The real most deadly enemy during the fight caves is panic After my first cape the caves became pretty chill, I even punched jad to death one time for shits and giggles

@@CottidaeSEA you don't need to run back and forth. For killing magers you do which ends up being super annoying, but for Jad you don't. You camp melee pray, flick to mage/range to tank his ranged and magic attacks then go back to melee after the dmg splat. But that said, killing 30 magers is extremely painful. Jad himself is easy enough

I've never actively followed any one creator for as long as I have Settled, and i still feel just as entertained and just as excited about every new video as I did when swampletics took off. It feels surreal that it's been almost 6 years. Your video making truly has come a long way, from cinematography to storytelling. You have a gift and an inspiring drive to not complacently rely on it, but push it to ever new heights through hard work. I don't know how well it translates, or if you're even interested in ever going that direction, but I like to imagine going to see a film one day and with a strange feeling of familiarity see a special thanks in the credits to Swamp man, Tile man, No hit man and other crazy journeys of narrative projects you decide to embark on. I've never played Runescape. I'd never heard anything about Runescape prior to discovering this series. That being said, the sheer force of my heart beating through my chest during the fight, and the immense parasocial happiness I felt watching Jad (an enemy I know nothing about) fall, is nothing short of incredible. I know nothing of the struggle required to complete the fight caves, or even to play Runescape the way you do, let alone damageless. Yet I have never felt a youtuber to be more deserving of a congratulations and a subcription. Amazing job.

I Finally started playing after all this time, and the love I have of knowing locations and going "oh this thing!" before even playing has been such a fun experience. I am LOVING the game thusfar.
Ngl thought you'd be reporting to us how you got close then failed, but you managed to pull it off flawlessly! Unbelievable man, the way you made it look almost safe to be in the fight caves just displays your genius and skill at the game. The way you manipulated each wave to perfection was beautiful to watch so I'm definitely gonna check out the longer video of this to enjoy that more. Where'd you see maths? I've seen some rudimentary algebra here which I guess technically counts but did that really stand out as something you didn't know before?
With each new chapter in any series you complete you become more and more of a OSRS legend. Amongst the names of Zezima, Woox and Mod Ash. You constantly show you can do anything you want in the game if you have the mind and willpower to do it. Congratulations on the damage less Fire Cape. I had the same thought. Zezima was a name that even non-runescape players knew, but judging from the comments, Settled is reaching beyond the confines of the osrs community and showing new ways of conquering the game. I also think it's healthy for the community that all these niche playstyles became a thing. I feel like it reduces the pointless grind mindset, where you're just trying to max for the sake of it. Zone-locked, tile-locked, 1 hp... playing in this way can get you excited for a steel scimitar. Can't argue with that kind of joy.
Having just got my first Fire Cape yesterday after 6 attempts, you make it look so easy. Congratulations on the insane and historical accomplishment. That strategy with the healers is nuts.
I mean tbf in 2024 Jad is considered entry-level pvm. Settled’s accomplishment of clearing it without taking damage is incredible but Fire Cape is no longer seen as some amazing accomplishment for normal accounts.
@cp3417 I think he means as a series he hit the historical moment of going how many ever hours without getting hit and now has a fire cape. I mean it was his goal after all
If you’re attempting your first firecape: use the inferno trainer jad wave until u can do it perfectly multiple times, then use the speedrun world jad trainer until you can do it perfectly multiple times, then once you’re ready get the necessary plugins to show you where the next waves spawns are. Once you’re actually doing the fight caves take time to chill, calm your nerves, and most importantly recharge your run, the wave before Jad take a break to practice the infernotrainer jad wave again until you can do it perfecltly twice in a row. Imo you should never do Jad (in 2024) completely blind unless youre a real sicko who does not feel any negative emotions wasting hours of your life. The only thing hard about Jad nowadays on vanilla is how hard it is to attempt the fight which in turn makes it more stressful leading to more mistakes. If you follow the route above you can skip all the frustration and anxiety. by the time you get to jad it will feel easy bc you’ll know you can do it. Anybody could first try this way.
@MrJoosebawkz I pit off getting my fire cape until 90 combat stats...simply because I didn't want to waste an hour or so every failed attempt. I practiced for like 10 minutes on a speedrun...watched a couple videos...pulled up the waves...got it first try. I'm an old man at this point so not the best skills...but fight caves are super easy with a little research and some practice. I'm sure it's a little difficult with lower stats, but I just used a blowpipe and blessed dhide.

