I feel like that is the classic "Gon Experience" in that you tell him things or someone tries to force him into something and he's just like "But I wanna do this" or "No I'm not doing that", a stand your ground child mindset.
As a T3 paraplegic since just before my 2nd birthday, I've been used so often as a way to get through crowds that it stopped bothering me. The people who grab my handlebars behind me though? Super annoying. Especially when they hold on and stop my forward momentum. Then there are the idiots who slip right in front of you and then get their heels clipped up and flat tired by your footrest and then give YOU a dirty look like they didn't bring that on themselves. Smh. I don't miss having to deal with them
Hunter X Hunter does do some unique things with Nen but the basic idea of how a person's aura works and even activating someone else's with your own is something I think is present in a lot of Asian fantasy. I think it's most common/originates from Chinese fantasy.
Pretty much the only big Jump series that didn't need to augment and expand it's system. (Though from what I know of Kubo, I would believe it if he said that Bleach's details were always planned; the "show don't tell" is so strong there, you can go the whole series without stopping to think how basic damage works.)
@@TheArcSet The problem with Bleach is that the characters don't know their own system, and the one that do either explain it in a poorly done way or intentionnaly lie, which leaves the reader on a wild goose chase to know who lies, what is that character trying to say and what does this all mean?
"Can you challenge" not really, but you can register on the same day as someone, and on top of that there's not many people stupid enough to register on the same day as Hisoka (assuming he broadcast his date which if he wants an exclusive fight he probably does) so it's probably not hard to be the only available candidate against Hisoka. There are almost 180 fighters and 90 days prep max (but some people are sure to be more eager than that) so that pretty much guarantees there's always someone registered on the same day, plus there's the people like Gon who just check the "whenever" box.
The thing where people walk behind you to get through a crowd never bothered me because I do the same thing with the people who can walk when I notice a good break in the wall. I've never had somebody unintentionally grab my chair while trying to go around me.
Honestly, the world of Hunter X Hunter is so fleshed out and vibrant that I still question why Togashi hasn't released a Hunter X Hunter tabletop RPG setting series for it.
It always baffles me when I see someone just messing with a wheelchair with someone in it. Like, I wouldn't be putting my hands on a regular chair someone was sitting in unless I had to and that chair is like someone's legs in a lot of cases. That does mean it's a bit awkward in the instances where someone in a chair is positioned so that I literally can't get around them without touching it but that's rare.
Years ago I was part of a seminar once where we among other things did a little experiment where one of us would be using a wheelchair for an entire day and we were mainly just supposed to see what kind of reactions we'd get from other people while just going about our day as usual and it was baffling how often people would be touching the weelchair trying to help us in some way without us even asking.
It's often very obvious in context that any given two people are strangers: for instance entering a place of business at separate times and having zero interaction save for when one is inconvenienced by the other@@alan62036
I've actually explained Aura from RWBY as "Like a very simplified version of Nen from HxH" to people a lot, funny enough. Like, Aura doesn't go into levels of detail like "the Aura spills out from pores in your body" and stuff, but the basic ideas are both there, right down to the most basic and common-place use being to both hit with superhuman force and survive attacks with superhuman force.
@@jamesstutz6907 Was there any point in my comment where I claimed one was better than the other? Besides, even though Nen is incredibly well-crafted and masterfully utilized by Togashi, that's still subjective; some people probably prefer a power system that doesn't have several different categories and a relationship chart you need to memorize to understand it.
Putting your hand on someone’s wheelchair to squeeze by behind them is like putting your hand around someone’s waist to squeeze by behind them. Wheelchairs are extensions of someone body, don’t touch them without their consent!! I don’t use a wheelchair so I don’t know all that people go through but I’ve heard stories about people pushing someone’s wheelchair to move them out of the way so they can get by! Imagine if they did that to someone who wasn’t in a wheel chair! That’s so rude!

It makes sense why wing was so hesitant to teach the boys but is so willing with zushi. Cause Zushi can FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

To be more specific, it ultimately derives from concepts in Chinese *religion.*
I really like how none of the rules about Nen ever get broken even after 100 episodes

2:50 You know that comparison to unlocking aura in RWBY actually is similar I never noticed that nice call!
I love how in any other series, getting to the top would be the goal, but for Gon and Killua they're just like "Nah, I'm good."
I just really hope she remembers these nen abilities for later in the series. I would love to hear her thoughts on them in about 50-100 episodes.

Yeah just grabbing someone's wheelchair sounds so rude, it's like grabbing someone by the shoulder to yank them out of your way, that just ain't cool
How do you know that the two people don't know each other?
@@alan62036 cause of the amount of wheelchair users who have talked about strangers just grabbing them and moving them

The blue-haired woman explaining Gon and Killua the system is voiced by Han Megumi, Gon‘s seiyuu.
After they finish this arc, the two of you should definitely do a nen personality test, it would be fun to see what type you would have.
Alicia would definitely be an enhancer.
Which one though? Most I've seen are dogshit

The Aura usage in Hunter x Hunter is far superior than RWBY.

The red guy looks like a sniffet from super Mario
Monty Oum was inspired by many things. A lot of RWBY is based on Final fantasy 6, with the whole gunblades and school that hunts monsters

NEW HXH REACTION DROPPED FOR THE BROKIES LETS GO!!!
Let's hear it for my fellow brokies
The writers for RWBY did say a lot of influence came from Hunter X Hunter in an interview. Including Yangs eye's going red.
ah yes the quick method, the greatest boon, and bane for the characters in the story.
Here for my daily dose of cute beans reacting to cute beans.
Oh man, when people do that walking behind the wheelchair I just slow down. lol
Best power system in fiction. period
rwby aura really is Nen-lite
The way they dont realize that gon is just a tiny hisoka
Seriously Hisoka take 20 percent off your excitement over Gon’s progress 😂😂😂
Honestly, tell us more about what not to do when people in wheelchairs are around.
Cause personally, I really don't wanna be that guy 💀
Just treat it like part of their body and act accordingly
