I have no sympathy for the club. Time and time again we've sold players and we never found any replacement for them. This all started way back when we never had a replacement for Fernandinho which has led us to have no CDM apart from Rodri. All our good YA are doing well across Europe rn when those guys could've been with us
AHSAN hits it on the head! That's the same thing I've been saying now for 18 months and it's so hard to take especially after winning everything for so long now. But the writing was on the wall for anybody who has a understanding of football, leadership and understands human behavior to see the massive Elephant in the room. We've been carrying old players and selling good young players and buying players who are somewhat OK but not fantastic. We need to regroup and aim for Top 4 and go far in the FA Cup. We need to buy a couple of players in Jan and then bring in more players during the summer if we're going to compete at the highest level once again.
Loved this discussion, both give great insight. However, if you could somehow sync the volume levels between the both of you that would be great for next time. Steven's audio is so much louder lol... CTID
Brilliant from Ahsan as usual. Insights which no one else has. We need players who have not won the PL or the champions league and so are hungry but who also are of the right age which I think is not more than 25. Less than that if possible consistent with skill. Gary Neville said that United in 2004, after the treble success and successive league titles, just ran into a brick wall. This is what City have done he said. And I have some sympathy with his view.
People want to talk about defense and midfield for being terrible but we do nothing in attack. There is no creativity in this team. Doku, Bernardo, and Savio can’t cross because they either hit the first man or they over hit the cross expecting Haaland to jump 20ft high while being the only one in the box. There’s no through balls, long balls, ball over the top and passes to break the line. KDB is the only one that create and even he’s not been good recently
I'm rapidly coming to a conclusion (esp after the Juve loss) that Pep should leave now. The only problem if there is an assistant coach who can do a reasonable job and still bring us to top-4.
The Etihad Capus is like a holiday camp for the men and the women, the men’s first team are given more time off than they do training, Liverpool looked twice as fit as Manchester City and they played 5 games less last year? Pep’s assistant is old and tired and that looks like the state of the team at the moment.
Next starting 11, Carson in net, Doku on, Grealish floating mid, Savihno up front, Diaz CB and then the rest of the lot Academy lads. Couldn't turn out any worse than where we are!
Completely bang on Asahn, feels like the whole team is set up to cover/protect the ones that have dropped off eg Walker/Gundo. We played the game 90% on our left side to avoid the ball being near Walker, then 5mins to go they score two on that side 🤦🏻♂️
As a United fan it appears that the system they are playing isn't working with the playets they have. Pep needs to change his system to get through the season and limit the damge. It feels like City have waited too long to change players out and they also look like theyve stopped running for City/Pep. The players look scared and there are no leaders in the team at the moment.
The board need to understand that Pep is a brilliant manager, but his achilles heel is his love of small squad's. They need to replace every player that leaves with a player of equal ability & tell Pep to integrate them
Also, Pep needs to address the elephants in the room. Foden does nothing for the team. He waits for the ball to drop on the right side of the final third arc to smash a shot. He and Walker are passengers
Are you on drugs?? Foden was making tackles. In our penalty area, Chasing was constantly chasing Mizzouri, and it was dropping deep to help Gundo. He was helping Doku time and time again was the only player who got a shot on Target, was the only player not giving the ball away every time like every other attacker. A passenger was Bernardo. The right side was anonymous all game didn't see Bernardo test Dalot once
I honestly think this is a shocking opinion I saw Foden all over the pitch like usual making tackles in his own box Foden was the only one passing the ball at pace giving it to Doku, Bernardo, Haaland and KDB countless times and they all would lose it with poor touches slow legs and awful crosses and least Foden made onana make a save what did the others do?????? Foden was helping gundo and Doku all game Massouri was always beating Doku till Foden dropped back and started staying with him
Thanks guys needed that. When your board is run by people there to bulk up the CV for the next upwards move with no investment to the club-this is where we end up.
