Would love to see Lewis go on Nico’s podcast at some point.
I’m sure they will become great friends once again and look back fondly at the time they had together... from both Karting as kids to being teammates in the best f1 team ever, and they both won the WDC with them.
Obviously at the time it got too heated but Nico clearly sees how that it was nothing personal but just necessary when you’re in such an intense situation to have some kind of fallout and break off friendships.
I actually think lewis and Nico seem very similar with their outlook on life and their values, and what they see as important causes in life. Sad that they still aren’t friends it seems but I’m certain it’ll happen at some point, maybe not until lewis leaves f1

I don’t think Lewis wants to be friends with him. I think they are both at fault for the erosion of their friendship but I would bet it started with Nico after a lifetime of never beating him. One Nico won the title he was able to let all of the of the resentment go because he just wanted to win once. Nico also probably knew if he could never win with Mercedes he would probably never get another chance especially if Lewis was his teammate.
And I don’t think Lewis will forgive him or at least want to be cordial with him because Lewis might see it as someone who ended a friendship just cuz he was frustrated that Lewis was better and now that he won he wants to be friends. I don’t think Lewis has any respect for Nico as a person obvi as a driver since Lewis understands what talent is. Do even if he has or could forgive Nico, I doubt he would want to be close but people grow and evolve who knows.

Then how come Russel performed as good as Lewis on his first race with Merc? If it wasn't for the shit show Merc did, he would have gaped Bottas by 20-30sec just like Lewis. That's probably why Merc had sabotage everything so they could still hold Lewis as this big champion for BLM and their agenda while hiding the fact that they have massive advancement with their car technology compared to other teams.

What race did you watch? Bottas never dropped more than 3s behind in the first stint. He dropped back to over 8s behind Russell after running longer before his first stop, then was closing that gap pretty quickly, a few tenths a lap, before the infamous Safety Car that ruined both of their races. He had got the gap to under 5s when they both pitted again under the VSC.
Bottas was clearly faster in both the race and quali, although only by a little. But because he's Bottas, he can't do anything when he's behind, he can't run longer or overtake.

He's awesome. He defends Lewis too much, in part because psychologically it makes him feel better about his championship, and he competed against Lewis directly so he has an appreciation for Lewis' talent. The truth is F1 is not remotely a level playing field, by design, and therefore makes a terrible benchmark for who the best driver is. Indy is much better for illustrating who the best drivers are.
