What is YOUR BEST TEAM?? Tell us below!
same as yours early on but then I usually swap out breloom for a combo of heracross and shiftry, as well as ditching swellow for dodrio, never bother with tentacruel, and then opt for walrein over glalie. So final game ends up being Swampert, Shiftry, Magneton, Heracross, Dodrio, Walrein. It's got some common weaknesses but they don't really prove problematic.
Mudkip with Surf Earthquake Ice Beam and Protect
Shiftry with Giga Drain Faint Attack Fake Out and Extrasensory
Swellow with Facade Ariel Ace Endeavor and Fly
Manectric with Bite Thunderbolt Thunder Wave and Double Team
Camerupt with Flamethrower Earthquake Rock Slide and Eruption
Armaldo with Ancient Power Slash Fury Cutter and Dragon Claw
My current team is swampert wobufet swellow evolution of gulpin (I forgor) and...sabeleye???
Starmie, magneton, sceptile, aggron
They can clear the e4 and rest of the game with ease. Level 46 starmie with ice beam will take out Salamanca, Altria, and flygon like a knife through butter.
Blaziken
Exploud
Tropius
Flygon
Tentacruel
Haryama
I really appreciate the love for Breloom and Glalie. Along with those two, my go to Emerald team includes: Sceptile, Flygon, Crawdaunt, and Torkoal
That’s a nice roster!
+1 for crawdaunt, I used that in my very first playthrough
Interesting team. My favorite team so far for Emerald that I have used is:
1. Swampert
2. Salamance
3. Claydol
4. Manectric
5. Hariyama
6. HM slave
Blacken is absolutely overpowered as well and loved doing playthroughs with him.
this is a good team 🔥
Even though you have and need an HM slave, you can still train a 6th team member for your battle squad. I would add either a fire/ice/or grass type to fill in a hole. Also, Salamance is very late game, so for play-through purposes, use Swellow/Skarmory
A surprise entry should be Sandslash, which peaked in Gen III.
It's ability ups its evasion in a sandstorm, so couple the move Sandstorm, with Sand-attack, and Dig, and it's damn near impossible to land a hit on it, making it a decent strategic addition to your team, as long as you can set up sandstorm.
Sandslash is a good choice
This is a really good team - did NOT expect Glalie
You can use Walrein too!
Hm. Not bad. For me:
-Swampert
-Flygon (usually swap for Bagon and grind or Mance*)
-Walrein (If i want, i swap for Regice just cause i like Regis*)
-Breloom
-Aggron
-Manectric
That’s a pretty solid team
@@pokerebels thanks!
I use Manectric in like every play through. He's just so cool and is a solid overall Pokemon.
Grass
Ice
Flying
Fighting/Ground
You like those 4x weaknesses
Blaziken: Blaze Kick
- Sky Uppercut / Brick Break
- Rock Tomb / Rock Smash
- Bulk Up
Swellow: Fly, Aerial Ace, Return, Steel Wing/Facade
Gardevoir: Psychic (STAB)
Thunderbolt (STAB)
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Altaria: Fly, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Dragon Dance/Dragonbreath/Ice Beam
Ludicolo
Ability: Swift Swim / Rain Dish (former preferred for In-Game)
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Giga Drain
- Rain Dance
Breloom
Hasty Nature
- Mach Punch (lvl 23)
- Sky Uppercut (lvl 36)
- Giga Drain (TM)
- Leech Seed (lvl 10)
Manectric: Thunder Wave (lvl 4)
- Thunderbolt (TM)
- Bite (lvl 39)
- Hidden Power (If you have a good type, otherwise got with Thunder (TM))
Salamence
Modest or Timid Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Flamethrower
- Rest
- Crunch
lets goooo thats a nice moveset!
My Blaziken:
- Aerial Ace
- Blaze Kick
- Slash
- Sky Uppercut
Starting out with my Torchic, the first thing I do is ignore all the Poochyena trying to join my team and fill all slots with Zigzagoon to eliminate any need to go shopping.
