    This synth is just perfect for someone who doesn't need eight million options in front of them cluttering the creative space. And it sounds SO GOOD. Thanks UAD!

    With a friend (and his father) who has 2 big Apollos, we spent last Saturday night trying all the presets, one after the other, which blew us away, yet we heard some sound with the keyboards , worstation and VST, but frankly amazing, it was Houaa, jaw dropping! Besides, the onboard effects are the best I've heard in a virtual analog or hardware keyboard, the flanger and reverb are to die for! But what did you put in it to make it sound like that??? Huge congratulations to UA!!

      @@JeffyGit’s built entirely different, even if you take the same steps with both synths to make a sound, the processing you’re automatically getting by using this synth is going to sound different than vital. Vital is going to be your best free synth along with surge to work with raw initial presets, and vital in particular can modulate basically anything and has a stellar GUI and is also very open with everything going on. This is a very locked up kind of synth in comparison

    Bro the song you made using Polymax only sounds really cool. Good job! Synth sounds amazing, I am drooling over it, man I think a might just go ahead and buy it after typing this comment. Effects sound amazing.... I use NI Monark a lot, this seems to be a slightly more versatile and, most importantly, polyphonic and velocity sensitive version of it. I love Monark for what it is of course: a vintage analog mono synth, a software minimoog. It just has a sound to it, sounds very real. I also use ableton's wavetable a lot. I like how it works and what it can do, but it somehow always sounds a bit sterile to me. I will have to experience it, but it sounds like the polymax synth perfectly covers something I'm missing. I like that it is still relative simple and with a clear personality. UA also has a software version of the minimoog of course, but I haven't ever tried or consciously heard it.

    Straightforward control is good, but $199 even with eventual 60% off is too much for too basic, no DSP plug like many. It sounds good though.

      I think in the bundle if you own some plugins already I get all the synths for 75 bucks. It's worth it if you already have invested in uad stuff but I agree with you when it's just by itself.

      Another (small „issue“) is that window with presets …I’d rather that it wouldn’t push the synth to the side…simple drop down menu would do it…
      Another lfo would be also useful but daw automation can be used alternatively.

    Nice effort - I wouldn’t call it a “modern UI” though. Unrelated to this synth, here’s something that would be helpful: Modern real-time scopes and meters built into Console (stereo imaging scopes, oscilloscope, freq spectrum, dynamics metering, lufs histogram, etc).

    • @SomebodyPickaName
      @SomebodyPickaName ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This basically has the controls of a Prophet 5 so it's fairly straightforward and therefore visual feedback is not needed.

    • @jaydekaytv
      @jaydekaytv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SomebodyPickaName My comment about scopes is specifically related UAD Console and not related to this synth. It's something that would be hugely beneficial to include with Console. As for this synth, they say it's a modern UI in the video, which it isn't. The Prophet 5 is decades old.

    Nice layout. Now replicate it on a (affordable) dedicated hardware control surface and I will buy. Hands on control is what’s missing. Turning knobs with a mouse is anti-inspirational. And please don’t bother telling me about midi CC mapping I am well aware. I want instruments not work-arounds.

    • @SomebodyPickaName
      @SomebodyPickaName ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If you want instruments, not workarounds, with hands-on control....you should do just that by buying a hardware synth. You're asking for dedicated, while affordable, for just this one plugin only, hardware controller....in a world with IC shortages. With all due respect to you, that is not economical or doable in 2022.

    • @edjefferson9175
      @edjefferson9175 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SomebodyPickaName I have hardware synths. That is why I understand the need for tactile control. That's where the discovery is. I use my Moog Sub 25 more often as a controller. When I look at the layout of this new synth it seems like a powerful instrument. If only I could touch it.
      Controllers are actually cheap and easy to design and produce.
      Anything is doable in 2022 if you have even the slightest bit of imagination.
