De verdedigingsplannen voor Nederlands-Indië tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog

Begin 1942 begon de Japanese verovering van Nederlands-Indië. In een paar maanden tijd veroverden de Japanners Nederlands-Indië. Het KNIL (Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger) kon de Japanse aanval niet stoppen. Wist je dat het KNIL de zogenaamde 'derde verdedigingslinie' was? De Militaire Luchtvaart van het Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger (ML-KNIL) was de eerste en de tweede was de Koninklijke Marine. Het KNIL stond onder leiding van Hein ter Poorten. In 1927 werden plannen gemaakt voor een degelijke verdediging tegen een buitenlandse indringer.