Before I say hi to Dad, I catch a trace Ralts. (S)He helps with travel and catching Pokémon with the correct abilities. Here, I'll also catch a Seedot or another Ralts to trade for DOTS
After saying bye to Dad, I'll catch a Tailow for Facade/Guts Swellow which I alternately exchange with Crobat and Flygon for their frequent flyer miles. Then I goad some rich kid into making me his rival. (Hey, protein costs money)
Nincada isn't a serious team member but it's the next Mon of note. With its Speed Boost ability after evolving, DoubleTeam and Swords Dance make it a fun Baton Passer. (Darn you Swift, ShockWave and Faint Attack!!)
Picking up Zubat and Rock Head Aron as potential team members before one dimensional champion decides to become my stalker (complete with presents)
Might pick up a Static Electrike before tricking some self-proclaimed genius
Hmmm, this Slugma is so warm! I bet I can cook eggs with it.
I still think I'm seeing things, but at least my eyes don't hurt anymore with these goggles! That TRAP took me an INCH from my life. Wonder if I can get anything from this Claw Fossil? It's not a doll, it's an action figure.
Feels like a nice day for fishing. Is that a shark?! Carvana
I ain't afraid of no one- eyed ghost, but I'm going to go catch a Wailmer first.
Well this legend is over but if i train up this Bagon, think Nicholas will give me a cape as cool as his?
**Blazekin - Double Kick, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Slash
**Gardevoir - Psychic, Thunderbolt, Shadowball, Thief
**Shiftry - Grass STAB or Nature Power, Faint Attack, Extrasensory, Brick Break
**Flygon - Fly, Dig, Dragon Claw, Flamethrower or Faint Attack
**Sharpedo- Surf, Crunch, Waterfall, Slash
**Armaldo - Rock Blast (or Ancient Power), Metal Claw, Water Pulse, Aeriel Ace
okay come through with there breakdown. The zubat as a potential pick up is interesting
@pokerebels Crobat was a high level Mon in Gen 3 and one of the best Flyers even into the DS games. It would take the place of Flygon, necessitating a revamp of the bottom 4 team members.
Zigzagoon pickup is a cool strategy I haven't considered before
@petermarion1935 gen 3 pickup is overpowered. I think Game Freak regulated it so your pickup Mon had to be higher level to do they good stuff. Ziggy gives me ultra balls before I can buy great balls
Emerald team will forever be incomplete without milotic 🤣🤣🤣
Milotic has to be easier to get
@@pokerebelsyeah it can be obtained before the starter
@@OldOrca how?
@@morrie4489 sarcasm
Swampert might be the best starter, but Blaziken has a special place in my heart.
So my best team is:
- Blaziken (quite fast and hits hard both physical and special)
- Swellow (FACADE)
- Gardevoir (Kadabra might be better stat wise, but i like how Kirlia learns psychic and calm mind on early level, plus kadabra can't learn thunderbolt)
- Geodude -> Flygon (Geodude is for Watson, then I replace it to Flygon cause it's faster)
- Tentacruel (Starmie is a bit late game)
- Sharpedo (need Crunch more than the water typing... but since there is so much water HM move, Sharpedo fits in my team)
that's a really great team and nice strat explanation!
My favourite main team that I used and was undefeated one time was. Swampert, Breloom, Manectric, Gardevoir, Swellow and Camerupt. This is the team that helped me tho the run, and it is pure Hoenn pokemon too. But your team is very interesting.
That’s a pretty nice team as well!
@@pokerebels thanks.
Soooo underrated because of the quality i thought this is a big company but very nice
appreciate this 🙏🏽 thank you
An interesting team I have in mind is:
Swampert (by far the best starter)
Ninjask (a swords dance baton passer)
Hariyama (a strong fighting type)
Flygon (has great stats and gets great coverage)
Magneton (much better electric type than manectric)
Absol (strong dark type)
that sounds like a great team to nuzlocke with!
