Today I made my parrotlet these cookies. I ground up oats to make the 1/3 cut oat flour and used 1/4 cup oats, the banana. Instead of mixed nuts I ground up some walnuts with flax seeds. Belle(my bird)was in the kitchen with me until I got to the oven phase. It took 4x’s longer to make this recipe as everything I took out to use she wanted to explore...haha Like me when making human cookies she loved the batter. I had to send her out with my husband so I could get the cookies cut and in the oven. Since I have only the one little bird I will be freezing these and taking them out periodically. Thanks for the recipe idea!
I have made these twice now, once with a smashed banana and once with pumpkin puree. Both times I've had to add a lot more flour (double the amount or more) and I cook them a little longer so they are crunchy--because that's how my Lilac Crown Amazon likes them. She told me "It's a keeper!" 😉
I’m looking at getting a budgie and I already have two cockatiels they have the preview flight cage and I was wondering if that would also be a good sized cage with appropriate bar spacing for a budgie obviously he would be in his own separate cage but I’m thinking about getting the same one
@Mohammed Razvi_2240421 i would love a white and light blue more white than blue or a yellow one!! And with some. Time im thinking of getting a cockatiel and upgrading their cages!!
It varies from bird to bird. Some birds can break off/ bend the bell enough to accidentally swallow the dangling bit. Concealed balls in bells are prone to rust which can make birds sick as well. The sound a bell makes can sometimes elicit aggressive responses and cause a lot of stress. Just depends on the bird. I do have a handful of bells on toys (just ones that come that way) and just observe the birds/ inspect toys frequently. If you see aggressive responses take them away, if you notice rusting remove the toy.
If the bird swallows the inside of the bell it can be super dangerous, and companies often make them out of toxic metals anyways, if you buy good quality ones with thick insides and stainless steel metals it should be fine!
Do you think cockatiels will like this? I don’t wanna go through all the work of making it and then having my cockatiel not likes it cause it has something sweet tasting lol
@@flockclock4080 what could i use as a base other than banana tho? Maybe I’ll try with sweet potato... but not sure if I’ll get the same result. Any suggestions?
i made them and my lovebirds LOVE them thank u for the recipe

if the bar spacing is 1/2 inch or smaller it should be perfect!
@@vourtical5858 ok thanks
My baby gcc doesn't like banana so I'll most likely use apple sauce instead =) thank you for the great recipe

Hi I have a question are bells bad for birds? And if they are why?
Ps. Those look delicious...

Bell are not really bad
But if there paint can come easily then yes and you should remove the inner part of the bell
Birds can swallow it
No, bells are totally safe for birds :) just make sure it's stainless steel

You have to check what ingredients your bird likes and then make the cookies 😉😊😋

Anything sticky will work, most dried fruits (apricot is really sticky!) and low-fat nut butters may work as a good alternative!
@@FlockTalk great! thanks for the help
so if my budgies refuse them, I can eat them so they don't go to waste?😂
Well maybe you can if you add the nuts I am adding bird seed so maybe in my case I can't try them😅

I don't think Chinese cinnamon is safe for birbs
It isn't
there is a type of cinnamon that is safe for birds, I just don't know what it's called
@Mohammed Razvi_2240421Ceylon cinnamon is the only type of cinnamon that's safe for birds, Chinese and Cassia cinnamon aren't safe for birds.
@Mohammed Razvi_2240421 Np, just helping a fellow bird owner out :D
Ceylon cinnamon (seen in the video) is safe, “Chinese” cinnamon looks very different and couldn’t be grated with a grater :)