Question should be where does Pep go from here because it's always the same with him no matter how bad form City are in ! Enough of his arroagence of same lineup every week and still expecting some sort of a miracle.
Pep is like a Formula One Champion who now gets to drive a diesel bus and has no idea when or how to park it. Every other bus driver is outracing him and he now has to learn quickly how to deal with a situation unknown to him until now. He will eventually get to it one day.... but how long will it take?
You guys are spot on with all the points you have made. Pep complained about a lack of creativity last season and still refused to sign an attacking midfielder this season. This is all on Pep, and yes, the solution is a massive overall of the squad.
I cannot decide if it's complacency or contingency. These charges have been looming large and I don't think it's any coincidence our transfer policy changed and we have stalled whilst these charges are ongoing.
Nunez gifted the match to Utd…That being said, notice how the form started off great at the beginning of the season, then bombed abysmally when the so-called charges started to be reviewed. Couple this with playing old players and ones nursing injuries, and now rumours of Pep and Haaland going, this looks bad….
You can’t play Pep’s football with defenders of the quality of Gvardiol, Lewis, Walker, Stones and Aké always injured, we’ve got two decent dependable defenders at the club.
KDB has completely lost his legs. Just walks around, doesn’t press, doesn’t tackle. Even worse his corners n crossing have been absolutely shocking. The amount of times he hits the first man on a cross is just baffling. Just one of many old players to part ways this summer!
@ its called Father Time fella. Time is near to hang up those boots or go milk a couple more years in Saudi or MLS. But he’s finished at the elite level. Sure he can still have occasional moments but we need much more than that!
Hi STE and AHSAN, I know something is wrong, it’s not the players or Pep’s fault , I strongly believe that City will rise above all this darkness, everything will be better soon, God bless Manchester city ❤🙏🏽🇯🇲
Thanks for this Steve and Ahsan, very cathartic inderd. It’s nice of the club to offer a taste of the old City for the newer fans, but this should be completely unacceptable at the position the club is in now. Strong investments needed in January, but I’m not sure if that’ll fix the mental rut and decline they’re in - maybe get the top sports psychologist for the money while they’re at it, and give the youngsters an actual chance to compete for the spots in the squad. The one thing I disagree with is the comments about Gvardiol. He’s not just a ”marketing opportunity” but a great player for now, and the future. We know the club had the financials to do both the deal for him, as well as for other players but choce not to do it.
Just wish pep would adjust his tactics to suit the players we have available , I would like to see us press in the middle then play through balls into space for Haaland to run on to and through balls to the wingers to run onto , we are pressing to high leaving us no room to make a through ball for anyone to run onto then when we loose the ball we get smashed on the break 🤷🏽♂️ if you look at Utd that’s what they did to us so no one can say it doesn’t work 🤷🏽♂️ it’s not rocket science 🤷🏽♂️
Can't help but feel like Txiki and the board have valued selling youth players for profit and winning transfer negotiations over keeping and acquiring players that the squad needs to sustain its high level of success. Pep as well to a lesser degree, with his loyalty to aging players and desire to keep a small squad.
Its either Pep's fault or the Board's fault for allowing a squad to become very thin and aged...Pep has an abysmal record of promoting from the academy like all other top clubs do so to cry about injuries is utter BS
While I 100% agree with the need to buy in January, I'm still the kind of to remember everyone that there's a reason we don't do business in jan. My point is, don't let urgency buy the wrong solution
The way I look at it is walking needs to be stripped of the captain band and benched. Diaz is the only player I can see fighting for the badge right now. Halland can look as lost as much as he likes, he needs to dig deep and do whatever it takes. Phil voting sisters lost his sparkle for whatever reason and he's to come to the realisation he's not bigger than the club and he can be sold like everybody else. Rico Lewis is a liability you've had your chance it's not working out for you you need to go play for somebody your level. It's very simple it's all hands till the pumps if you're not interested then put your transfer request in. We're not winning any silverware this year we just need to fight for a reasonable place and that's it and start again.