@@pokerebels Yes indeed it does. I think I make teams based on nuzlockes a bit too much tho. I’m probably not the greatest at making in game teams.
Add Double Team to your Ninjask baton passer
Fun fact: both Ninjask and Flygon (along with Charizard) can Dig while not getting criticalled by Earthquake/Magnitude but Ninjask can't Fly
Blaziken, Breloom, flygon, Ralts, Corphish, swellow.
ooooo nice team
@@pokerebels this video made me start emerald over today so thank you!
swampy, aggron, tailow, walrain, rayquaza, tentacruel
yoooo that's a good team
I love how Pokemon did a Berserk reference with "Guts" ability
🔥
great video! will for sure have to try this team out on my next playthrough!
Thank you 🙏🏽 definitely do!
I know Guts Swellow is bonkers but it's a pain in the ass to setup all the time since we don't have Fire Orb or Toxic Orb and Emerald really isn't that hard so I'm taking Crowbat all day as my flyer.
Also Hyper Beam Slaking is the best non legendary imo as you can swap it out after you beat a pokemon negating the recharge turn. In my latest playthrough it one shot most Elite Four pokemon even under leveled a bit.
that slaking Strat is a really good one
This makes me wonder if Breloom really is this beast
Breloom is so gooood
@@pokerebels dang it you’re telling me this after I just spent a few hours leveling up my Hariyama named Bop lol. Now I’m gonna swap lol
The best Breloom is the one with spore. You have to level up shroomish until level 54, it learns spore at that level, then let it evolve. Let it remember mach punch then teach focus punch (insane damage, and spore has 100% accuracy)
@@mattialonghin_mr.l857thanks
@@mattialonghin_mr.l857 maybe it's no need to go 54 level. But only in Falarbor town with one heart scale and give it to move tutor. I think move tutor sometimes can learn moves who pokemon learn in the future not only moves who forgotten.
Tentacruell is such an underrated Pokémon from red all the way through emarald, including firered and leafgreen. Also abra is amazing if you run into him
yes for real!
Tentacool is underrated due to its nickname "zubat of the sea" and Crobat unironically, is also an underrated Pokémon alongside Tentacruel. I would say he is every bit as good for a water type as Blastoise tbh.
Level 53 I feel is very high for the elite 4 in emerald. don’t think I ever got my team there without grinding
What level on average was your team by that point?
@@pokerebelshigh 30s would be my earliest unless I'm just enjoying exploring the region
High 30s!? Unreal, with what team?
Gardevoir with Calm Mind/Psychic/Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball is a must!
Such a great combo!
Fun fact - each of those moves can't hit one type, but no Pokémon is immune to all 3 moves (and Gardevoir hits this moves like a truck)
The bad thing is that Shadow ball was a physical move in gen 3 and gardevoir has awful attack stat😞
@@takitsan79only reason to use shadow ball is for typing other than it it calm mind + pyshic kills everything
I swear, if you start with Mudkip, I'm stopping the video
😭 don’t spoil it
@@pokerebels every poketuber uses mudkip and he's NOT the best choice
@@benengle9621who is? I just started a new emerald playthrough
@quarter6858 Blaziken is clearly the best, most useful in the endgame. Mudkip should be better labeled easy mode for the beginning, but he's a glorified HM mule by the end. Septile is fun for catching if you teach him False Swipe. There's 400+ Pokémon in the national dex in Gen 3. I don't think Mudkip needs to star in everyone's BEST team. For example, Pokétubers are nearly universally harsh toward Shiftry. Shiftry is the first Pokémon where I discovered my favored triangle offense [Faint Attack, Extrasensory, Brick Break]. I'd laugh my butt off watching my dark type destroy a fighting type with this powerful 30pp Psychic type move with a funny animation. I almost never used the grass STAB (Solar Beam, Razorleaf, or Giga Drain) so might I suggest using Nature Power if you try this.
Anyway, after having so much fun discovering my Shiftry, I looked for other triangle offenses to build, and that's how I still play today
@@quarter6858 who did you pick?
