Sierra-at-Tahoe Short Film: Heart on Fire

A 2023 TAFF (Tahoe Adventure Film Festival) submission, this short film looks back on the Caldor Fire that touched down at the Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort in Lake Tahoe, California in August 2021, destroying 80% of its mountain. This is a story of history, destruction, and redemption as it built back in less than a year to open for the 2022/23 season.

I learned to ski at Sierra, got my first injury at Sierra, my first job that I truly wanted to come into every day, no matter the drive up, or the weather, was at Sierra. Made many new friends, new opportunities, and I have never been happier to return to any place on this planet, than Sierra at Tahoe. It truly is my second home and family, and I am forever grateful for it. Back for season 3, and hope I'll end season 3 with a cross.

I learned to Ski @ Sierra and also got my first real injury there “broken Tibia” right before the fires started. I can’t wait to get back to my True happy place.
And not I’ll be teaching my Twin Boys how to Ski here.
