That music is so sad. I remember as a kid visiting my grandparents there for the summers. Those used to be some fun times. Things were so vibrant and peaceful in those days. I will never forget this coffee cake from this one bakery there. It used to be near a Piggly Wiggly. I can still taste the butter and caramel from it as it was served hot.
Bye bye American pie, This is a direct result of the Race Riot's in the early 70s there was no police force, to uphold and Law, I used to go boating and camping in Cairo Illinois at fort Defiance national park ,,‼️
We must talk about and grip the reality of the common thread of what caused this and stop looking for people that say they are a victim in all of this I’m sick of it. I’m sick of the bullshit. I’m sick of the fake history and I’m sick of the lies.

Perhaps, in another dimension, the town is still vibrant and full of life.
*Sad, yet peaceful.*

Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing this
Gosh …a beautiful peaceful place …
It really is!
good work on this. captured its charm perfectly
Why is it being made to seem like nobody at all lives in Cairo? That place has a horrifying history, but so do many places in Illinois unfortunately.
It's sad, and cool that abandonned town is clean, without graffitis for example. It's like Japanese abandonned town :)
Japan is a civilization -- we're not.
Wow awesome visual
was there 4 years ago and it's totally different now
"Take me to the bridge where the rivers collide
Down in Cairo, Illinois on a Saturday night
I might jump in..."
-Pokey Lafarge,
Cairo, Illinois
If you stumbled across an old early 1900s grocery store i have the meat slicer and 1904 cash register
How much did Illinois tax you for taking these pictures?
cairo needs Al Bladez

when people that don't work and complain too much look out little towns
Thats what happens to your town when you forbid drag queen story hour at the local library.
Get a life 😮
We can send the migrants there
yeeehaw brother.... and i bet they make the town prosper again and then muhricans will cry that the migrants are taking over america
Jeff, you dont possess the power to send migrants anywhere, and you never will.
But you already know that, right?
of course you do...
Maybe you should try living there first, ya mook.
