Exploring EXPERT ONLY Terrain at Sierra at Tahoe

Huckleberry Canyon is an experts only zone found in the summit region of Sierra at Tahoe in California. The 320 acres to the east of Grandview Express is known by Tahoe locals as some of the best and most accessible backcountry terrain in the region. Since the zone is incorporated inside Sierra-at-Tahoe's boundary, this steep and deep terrain is classified as Extremely Challenging and is appropriate for Experts riders only.The cliff drops, cornices, rock chutes, open bowls, gladed runs, and powder pillows in Huckleberry Canyon are accessible through five backcountry gates from the top of Grandview Express.
We took 2 runs through Huckleberry Canyon when we visited Sierra at Tahoe in February of 2023.
