Fleetwood can be pretty sketch during week days but better on the weekends. Awesome ride! Definitely going to check out the section below Fredericksburg. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing! I can certainly relate- knee pain and roads that you can only say "never again".

I live in Stafford Va where Poplar, tacketts mill, Brent town rd, etc are. I’m surprised you made it through alive! Haha definitely tons of cars flying by non stop. Riding those roads once was enough for me as well. Quite nice on a motorcycle though!

Your positive attitude was surely tested. It is crazy that a designated bike route is so hostile to bikes. I have ridden portions of bike route 76 that were also dangerous but northern Virginia traffic is another level of danger. Glad you arrived safely. I don’t know if a safe route between the capitals exists-maybe an indirect one twice as long!
A recent men’s world championship road race was in Richmond and included Libby Hill! Peter Sagan won. That park was packed!
You would enjoy Monstercross. The 3T with wider 650b tires would do well there. It is competitive but at least the only traffic is other bikes!
    Thanks for the great content!

Yeah I’ve seen the footage of the actual World Champs that took place in Richmond. I had flashes of Sagan’s performance in my mind as I climbed up Libby hill. About Monstercross…it’s a race that I still really want to do. Maybe 2023 will be the year! Thanks for following along with the content on this channel!

I feel you ! Soemtimes it is wiser to walk ! Specially here in Sweden, where you hit a ice patch od several hundred meters on almost every road and gravel is not posiible to ride on at the moment for it is pure ice !

When I saw your rides on Strava I thought you were on your way to Monstercross. Well done.

The idea did cross my mind to include the race as the last stage of this ride. After those two days I’m happy that I didn’t. I still want to ride that event in the future…looked like fun!

Well done and way to persevere through the challenges. I remember that being an extremely windy day. When I saw this post I thought you were going to also do the Cap2Cap route from Richmond to Williamsburg.

The initial plan was to ride that Virginia Capital trail as well, but as you said, the wind was making for a hard enough ride as it was. I’ve seen photos from that route and really want to explore it sometime. Thanks for watching!
