah! That leaf produced a new generation and now it is growing healthy from a baby plant. So Beautiful 😍 I think it is the Peace Lily Sensation. The leaves were so big like your plant.

@ sold my aquariums on Craigslist in 2018. The water changes were killing me. First I sold the fish, cichlids in one tank and regular community fish other tank with 22 bettas. I don't have any tanks now. Gustavo is using a large storage container. He was an unexpected pregnancy 😳. Didn't want him at all. He was gifted to me in October and I agreed to keep him with the understanding he would live happily ever after without a fish tank. Simple water swaps now with no chemicals. My 5 parakeets pretty much take care of themselves and Gustavo is pretty much on his own expect timed feedings.
The plants take up soooooooooooooooo much time. But it a love thang! ❤️

I'm excited and nervous. She has lost a few more leaves since the transition from the cuttings in the vase but the ones in my fish tank are thriving. smh. go figure lol.
@ I read that it is normal for them to have a time when they lose leaves. I don't think that is a bad thing. Please share an update on her soon....

I rescued a tired small one the Lowes clearance rack yesterday. I put her in water. I'll peroxide today. I hope she makes it. This morning she's still droopy🥲

Thank you for documenting this! I have moved 4 peace lilies to water successfully. One was super dramatic for a while until it finally perked up. They grow so well in water. I get new growth right away. I just bought this giant peace lily and I already have a large glass vase I can move it to. I was just wondering how a larger size plant will do for the process. Getting the dirt off the roots is a task!!!!! But soooooooo worth it.

Mine perked up after I moved her to water, gave me the first flower in YEARS, and is now all droopy and dramatic. Nothing changed, I don't know what to do!

Girrrrrrl so technically the peace lily is still alive. Lol. But it didn’t do too great and I do blame it on myself. I had multiple trips I went on after this, and I wasn’t changing out the water as often as I should so it did lose a lot of leaves. However, there are still three big ones and some baby ones coming. The roots are actually doing pretty good. So I’m still hoping for a big comeback!
I did the same thing and tried so many things to keep from getting brown leaves its not my humidity because it's always 60 to 65 in my plant room struggle is real with peace lilly for me also sis thanks for sharing
Ugh the struggle!! Same no matter what, I always get brown and yellow tips. But I can’t stop buying them 😫
I think I might try this. My parents have a couple abandoned in the backyard. You should’ve bought that glass though 😭

Hello!! Thank you. And you should totally did it. Mine lost a lot of leaves couple months in then she started growing them back and wa a doing so well. Then I went out of town and wasn’t keeping up on her water changes and she ended up rotting unfortunately
What's the update on this plant? I have a small one and its leaves are yellowing in soil. I think I'm going to switch to water to hopefully save it.

Is your fish tank hard to clean with all of the plants in it?
It actually isn’t which I’m happy about because I thought it would be. I only wipe the algae from the front and elabe the sides alone so my pleco and shrimp can snack on that. I barely do maintenance on it because of all the plants o have in there with the sponge filter. It all works so well together!

Yes! I did lose some leaves but also gained some and she’s full again. I’ll be posting a video on it!
