Zak: teaches a dog how to high five in less than 10 seconds My dog: 4 years old, been though 5 training programs (one to be a companion dog), tell her to sit and she'll walk into a wall
My dogs to shes knows sit stay lay down and spin she sreally intelligent and quick learner but with my other dogs it like triple that time to teach them tricks it just depends how u train the dog and some dogs just take time
@@sagarraj9224 uh- Freckles are not "ugly" what they are is something that can't be remove. Therefore it's rude to say they're "ugly" when it's something some people can't help.
My dog is so aggressive when he shakes 😂 if you have him sit he'll just immediately start smacking your leg with his paw like "peasant. I know you want my paw"
Mix up the training sessions! You'll be surprised how many tricks they can learn at once 😊 He's getting his paw out because that's what he knows as his routine. Sit, then paw. Changing the routine of tricks will make his brain work and that releases lots of endorphins for them and makes them feel good 😊👌
with our dog, she just automatically assumes we want her paw when we try to teach her a new trick. I was teaching her the basics of retrieval and leave it today (she's deaf so I had to figure out the best way to teach her to leave things alone since I can't just shout "leave it!!" if she picks something dangerous up from the other room) and she kept trying to do shake whenever she was frustrated or didn't know what we wanted
That's awesome! I originally used the phrase "say hi" when teaching my dog, Luna, to wave, but I phased it out in favor of going, "Luna, hi!" And waving at her.
That’s absolutely adorable. The one reason I would get a dog is being able to train it. I’m still a cat person though, I love my kitties and they’re not going away any time soon. I might get a dog when I’m older, though!
2:15 High five Just put your hand in that position and reward when your dog’s paw touches your hand 2:32 Wave Same thing but slowly increase distance apart 3:57 ring a bell Put your hand on top of the bell and reward when they ring it 4:38 Press a switch same thing put your hand in front and reward when they touch Notes Remember to keep practicing only reward this behaviour when you ask for it if you don’t want it to happen otherwise and add the command once they offer it.
Just imagine being on the living room with your dog, and ya'll gonna start watching a netflix movie and then you just tell him to turn the lights off, LOL
My dog allready knows all yhe commands in this vid so maybe i can actually teach him lights off 😂 yeah, i’m gonna do that, now i’m working on jumping in my arms and the agility sticks
People teach their dogs shake or paw by waiting for the dog to paw your hand for the treat, but I find saying paw and lifting the dog’s paw and saying your command and rewarding it a lot faster and easier. Eventually they will do it on their own.
I have a beagle who is very stubborn. He listens pretty well inside on a leash but I live on a busy road and I cannot get him to come or stay on our property. I am so afraid he'll get ran over or worse. So whenever he gets loose at least 5 cars swerve to miss him. When he is roaming free it is like he is in a different world. Zak, please make a video about how how to train stubborn dogs like beagles. PLEASE
Gabe Kappen If you don't want to stand outside with your dog on a leash and you don't want to use an in ground electric fence collar, then get a metal corkscrew to put into the ground and attach a long line to it and put your beagle in a harness and attach the long line to the harness so your dog can run around safely outside and play and sniff and not be endangered by running out into the street. Off leash training takes a lot of work and even then you still should attend your dog outside when they are off leash.
I already a metal corkscrew to put into the ground and my beagle uses it but it just kills me to see him out on a chain. I want to find a way to teach him to stay on our property so he isn't dragging a chain by his neck
Don't let him off a lead when he's outside unless the area (including your yard) is completely inescapable. Honestly though, I would hire a trainer. Scent motivated dogs such as beagles usually will never be reliable off leash unless they're ecollar trained, but that isn't something you should do without an experienced trainer present. Even then, I wouldn't leave him unattended if the yard is easily escapable.
My 6 month old pup knows shake pretty well, and just started doing high five. I taught him to wave in about 10 minutes after watching this video. So cute. Thank you!
We've taught our 1 yr old rescue pitbull (pictured) shake, sit, lie down, say your prayers, and play dead all before I found thesel Now I'm gonna go crazy with them.. Thank you so much!
My grandma's dog knows shake, and I tried teaching her high five without watching any videos, I also didn't have any treats or toys with me, and she basically has it! I was so proud of myself and mostly her.
I love how he shows the bumps he runs into and how to solve them. A lot of these videos just show how to do it and he dogs doing the tricks. This is why I love his videos.
He's a smart boy! 💜 I taught my dog to ring the bell whenever he wanted to go out side. He got it real quick and taught the others to do the same. Dogs are so smart!
Great trick. I often think how can expand on what my dog already knows. She is very clever and picks things up very quickly. I had run out of things to teach her.
Oh I love your dog in the video. So sweet. Beautiful cool markings. You can see he wants to learn. Dogs are so much smarter than people think. They also have a soul a spirit who makes them who they are just like humans. They have feelings, get upset and get thier feelings hurt. Just because they cant speak English dosent mean they dont understand. Thank you for your video. My mini Australian shepherd can do alot. I swear hes at least half human. He knows close to 100 English words and can do many tricks to. He has a signal if hes thirsty to let me know. He puts his paw towards my water bottle then gives one small bark looks at me and then at my water bottle. That's if we are outside somewhere. He did that on his own. Dogs are amazing!!
Imagine staying at a friends house, in the middle of the night you hear the lights turn on, the fridge open then close, and the TV turns on. You walk into the living room and its the dog on the couch, with treats and a remote.

In case Zak doesn't reply, maybe I could help. First inspect the dogs mouth without the brush for a few seconds at most, then reward. Build it up until they trust you with their teeth. Then introduce the toothbrush. Put it on the floor in front of them and reward when they show interest. This will help the dog trust the toothbrush. Now combine the two. open the dogs mouth as before, but this time touch their teeth with the brush for a moment then reward. Build up slowly until the dog is comfortable with a full brushing action. Don't bother trying to brush straight away, they'll be confused and resist. The trick is to push them long enough to learn, but not enough to where they resist. If they do resist when you try to touch their teeth with the brush, allow them to retreat and hold the brush there until they come back to inspect it. Once they do, reward them and start again.