Stay confident about the process... our squad is in a decline... but that doesn't mean anything in terms of play... we need a refresh... with some new faces... but the main pillars of our squad won't go away easily... they have salaries that are not accessible to everyone... and then I firmly believe that they are happy with us... here at Manchester City. The Veterans of the squad will help to settle in the new arrivals that we will buy in January and in the summer... to be able to rebuild our game plan more effectively for the next few years and become competitive again... our new sporting director Hugo Viana... will have a lot to work on... but we are confident in the process... we will come out stronger than before guys 🩵💪👊
O Riley needs to play hes got height and runs well with the ball stick him next to KDB in the deeper role and just go attacking playing like how pep is right now is boring and offering nothing might as well go down swinging
Oh my God, he’s done it again on 25 minutes he mentioned Joško Gvardiol again, have you never kicked a football in your life, watch the second goal and his starting position, he’s got the positional sense of a under 11 footballer.
That right side needs a complete overhaul Dalot had the easiest game of his life Bernardo Silva was a complete passenger didn't threaten Dalot once no line breaking passes and Walker on the ball is awful
The players are too old and have lost their pace. that is probably why they dropped off in the second half of the game against United trying to pass the ball around more. We need new and younger players. We really shouldn't sign anyone older than 27 at this point.
Sorry but so glad someone is saying how it is about Nunes he was the worst player on the pitch against Liverpool and he was awful yesterday every time he got the ball it was like watching a fish riding a bike
@steven am actually surprised of what you guys are saying, you guys have never run a club before, this people brought us success we can never imagine, psg project failed, atlentico madrid is not yet a success, chelsea went true the same face, Ajax, bayern, befica even r.madrid, you guys should support the club through this cross road, this too will pass.#commoncity

Every first team player should have an academy player learning how to play
I'm rapidly coming to a conclusion (esp after the Juve loss) that Pep should leave now. The only problem if there is an assistant coach who can do a reasonable job and still bring us to top-4.
Times up for Walker. He probably might be gone in the summer but not captain material I’m afraid,
Yeah, that's a madness. Pep should put his big boy pants on & change the captain for his own good at this point

Pep is gonna get the players he want and in the next two season he’ll go unbeaten in one of them 😂 I have a feeling he’s gutted with the losses
Great video lads!!
Foden is ill mate, his form is way off because of it.
Because our shite cm's can't even break a line anymore
Are you on drugs?? Foden was making tackles. In our penalty area, Chasing was constantly chasing Mizzouri, and it was dropping deep to help Gundo. Foden is the least of our concerns. We have some serious dead weight like grealish and gundo that need to be cleared out of this squad.
Pep needs to go to the basics, which is, to team needs to aggressive in pressing. Also, he needs to grab the bull by the horns in Jan. transfer
He needs 6 or 7 new young hungry talented players! Will take time!
Jonathan Tah and Joshua Kimmich in January for me. Two proper leaders, we need that right now.

haha...Walker is a cheat
Exactly. He's no captain & Pep should change that now, for his own good. And for ours
You guys are spot on with all the points you have made. Pep complained about a lack of creativity last season and still refused to sign an attacking midfielder this season. This is all on Pep, and yes, the solution is a massive overall of the squad.
In fairness gundo was one of the top chance creators in la liga last year. Naively, we expected that to continue getting him back
I cannot decide if it's complacency or contingency. These charges have been looming large and I don't think it's any coincidence our transfer policy changed and we have stalled whilst these charges are ongoing.

spends his time hyping up the youth, “the academy is ready” he said when the squad was underperforming.
The academy is either failing or being failed.
Tactics are poor. You can blame the board for letting the core age but it's Pep"s fault for not adjusting.
What tactical change is going to stop a squad not being able to complete a pass back to ederson consistently
