    Exactly what a tutorial should be. Brief but in depth, no monologue, fun, not dumbed down but not interminable.

    Absolutely loved this video! I've been subscribed to Ippei Tambata for a quite a while, but until now he was really the only person on the internet for me to turn to in order to learn how to use this synthesizer, so it's nice to have found another useful source to add to my learning. I really hope to see more like this from you, I've subscribed and look forward seeing how else you use this synth in the future.

      Thank you! Ippei is the king of MS-20 patching! I aspire to reach his level of mastery of the instrument someday.

    This beast of an instrument…always punching way above its weight.
    Full of sonic and modulation superlatives - and you really bring these to the fore.
    I thoroughly enjoy your sessions 🙏

    Sure wish I had a way to sync my MS-20 to my DAW.

      Yeah it’s kind of a pain. If your daw has time stretching or quantization that’s what I’d recommend. I use Ableton and the complex warp mode to adjust the tempo to fit, and I think it sounds really good

    Keep up the demos. You show more in less than 15 min than most specialists do.

    Can you create those FM sounding sounds?

  • @amazeus1980

    I have behringer K2 and wondering how Mini sounds next to it. K2 has a choice of 2 filters…old and modern…I have also seen a cimparison of mini with old ms-20…they sound different. Wondering how K2 old filter is close to the oryginal…but I use its modern filter more often…old is very noisy sometimes.

      One of my students had a K2, so I’ve actually used one kind of a lot. When comparing the same filter revisions, the k2 sounds pretty much indistinguishable from mini or the original to me. It really feels like an MS20. I don’t like the way Behringer does business but there’s no denying they nailed it with the K2. The sound is there

    This pretty cool! have you tried to sync this to the Matriarch? Is that even posible? I guess it would involve using the SQ 1? And if so how to use it without loosing the richness of patterns you can get with the MS 20 running as free as possible?

    this is great. however, no matter how many videos i watch, i fail to understand how the patching works.

    Such a great, eye-opening video!! Will have to give this a try. Is there a way to sync the tempo to a clock on the original Ms-20 that you know of?

    • @Sound_ology
      @Sound_ology  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Like to an external clock? You could go from your clock out to the envelope trigger in instead of having it trigger itself, I think that would be the way.

    I don’t like the copy cat Behringer one. And I’ll never buy anything from Behringer.

      I love the original size. Gotta say, one of my students had a k2 and it sounded like a real one to me. I was surprised, I think there are a lot of bad sounding k2 demos on TH-cam

    Do you feel difference beetwen an ms-20 FS and a Mini?

    • @Sound_ology
      @Sound_ology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only in the feel, not in the sound. The FS size feels better to use, but the sound is the same

    • @theboofin
      @theboofin 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, the FS has the extra filter which is very quiet and very useful for certain patches. Having both filter types is a real advantage.
