    Hope those magnets are glued on securely. Otherwise they could become projectiles.

    When you have all your different motor types built show everyone how to measure how much work you can get from these models. How your different models rank in effective work.

    Awesome video as always. However this is like one of the Pulse motor right?

    Cool. Can you do it again and by suspend it with magnets so it can go faster with no noise? Other videos show how that is done to suspend, but if you want a link I am look it up for you.
    Also if you had the same setup on the other side of the coil. ;)

      The mendocino motor

      @trench01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ludicscience I expect you will make that one day as well. :) would a second coil slow it down to the point it stops if it was a closed loop or attached to a motor?

    Can you do a video using hall effect switches (oh137 etc) instead of the reed switch? loving the simplistic design methodologies brilliant for teaching....

    A few questions. how long does it rotate? Can you make the coil repel the magnet?

    • @ludicscience
      @ludicscience  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can work for hours, and yes you can make it repel instead of attract

    This is called a reed switch motor. Made one many years ago.

    • @TheArkcantos
      @TheArkcantos 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coincidentally, this motor also known as pulse motor.

    • @Berghiker
      @Berghiker 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheArkcantos A pulse motor works with a transistor to switch the circuit on and off.

    • @TheArkcantos
      @TheArkcantos 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Berghiker Not necessary to be transistor. Just as the name implied "pulse", mean like a beat (take biological object, heart "pulse").
      The reed switch here act as the pulse switch. Another way to view is the motor works with "pulsing" (beating) electromagnet.

    Very good! Thanks for the link to my video. I will put a link to your video at mine. These little projects are great fun. Because they are simple to build other people can not only replicate them but make them better. This kind of sharing is a good thing.
