- SPECIAL PROJECTS: Basalt meets Basalt - An India Book of Records Entry
From its birthplace in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu to a 66 million-year-old hillock made of its namesake rock, team car&bike undertook a near 2000km journey across the Indian peninsula in a Citroen Basalt to prove its mettle as an India-ready car. The bigger challenge being undertaking the 40 hour drive without switching off the engine...Here is how it went

Im very proud to be an owner of Citroen C3 bcos of its comfort & performance & i was the 1st customer to book it in my district when it was launched.
Marketing is good. But citroen needs to work on some things.
1. Features - Give all the features in top variants atleast. You can just copy the variants from KIA. Just adding Cruise control, sunroof and star stop will get you many buyers.
2. Increase the showrooms in tier 1 city first. In Bangalore, there is only one showroom in hosur road. Instead of focusing on tier 2, focus on tier 1 where people are trying to experiment.
3. When XUV 700 can sell 10000 units every month, you can see that the Indian buyers are having a lot of money. Just don't focus on cheap cheap. Looks at kylaq, magnite and Kia interior.
4. Improve your customer service and let people know that the service cost is not expensive.
I want citroen to succeed badly. Just don't fall short every time you launch a product. Launch a facelift and go all in.
Agreed to the points you mentioned, I went to Bangalore showroom KHT citreon which is a combined showroom of Jeep & Citroen.. whole experience was dull. The usual experience you get from other brands is not seen here. On top of it sales guys are really lacking knowledge on their cars itself.. only are explaining the features when you ask them and finally when I asked about service he outrightly mentioned there are no free services, when I checked in other showrooms of Citroen in other cities they mentioned they offer free labour charges. I feel pity for this brand such good products.. but poor overall customer experience 😔
But I still wonder....even after having all safety features....why did the c3 aircross get 0 stars
@@MRITYUNJAYPURI-rk7zq that's because gncap tested the car after the rules were updated when 6 airbags became necessary, otherwise it would have scored 4 stars as you can see in the report the structure was stable but it was missing number of airbags and some safety assists and features
@@solomonranjith7702 no free service? 💀 I got first 3 services free on my C3 turbo how come they not providing that?
Also you are right, salesman have no knowledge about their own car, they are so cost conscious that they try to sell only non turbo variants to customers unless you ask them u want turbo. When i went to the service centre so many other owners were amazed that a turbo variants was available in the C3, also the mechanic said "u won't find any C3 turbo in the service centre besides yours" 😂
Exactly, Indians are not looking for cheap cars. They are looking for value for money and reliability. They want the brand to have good number of showrooms and want an assurance that the brand won't quit India.
Congrats! But you guys need to release the results of the drive in another video. While the feat is great, we customers are interested in the details such as mileage, headlight effectiveness, comfort, any problems, lack of cruise control, night drive, performance etc. going you guys make another video about this.
Ya a good initiative by the company and Kudos to your team to cove the Vlog flawlessly
Hope Citroen opens a outlet in Solapur soon
Bhai every car does this not a big thing anymore. Even tata had clocked 55000kms non stop at an avg speed of 120kmph with their tiago, tigor, zest and bolt to showcase their new Revetron and revetroq engines in 2016 in their GRARED TO GREAT CHALLANGE
Maybe every car does it. But then every car has keyless entry these days and sunroof and then some. This clear is a marketing ploy but a good one. Citroen is just showing that the car is normal where it matters. Not exceptional but normal.
And such a showcase is required, just shows how tough the Indian market is to enter. Some things which should be taken for granted also need marketing. Especially when it is missing a lot of bells and whistles.

This engine really have the meaningful... citroen comfort is still best 👌
Very Important: Marketing team, Need to work on TV Adds, Petrol bank adds, Stalls and Thiruvallur need Service centre first.
You guys surely must have missed the cruise control.
This feat needs to be recognized by Auto enthusiasts.
What mileage did you got for entire journey
how did you keep the engine running when refuelling ?. Petrol stations demand that you switch off the engine when refuelling. It is a safety issue. why did you think it is more important to break this for your run.
I too have the same question??
@Vinothkumar-Sri I have never turned off engine while refuelling in Maharashtra. not even once. except for CNG car.
Launch CNG variants of these cars.....
All good, but cruise control feature would have made driving less tiring 😂
What was the mileage
You will get 18 for sure in highways. City 12 to13. I am having 1.2ltr turbo MT engine
Around 15kpl with AC
This will also be failures like C3 aircross...becoz of door handle, sunroof, cruise control
Citroen shld learn of Indian choice rather then cost saving...
Citron will leave India soon😂😂😂
Basalt should meet proper door handles first😅
Baat to sahi hai....😂
Ab premium cars me v aana shure ho gye h
