Im not sure if Greeks are as concerned about where you come from as much as how and how many. There's an enormous difference between a legal immigrant and the 10's of thousands entering Greece illegally. This is an enormous and unfair strain on the people of Greece to contend this while dealing with their own economic stresses.

I am Greek and I really appreciate it when foreign people comment on the social/economic problems of the country. I am a traveler myself but I really wonder if I can identify as an expat or an immigrant by this point. It's really shitty to need to leave your country because it's not livable for you anymore. Tourism has been a huge problem for Greece mainly because the gtp mainly depends on it and it's really heartbreaking to lose hope in your country when others see an investment. That's why I really appreciate people that make an effort to understand the culture good and bad!

All these cases are interesting but nobody talked about the right of residence. Julian's Mother is Greek, vso she has the right to obtain Greek nationality. Nicoletta is Italian so she has the right as an EU citizen. Aimée is presumably no longer on a student visa, coming from Mexico she is not automatically qualifying but she mentions her husband who perhaps is Greek or from another country in the Schengen zone. Olivia does not mention her country of origin, the name does not give much away, her accent is Eastern European and there is no other information about her right to live in Greece.
I am not an EU or Schengen Zone passport holder. As I see it, the difficulties for people like me if I wanted to apply for residency are considerable unless you have €1 million Euros to invest