@@RustyCanadien when he said he held off on doing the fire cape for awhile he really meant it, about a week ago his ranged xp went up about 58k. 10kxp for the tp attempt, and you get around 48k xp total for a full fight cave

The way you approach the game is honestly so inspirational to me, you got me back into OSRS with your Tileman series and I've followed ever since, the way you defy the odds and put all the work and maths into it are honestly iconic, it's so methodical. I've learnt so much from your videos even if I'm only playing a main account - thank you!

Where'd you see maths? I've seen some rudimentary algebra here which I guess technically counts but did that really stand out as something you didn't know before?

With each new chapter in any series you complete you become more and more of a OSRS legend. Amongst the names of Zezima, Woox and Mod Ash. You constantly show you can do anything you want in the game if you have the mind and willpower to do it.

I had the same thought. Zezima was a name that even non-runescape players knew, but judging from the comments, Settled is reaching beyond the confines of the osrs community and showing new ways of conquering the game.
I also think it's healthy for the community that all these niche playstyles became a thing. I feel like it reduces the pointless grind mindset, where you're just trying to max for the sake of it. Zone-locked, tile-locked, 1 hp... playing in this way can get you excited for a steel scimitar. Can't argue with that kind of joy.

Having just got my first Fire Cape yesterday after 6 attempts, you make it look so easy. Congratulations on the insane and historical accomplishment. That strategy with the healers is nuts.
I mean tbf in 2024 Jad is considered entry-level pvm. Settled’s accomplishment of clearing it without taking damage is incredible but Fire Cape is no longer seen as some amazing accomplishment for normal accounts.
@cp3417 I think he means as a series he hit the historical moment of going how many ever hours without getting hit and now has a fire cape. I mean it was his goal after all
If you’re attempting your first firecape: use the inferno trainer jad wave until u can do it perfectly multiple times, then use the speedrun world jad trainer until you can do it perfectly multiple times, then once you’re ready get the necessary plugins to show you where the next waves spawns are.
Once you’re actually doing the fight caves take time to chill, calm your nerves, and most importantly recharge your run, the wave before Jad take a break to practice the infernotrainer jad wave again until you can do it perfecltly twice in a row.
Imo you should never do Jad (in 2024) completely blind unless youre a real sicko who does not feel any negative emotions wasting hours of your life. The only thing hard about Jad nowadays on vanilla is how hard it is to attempt the fight which in turn makes it more stressful leading to more mistakes. If you follow the route above you can skip all the frustration and anxiety. by the time you get to jad it will feel easy bc you’ll know you can do it. Anybody could first try this way.
@MrJoosebawkz I pit off getting my fire cape until 90 combat stats...simply because I didn't want to waste an hour or so every failed attempt. I practiced for like 10 minutes on a speedrun...watched a couple videos...pulled up the waves...got it first try. I'm an old man at this point so not the best skills...but fight caves are super easy with a little research and some practice.
I'm sure it's a little difficult with lower stats, but I just used a blowpipe and blessed dhide.
@@johnmaynard3463 I'm sure with a Blowpipe it's easy, but requires like 78 Fletching to make so I just used Magic Short bow.

@@RustyCanadien when he said he held off on doing the fire cape for awhile he really meant it, about a week ago his ranged xp went up about 58k. 10kxp for the tp attempt, and you get around 48k xp total for a full fight cave

From the humble beginnings of being known for going incredibly dry for a Dragon Warhammer to one of the greatest players in RS history you've come so far and It's been a privilege to watch your journey through it all.
An absolutely unreal series - your comment in the beginning about getting attached to your account is understandable, however I couldn't imagine anyone else even doing something like this. The sheer dedication, man hours and prolonged focus something like this takes is insane, and to record it all and make entertaining episodes out of it puts it on a whole other level.
