    Good stuff as always 👍🏼

    Hmmm, other instructors are saying to bring your right leg to your left first, then step out with your left leg to the left. Gives you a wider step so no need to ‘shuffle’.

      @pickleballplaybook  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      It just comes down to who you think would know better. A pro or an instructor 🙌.
      You don’t want to turn away from your opponents unless you absolutely have to.
      I promise Collin knows what he’s doing 👍

      @@pickleballplaybook I think the two of you are talking past each other. You're both describing a shuffle, the question is which of your feet you move first. If you look at 0:57 in the video, sure looks like Shick is moving his right foot towards his left first.
      I think the difference is that you're starting standing straight up with your feet together, so you have to move your left first. But if you were already in a wider stance, it might be more natural to shuffle by moving your right leg first (as Shick does in the clip).
      In neither case do you need to cross your feet over each other. (Just as you say)

      Thanks for clarifying! Yes that makes sense. Actually have never thought about which foot I step with first

    How did you get an edge less amped paddle? Is this a new paddle not out yet? What are the paddle characteristics? I have an Epic Luxx and need more power, is that a beefed up Luxx?

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s the new amped. It comes out on 05/25 and I can tell you more then! You’re going to love it 🔥🔥🔥

      I have one also. It’s the Amped Pro Air. This will be the production model of the Selkirk Labs 005.

    What type of dink is this best to use against: slice, flat, or top spin?

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The spin coming doesn’t matter actually. It all comes down to the type of ball coming. Can you attack it or are you in defense mode. If you can attack it is a great time to use the dipper!

    Great video. Im assuming this is used for cross court dinking only, correct? Is he using this for dinking straight across also?

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      He uses it for straight across as well! Very difficult though!

    • @shaggyb9599
      @shaggyb9599 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I use it for dinks in any spot, or at least the same setup, don't always get the same degree of spin when going straight across, but can also use the same setup for speedups, so it can really disguise multiple shots and targets from the same initial look

    • @pickleballplaybook

    I'd like to see that shot over the net to see where it's landing. If it's popping up, it's just a speed-up.

      The point of the topspin is to bring it back down 👍. So as soon as it hits the net level it drops. Hope that helps!

    So it looks like you are using your wrist during the swing. Are you sure that’s correct?

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      A very common misconception when using wrist and forearm is that forearm (what you’re seeing in the video) is mistaken for wrist.
      Using wrist on a shot means you are bending either your palm downwards towards your front of your forearm or upwards towards the back of your forearm while swinging through the shot.
      I am locking my wrist while using my forearm by pointing it up and then pointing it down. Thats what creates topspin.
      Make sure to not use wrist Ann!
      Hope that helps!

    What is a "karaoke" step?

  • @madrum
    @madrum 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    One thing that’s frustrated me is that I don’t get many balls to hit this shot. Most dinks/drops land deeper on the kitchen out behind, which means I have to take the ball out of the air or pivot back to take it off the bounce, neither of which would be ideal for this shot. I think this is because I’m at the 4.0 level and most games are with people at a lower level, and they don’t put a lot of focus on giving me unattackable balls, i.e. balls that land at a least 6” inside the kitchen line. I think those balls are ideal for this shot because you should only have to move side to side.
    So, my goal is to get good enough at attacking balls so that people realize they have to give me unattackable balls. Also play against higher level people who are wise enough to dink.

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah it can be tricky. It all comes down to placement and setting it up. Hit normal one handed backhand dinks until you hit it behind your opponent, then be ready for an easy dink to put both hands on and roll over the net, or be ready for a pop up! Does that make sense?
