They are everywhere. They aren't as crowded as the big gyms. And for those wondering as of this year. Once you activate your key it's unlocked to all locations effective immediately
I'm considering opening an Anytime Fitness franchise, so it's interesting to hear customers'/members' feedback. The monthly fee is determine by the individual franchise owner.
I appreciate the input my man! Didn't know the fob didn't work everywhere for the first 30 days lol I didn't know that could be expedited so thats good to know.
I started my gym membership it was $40 I hated that gym,I went to another Anytime after months of going to new gym they automatically bump it to $50 but it absolutely massive building, I even sparring/boxing in there… it has different types of equipment, no regrets when I to the new Anytime gym
I've heard of Anytime automatically switching your membership to the location you go to the most. So if you intially signed up for a rate $40/mth at one location but consistently went to another location with higher rates, they will switch your "home" gym location. Then they'll start charging you the more expensive membership fee.
Can only speak for myself. Signed up with a local AF gym last year, and solicited the assistance of a trainer as I needed to ensure that my form was correct, etc. The most economical plan was to join their small group sessions. Had to sign all kinds of forms, including a surcharge in the month of Sept for equipment maintenance! Yikes! That part about using other AF gyms is ONLY for regular patrons such as yourself, not small session participants! They wouldn't grant me the leeway to work with other trainers @ other branches UNLESS I was physically relocating, whereas at the point of signing up, was informed that I was welcome to train at other branches. That option was completely removed, however, once they had me. Just completed my annual commitment, and I'll NEVER sign up with them again.
@@proverbsgal So the franchise manager of the gym said that my account was closed but when I tried to return the key fob I got for $50, he said that’s non-returnable. I’ve found reviews and even a Facebook post about the guy and how sketchy and sneaky he was with past gym members who tried to cancel.
@@proverbsgal Bascially, people who “canceled” were finding out that they were still being billed for their gym membership months after they tried to cancel. He’s a scumbag.
@@proverbsgal Honestly, find any other gym and see their reviews from gym members. If the bad outweigh to the good, then that’s a huge red flag. Read the fine print before you sign and use your own discretion when choosing a plan so you don’t get billed months afterward.
I don’t know about that specific location however there is a key fob a activation fee the first month you sign up at AF. Think of it like a sign up fee. That $50 that went to your key fob activation fee so I can understand why your money was not refunded for the key. If you decided to rejoin you would mostly Likely just have to pay for the membership and no key fob fob fee . That being said I do know each anytime is independently owned and I don’t know the exact policy your location has.
Do not get a memberhsip at Anytime Fitness! It is a scam! They will not let you cancel. Buy a tread mill and some weights! Will cost the same as a 2 year membership.
@@andyw3152 i did they sent me to collections for 1400 dollars. I only owed 300 and they charged the other 1100 that was left to pay on my contract for the months ahead.
Looking at joining one since I'm a trucker and need to get some additional workout on the road. I use my home equipment when I'm at home, but with aging and health issues, just a little more oomph per week will help in addition to the usual nutritional changes. I make runs between the NM and CO areas and there are definitely more of them in the greater Denver area. Had a 24 Hour Fitness membership for the longest time. But ultimately had to get rid of it due to moving ftom SoCal to rural NM. Call me a weirdo, but I never got into the Mom'n'Pop places. See how this works.
I liked anytime fitness cause i could go at 2 am when nobody was there. Only issue i ever had was when i tried ending the membership. They continued it for 3 months even though i had been a member for 3 years
Why in the world did you give it 4.5 out of 5?? This review sounds like it shouln't be more than a 3. I agree with everything you said. Also, I can add that one of the biggest negatives was that the person I talked to didnt really seem that happy that I was taking up his time. The first thing he said was ' you will have to wait. Your appointment is at 10'. It was 9:50. Just the tone he used made me feel not very welcome. I really think that it was the fact that I am 61.
Their fee to join is annoying. Having that being said, if you hold out and say you're not paying the fee and won't be joining, they will waive it. It just took a couple of hours and the potential loss of the membership to get a call back, I also joined when they ran a half off special, which makes it worth it. I also appreciate that there's not a ton of "bros." The majority of the people there are easy going and cool and just want to improve themselves. I used to be a personal trainer a while back. I've been in the bro gyms. It can be annoying.. everything's updated and in good shape, and the gym is clean.
I took a tour of an Anytime Fitness near me and wasn’t really impressed. It was very small, looked more like a country club than a gym, had very little equipment for lifting (plenty for cardio though) and wanted $60 a month. There was a high end seniors condo complex built right next door just before they moved in so I think the AF might have been more for them. Plus side at least they're 24 hours, were very clean, friendly, and had hot showers and even a sauna room.
What's weird is that it depends on the AF gym - I've gone to a lot, and some of them are mid, other ones are really good. It's weird how there is such a difference location to location
honestly im saving up to buy a car, so with that being said, planet fitness is pretty far from where i live but luckily anytime fitness is literally a block or two away so i get the benefits of cardio and saving gas money lol. but this review is making me feel better. ive just been confused about the membership fees because it shows that its 24 bucks bi weekly and thats probably a downside :(
I’ve literally lost 8 pounds of muscle cause stupid covid ruined everything cause the gyms that used to be 24 hours are no longer 24 hours which is stupid so I’ll be signing up to this gym
My biggest gripe with Anytime Fitness is that their gym contracts are inflexible. It's either 12+ months or nothing. I mean come on it's 2024, there are other gyms out there that offer daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal pass. Making someone commit to 12 full months under legal contract is pure scummy and borderline imprisonment. I have changed gyms before after my 3 months contract with another gym had expired. It's not because I gave up on my fitness/BB goals is because the enviroment was just nasty. I didnt enjoy working out with the rowdy people there. I didn't like how the equipment was trashed and poorly maintained. For me to go to another Anytime Fitness branch if it doesn't work out is almost an hour away. Also I don't like how Anytime Fitness staff present themselves. They're like a cult constantly trying to upsell you a personal instructor. I had to tell one of the staff to bugger off because he thinks he knows better. I've been working out/BB for about 6-8 years now on and off.
Yea that 12 month contract is scammy. Only way around it is to go online like marketplace and find someone looking to transfer their membership to someone else with a few months left on the membership.
Wrong. They offer 12 and 18 mo memberships. They also offer month to month with no commitment (just need to give 30 days notice) and you can also pay weekly and drop ins. Stop being a liar face Mcgee.
@@Hseem Here's a quick tip. Why don't you try improving your reading skills? Start with reading Anytime Fitness' main website. No where does it ever mention a "month to month" membership. Typical memberships are from 12 to 18 months contract.
I went in for a first visit so he could show me around the gym. I was excited about what I'd heard. So far, I am disappointed. The gym is smaller than it looks from the outside, and that's saying something because it looks small. The trainer took me around the gym and was pointing out the names of the machines, which meant nothing because I told him that I haven't been to a gym in 35 years and I don't know what most of these do. Im 61 and have been working out at home. Just Telling me the names without showing me what they actually do does nothing. I am hesitant about even going as I will be completely lost. I love the hours but now am thinking about going to Planet Fitness, which I dont really want to do. Ar least they seemed eager for me to join. Plus, maybe it's the time of day that I went, it was 10 am, but it was so quiet and dimly lit that I could have actually taken a nap.
Exactly! A lot of those homeless living in campers and vans have full-time jobs and family, they just can't afford the ridiculously high rents or mortgages.
$30 bi-weekly should come out to be $60/month, which is still a bit high. it's weird how different areas are cheaper or more expensive, I would try contacting a different gym
