Your demonstration is very good, May I make a suggestion? When placing the light strip start the strip over the needle and pressure foot area, this gives us more light when threading and replacing the needle, also in replacing or changing the pressure feet and looking at our sewing stitches. Maybe not all sewing machine will accommodate for the space to place the light strip near the needle area, however, if it does it really helps. I hopes this helps some sewers! M.

Just saying, dont you think it is ridiculous that so many sewing machines have so bad lighting that we need to get another unit to be able to sew properly. Manufacturers should know better. Also, as some machines are so expensive, I cant believe an appropriate light would make a big difference on their profit.

It gets plus into a USB port but you could then attach that to an extension cord.

Thank you for the demo. A word of advice. If anyone has a painted machine verses a plastic machine, do not use alcohol to clean your machine before applying the light strip. That will surely ruin the paint job.

It looks like a great fix but what is the make and model number of this lighting strip. What is it called exactly? He also has not given the degree of light provided in lumens. I am in Canada and would probably order at amazon.ca but I need the name of it to order it. I found it on amazon.ca and .com. If you install this over the center seam of the machine, if you need your machine serviced they will have to remove the strip...not good. Don't install on center seam!
