Im starting to play this in my band and our concert is in march and i play the trombone
my band class will play this in a few months, i'm 2nd clarinet, it's really fun
hi from a musician in the Southampton Youth Wind Band :)
My band class isn’t even close to sounding like that
We are playing it right now, we sound awful...
Same with mine. We're playing WAYYY slower!!
Ours was just a tad bit slower than this
ours kinda sounds like we are all playing a different song at the same time, so it sounds like the band room when we warm up.
Mine either T_T
Why does this remind me of angry birds and I’m excited to play this next month in a concert
Because it has some of the same rhythms and notes
My favorite part 0:58
same!
SAME
everyone in the comments complaining😭 wait till they get grade 3, 4, and 5’s
i hope no one finds this account what do you mean by grade 3,4,5? Cuz idk what grade I’m in. I’m in 8th so what is that
he means music grades, difficulty ratings, this is a grade 2 piece
I did this in 7-8th grade all State band In MS
Then again we learned it in two days
@@sam-fz4mw grade meaning the difficulty of a song like grade 1 is super easy 2 is easy 3 is medium 4 is hard an 5 is really hard
I just started playing this today and now I have to practice over Christmas break
cool! what part do you play? i had this song last year for bari sax and it was so fun.
@@rock.arrrght o play the trombone parts I'm a trombone player
@@Personuser_21 oh cool! our parts are pretty similar! i hope you have fun playing,, :))
@@rock.arrrght ok thx man
Playing this on Bari Sax was amazing
Ok pal, no need to go crazy
yessir! i love bari sax! it feels so cool when you hit the low notes :))
laughs in snare drum
I’m playing this tomorrow and I’m scared it’s for a UIL contest

Us too.
There’s one trumpet that can play the high F
Hello, you have summoned me. There are 2 of us trumpets that play in my band, and I am the one that hits the F
@@naelegion3055 same bro
The high f is easy
My class sounds great and we are playing this for CPA
My band class is doing this, I thought it was some shit from Sea of Thieves, now I am disappointed.
I play the French horn and my band director won’t cut the altos on our Soli’s ;-;
You should tell your band director that’s it’s “cut” time
Those aren't cued on the alto part though...
Solos
Altos saxs are the French horns color instrument
We are playing that at mpa
Ollie james us to
I have to play this piece in an international concert where we go from america to london but I'm 1st of 2 1st trumpets next to 4 2nd trumpets and we play with some highschool band but all the trumpets doing the international concert are not in the highschool band soo
Who’s here 2022
we played this at a competition and our snare drum sold us 😭😭😭😭
I’m a 1st clarinet and it’s chaos in my class as we’re trying to play it because we don’t shut up at all😅
Omg for a grade 1.5 this is decently hard, a high G for clarinets??? Thats scary for that level, i remember when i was doing 1.5, i couldnt make it past a high D...
My got silver at a national music fest with this piece
Congrats!
I’m snare drum 🥁 in this song :)
1st Chair Trumpet for me
I'm trombone on the parts also there is a lot of rests
Ugh Why did my band teacher select this piece
ikr. and why does it have to be in cut time too? it sounds really chaotic and its really stressful cause everyone is playing different parts. us clarinets are mostly alone unless we are with the trumpets or trombones.
Boi this piece is amazing
@@Erzilla-qx7pu cut time is rlly simple just tap to the original tempo and its easier, like instead of setting ur metronome at 104 for this piece just set it at 208 and then just play normal. thats obviously rlly fast hence why it's in cut time. and when you're learning a piece and it's cut time you should always start playing in 4/4 then speed it up as necessary. for example, lets say a piece says "*half-note* = 70" just ignore than and play is as normal, once you start speeding it up and get to 140 (70*2) then ur technically playing in 70 cut time. cut time is literally just a concept so the conductor doesn't have to conduct rlly crazy, ur foot isn't tapping crazy, and it's just overall not so stressful hearing the metronome going so fast.
@@charlestester9130 yeah, I’ve figured that out now. It was a while ago when I commented, even before I had really learned the song enough to play by ear. Tbh I don’t count when I’m playing unless it’s completely necessary because I am quite good at memorizing the parts of the song, when to come in, when to fade out etc. Thanks for the advice though! I hope someone who needs this can see it!
Sounds like every Johnie Vinson March.
Mt band sounds exactly like that
AHH MY SCHOOL IS DOING THIS AND I HAVE THE CLERINET PART >>"
alto saxes are too underrated. we never get the melody!
Nah yall are lucky like way too much pressure on melody if you mess up everything will sound a little off and confuse the band
@@nymphadoratonks9337 yeah, but that's the thing. saxes are best when they're under pressure, coz we love showing off
@@flissykaboojah2160 fair enough the saxs in my band play super loud and then complain about not being able to hear the oboes (my instrument)
In pieces I’ve seen / played, Altos usually get the counter melody and do their own thing while the melody happens (usually paired with horns). I’ve seen a few alto solos, but I’ve ran into a few pieces with alto melody.
@@supremekai7112 Horns never get the melody alone
Bruh the alto saxes in my band keep playing F# instead of F natural at the part in 1:22 👹👹👹
Im the only trumpet in my band
The others are in the other class 😭
0:10 angry birds
Facts
Breuh I am doing this in 8th grade im a clarinet.... I have a 10 year old clarinet that can’t play high nots I hate this price so much, it sounds good but I literally get yelled at for being unable to play
