    I have a small Buddha statue in my back yard. Its very simple.. unassuming... not pretentious... The winter came and it was covered from time to time completely in snow. You could not discern if there was anything there... just a small lump in the snow. Now, the Spring is coming... and with the warm days the snow melted and there is my statue again... The Buddha is visible... Why? He was always there and will always will be. It is a gentle reminder of impermanence and superficial things.. and yet the truth that lies within.

      @ILBM WAZIR There was two roads in front of a man. One which most walk, and one which few walk. The road most walk is already paved and easy, and the one that is not is rough and uncertain. @@woopwoop60 if you read the full poem and the history behind it, you will actually find that Frost emphasizes that both are fair... More than that, he wrote it with his friend Thomas in mind who would always feel bad that he would choose the wrong path. It's actually a poem to suggest choose a path and don't feel bad about it because either way you go it will lead you to the experience best fit for you.

    • @MacDodle

      @Darshan Agyat no. Its taste good. It's is great for an occasional meal, they only really affect your health when you overeat it which most things applies to.

    • @rogerlimoseth4790
      @rogerlimoseth4790 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also contained cocaine! The guy who built the statue of liberty tried it. He said if he had it sooner the statue would have been meters taller.

    • @MacDodle
      @MacDodle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Darshan Agyat I never said I was used to it. These kinds of food I only eat once in a span of 1 to 2 months, even less with coca cola. What I mean is these foods are like a treat for once in a while. I do agree that it can be bad for us if consuming it becomes a habit. But again that applies to most food like: steak, seafood, and even some vegan option foods which is heavily processed plant matter. And your poison metaphor is kinda flawed, the human body can build immunity against poison if consumed in small(not lethal or dangerous) dosage.

    • @DefeatLust
      @DefeatLust 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MacDodle But your logic is bad. Why consume poison to begin with? The coca-cola provides NO benefit. Not even if you drink it once a year. It is SIMPLY for taste. And as all the enlightened beings state, you should give up "sense pleasures". Coke is pure bull shit. Whether u habitually drink it everyday or once a month, garbage is garbage. It LEGIT gives you cancer. They clean the streets with it sometimes or to take the rust off ur car. Wtf?

    Buddhism is a philosophy of life not religion..

      The Buddha's teaching goes beyond philosophy. It's extremely profound. For a lay person, it may be a philosophy, a teaching or a way of life. To understand it deeply, we need to relinquish our lay life and practise under a great practitioner - an arahant, bodhisatta or a Buddha.

      Scholars of religion at the University of Chicago spent about 100 years pondering the question, "How can we define "religion" and what elements are essential to religion?" Their subject was called Religionwissenschaft (science of religion) in Germany, but "history of religion" in America.
      Ethics, communities (convents, congregations. Santa's), religious leaders (priests, prophets, abbots), rituals, scriptures,
      holy places and holy days, theories of the afterlife, practices like prayer, meditation, and pilgrimage, almsgiving, the concept of salvation, and even theology all appear in different forms across most religions. Since Buddhism has all of these, scholars in the field consider it a religion. Buddha didn't teach that there is no God, he just said that gods are irrelevant to achieving Nirvana. In fact, Mahayana Buddhism arguably treats Buddha and Kwan Yin as gods.
      Of course, Buddhism began as a Hindu "Protestantism" sweeping away excessive austerities, caste, and many local customs.

    There is a parallel story in the Bible where Moses struck a rock and water flowed out of it. A similar story came out of the Sahara in WWII when a private, remembering the Biblical passage, thrust his bayonet into a crack in a rock. His chaplain was giving him a hard time, when the privates faith bore the desired fruit. (water)
