Modding is surprisingly easy. Crafty has put an insane amount of time and effort into mods, and it shows. it’s a very very good product with a lot of time put it. However making the multiplayer mod is still so so so so much easier than making SMO from scratch.

After all this time watching SMO speedruns, I got so used to Mario with the captain hat that he seems fake with the normal red hat.
Well, crafty has his work cut out for himself if he starts it off with de-coupled entrance randomizer.
The logic for these to make them softlock-free will be horrible to create. I guess coupled entrances would be easier for starters =.=

I have genuinely been thinking about doing a similar mod for randomizing loading zones in Pokemon for years now ever since I saw a randomizer playthrough.
Now that I have actual technical knowledge, I promise - ON GOD - that I'll make such a mod by year's end.

Did you notice that when you go to a sub-area in a Kingdom different from the Kingdom you were just in, technically it still counts as you being in the Kingdom you were in before? For example: You were in Bowser's Kingdom and entered the shop, and it took you to a Luncheon Kingdom sub-area, but technically you were still in Bowser's Kingdom as the Bowser's Kingdom moon counter and purple coin logo stayed as the Bowser's Kingdom purple coins, even though it should've been the Luncheon Kingdom moon counter and Luncheon Kingdom purple coin logo.

I dont know how possible this is, but it would be really cool if all moons are randomised and each time you pick up a moon it sends you to the kingdom/subarea its from. So kinda crisscrossing the randomisation between moons and loadzones

it hurts my brain that there are different loading zones for different scenarios and that there are sub areas that have a loading zone forward and back out that you would want to revisit if you were looking for a specific place.

The reason the power moons were randomized was because, all power moons came together, but since the power was too strong they all exploded and landed randomly.

So I have an idea for a randomizer. Remove all moon positions and then only randomize the amount of moons requiert to complete the game. so when there is a chest, where a moon should be, your only gonna get coins.