Beat the entire game with only 4 pokemon. Swampert, Crobat, Magneton, Breloom.
Honestly not surprised - that’s a good team
Great team but instead of Glalie should of gotten a Gardevoir for perfect type coverage
Oooo that would have been interesting
Great video man. Your edits are also fantastic. I can't wait to check out all of your uploads. 💪🏽
Thank you 🙏🏽
Swapmert
Swallow
Brellom
Tentacruel
Magneton
Glalie
You know it 🔥🔥🔥
I'm boutta speedrun getting gardevoir
Go for it!!
My strategy has always been for lvl100 Rayquaza to one shot everyone in Final Four lol
😳 well that's one way to do it
😂😂😂
For reference:
Swampert, Taillow, Breloom, Tentacruel, Magnemite, Glalie
the squaddd TLDR
What moves for each one tho? I can't find which moves he used. 😭
Despite liking Tentacruel, I would never pick one. Sure it looks cool but... also Glalie has pitiful stats, it will not help much against the ghosts in Elite 4 using Crunch. I would definitely pick Alakazam, Heracross, Machamp, Starmie with 4 attacking moves and the 2 remaining could be anything.
I've used figting type against the ice elite four
And the dragon guy you can count on Starmie.
The problem really is the ghost girl which has no obvious answer 🤔
In my experience a well trained Starmie will be the MVP of your team
> excluding here the use of Salamence or Metagross
Starmie is ALWAYS the way
Swampert, Pelipper, Tentacruel, Crawdaunt, Sharpedo, Wailord
That's a pretty cool team set!
pokemon ruby is my favourite game (along side pokemon platinum) and i’m so happy u included swellow because it’s my favourite in gen 3!!
i’ll 100% be trying this team
yessss hoping it works out for you!
Gardevoir and Flygon deserve a mention for alternative choices
they are some good mons!
basically solo'd ruby with swords dance, return, shadow ball zangoose
Swords Dance is heavy underrated
In every generation i prefer to build a team with regional pokemon in every case. So my team consists of
1.swampert
2.gardevoir
3.swellow
4.aggron
5.flygon
6.manectric
Done🎉
ayeee that's a good team
I really love this series of Pokémon games from the gen 4 era till this day I am trying to recover all my lost gems I am missing Pokémon Ruby to complete my set
i really hope you find it!
The annoying thing about gen 3 was having the effects introduced and it seems like majority had a static ability.
the static abilities yes!
My three teams: (3 different save files on different cartridges)
Ruby:
Blaziken
Gardevoir
Tentacruel
Shiftry
Flygon
Linoone
Emerald:
Swampert
Gardevoir
Breelom
Salamence
Torkoal
Aggron
Sapphire:
Sceptile
Gardevoir
Camerupt
Hariyama
Altaria
Crawdaunt
Yes, I have Gardevoir on all my teams 😂. I always spend a half hour looking for a Ralts at the start of every save, it's one of my favorite gen 3 Pokémon
When I'm done I'll migrate all the teams to my Pearl save file: there, my team is
Infernape
Luxray
Roserade
Staraptor
Alakazam
Floatzel
I just love the idea of you keeping the same team through the generations
My team
1 Blaziken/ Type: Fire/Fighting
2 Swellow/Type: Normal/Flying
3 Shaperdo/Type:Water/Dark
4 Haridama/Type:Fighting
5 Manetric/Type:Electric
6 Aggron/Type:Steel/Rock
sheesh what a team - didn't expect Sharpedo
My team consists of
*Swampert*
*Flygon*
*Gardevoir*
*Crobat* and
*Breloom*
Can you guys help me out on what should be the 6th member . I thought about adding an *Electrike* but I can just teach Thunderbolt to Gardevoir
gotta go fast
You may want to consider adding a more defensive pokemon like Aggron or Camerupt. You can also never go wrong adding a pure normal type like Exploud. I *would* recommend Slaking if it weren't for that traunt drawback.
