I honestly forgot summons were a thing in this game. As a kid I think I only summoned Salamander once by happenstance. I always just ran skills and magic to try and get the true ending because the requirements for that one is a doozy
I remember the first time I saw these summons. I was fighting thoses birds in that valley before Termina and the field was all white and then they release Unicorn, and I was like "wtf?" Good times
Getting these was a chore and a half for real. Whoever did all the summons, God bless you for the toil. In case you don't know to get these summons you have to trap them, so you gotta buy a trap, and it has to take up space in your cache of elements at a high level. You have to know which enemy is even strong enough to do the attack, you got to meticulously choreograph the battle you have with them to make the element bar all the same color, and hope whoever has the trap element has got his element lv up (you got to hit and land blows to bring up your elemental level) enough to set the trap before the enemy hits you with it, and if they do hit you with it before you laid down the trap, you may have just loss right there completely cause these summons hit you hard too.
I don’t think ever used a single summon for as many times as I played this game. I just found it to frustrating to try and get all the elements the same colors when the enemy was the opposite elemental caster. And I didn’t wanna waste time just using all blues for blue enemy’s since it did the lowest dmg, even lower than a basic attack.
You have to capture them, mostly from boss fights. Set a trap and when it’s cast against you, you’ll capture it and then can use it once you have it set.
@@veghesther3204 Sonja can be acquired in the Shadow Forest fighting a single Bulb (Home World) Mothership can be acquired in the Isle of the Damned fighting a single Airframe (Home World)
@@veghesther3204 defend against the Bulb or use low level Green elements like Heal and TurnGreen to make it easy, and also use weak attacks then activate the Sonja trap. It also helps having the Dreamer’s Scarf and Dreamer’s Sash for first-timers.
@@veghesther3204 frog prince it's not missable , if you don't do the water island stuff, a dragonian in fort dragonia will dropp it. And it's an unavoidable battle so no chance to miss it
If the requirements for summons weren't so dumb theyd be useful for the field has to be full red or blue or what ever color the summon is then it can only be cast by someone whos innate color matches so if you want salamander you need a character whos innate color is red ,turn the field all red THEN have enough stars to summon the thing. Not worth it especially with how in final fantasy games you just need to meet the mp requirement to summon things like titan and bahamut.
@@missbradicah even with turn red ,blue which turns the field completely that color in one turn you still need stars and hope the bad guys don't use an element or your whole "strategy" is out the window lol. I just bash heads all day .
@@danthovict381 that's literally what i said in my comment about turning the field a full color. But if the opponent is faster they can mess up your summon. Ive tried summoning mother ship and the moment after i used turn black a cat burgler used a red tech and wrecked my plan.
You know. i gotta admit it. this game was Mid back when it came out. but today in 2024? it is *SERIOUSLY* Mid. i mean, if it was just one Milimeter over on either side of that scale, it would be Terrible, or Amazing. but it is just *FURIOUSLY* Mid.

They either added some or I really need to play this game over cus I don't remember half of these. Did have a tendency not to use them often tho

Most of them are given by story bosses so dont worry about missing out, but the rest you would have to set traps in certains enemies to catch them