@@ShadowFiend777 Thanks bro I Just completed the Playthrough . *Aggron* was really helpful and adding *Slaking* was always at the back of my mind
3:14 Just one question... How do you get a tentacool without surf?
Old rod outside of dewford
I still remember my main team for emerald
Sceptile
Gardevoir
Pelipper
Breloom
Manetric
Linoone as hm mon

This is the team I’m currently trying to build:
Swampert
Slaking
Vileplume
Alteria
Dusclops
Aggron
Would love some input since I haven’t played in about a decade
thats quite a team 🔥 curious as to why no fire types
aggron, dusclops, and vileplume are some of my favorite pokes

Blaziken, Skarmory, chlorophyll Vileplume, Whiscash, Lunatone/Solrock, Jolteon. I'm cooking Steven & Wallace.

What about the movement's type classes? A lot of people don´t consider it for the 3rd generation. For example breloom, grass type is a special attack movement and breloom is good in his attack´s statistics.
that's an interesting point
I use Breloom for it's utility. Leech seed and sleep powder.
Headbutt and sky uppercut for for damage.
It donr matter the starter thats why you have five other pokemon its all up to you if you train your pokemon well your team should have a counter pokemon for any battle

Hi, how do you have both Giga Drain and Mach Punch on Breloom?
what do you mean
Im surprise what pokemon u choose in emerald version... as far i know... ruby and sapphire can be different team u pick. Base of my experience of pokemons..
For emerald version it dont matter which starter u choose.. other pokemons can help u beat gym leader first 3 badges.
that speaks to your skill! You can beat those gyms no matter who you choose
My team is always pretty much the same
1. Sceptile(grass type with bug type moves)
2.Pelipper(flying water type that can also get steel wing)
3. Gardevoir(psychic fairy type)
4. Hariyama(fighting type that can get a few dark type moves with TMs)
5. Manectric(electric type)
6. Camerupt(ground and fire type)
Generally have to over level because 1 of them will be taking on each gym solo but it makes me happy

ooo thats a nice team
How do you level up so quickly?

Is it only me who chose to go with torchick just becauce blaziken is cool
Blaziken definitely looks good
I perfer ralts and gardevoir with calm mind thunderbolt phycic and shadow ball. Thunderbolt can almost sweep wallace, sweeps gloria with three calm mind setups and takes care of almost every poison, water, and ghost types. Srsly op once 2 or 3 calm minds are set up at the start
I used swampert ice beam dive surf and earthquake, breloom sky uppercut substitute gigadrain and leech seed, gardevoir phycic calm mind thunderbolt and shadow ball, mawille baton pass double team iron defense and crunch, then banette with shadow ball, curse, willow wisp, and feint attack, then salamance with fly flamethrower iron tail and dragon claw. Personally had no trouble beating elite 4 and champion as all lvl 50s leading with mawille and setting up double teams and iron defenses
That’s a beautiful move set and yes with the calm mind setup!

Gen 3 stil link type move to physical or special, thats y i usually dont choose mudkip as its special stats is not impressive, and is slow... blaziken the better choice...
electric magnetrike is the faster option then magneton...
gardevoir is a must, the rest is really pick depending of situation...
ice type need one though...
blaze is a solid choice!
Magneton has the incredible steel type for more defensive use, the magnetite line actually has the most resistant type combination possible with a whopping 11&12 resistances depending on the gen
Blaziken is much worse than swampert. Manectric is much much worse than magneton.
@jimtsap04 11 & 12 resistances don't mean much when its 2 or 3 weaknesses are some of the most popular move types
I just pick the guys i think look cool and grind them out until i can sweep everything. To hell with strategy. Level is better.

Homie your approach is so frustrating, youre playing emerald, just say "best team for emerald" and then pick up ray before wallace like a normal person. Theres a reason when we speedrun the hoenn games we pick up the box legendary. If the goal is to help casual players finish the story with ease, you should take the concept of version exclusives into consideration
you make an interesting point with the version exclusives, but I think making it clear which game we specify in the video makes more sense
