Turn off the movie option, and you get access to 999 frames 😊 but you have to make the lapse in post-production if so. Same thing on the Olympus camera 😊

i did not, i don't believe there is a way unfortunately. You can get a larger battery, or plug it in though to overcome the length of time if the battery runs out. the biggest drawback for me is the limit of 299 photos! thanks for the comment!

Wow..Great Video..I do alot of hiking by myself. i'm looking for a camera with a timer,, and this one seems Awesome !!..lol i place the camera in trees, or in logs to get varies Pic.. Is the resolution Good for this Camera. I mean, does it take nice outside pics ?...(Thanks Michael z).

thanks for the comment. it takes very nice pictures, its not a cheap camera. the downside is no shutter speed manual control. it does have some auto settings for night images but no manual shutter if you have any use for that. otherwise, great camera.

This menu is exactly the same on the Olympus Pen-F, except buried under an additional folder, and limited to 999 photos instead of 299. Are you able to turn off the screen or do any other tricks to limit battery consumption during timelapse imaging with the TG-5?

Hello Again..So, I decided to buy this Camera.. So far i've been using it in Auto Mode. It takes good night-time Pics.. But in Auto mode ,, I can't figure out how to turn and leave on the Camera-Flash at night !! ( For some odd reason in Auto Mode the camera rarely uses the Flash ).. Please Help..Thanxs..

thanks for the video - I just got this camera and I think limiting the maximum number of photos to 299 is ridiculous - if you want to do a proper time lapse that is definitely not enough... really a shame!

yep! it seems to only want to do 30 second videos. absolutely no reason this should be limited, its a real short coming i wasn't aware of when i paid $400 for it, the second most expensive camera i've had. that's a lot of money for a point and shoot to not be able to do really unlimited time-lapse photos.

the biggest limitation is that you can't switch off display during TL shooting! ... a TL over 5 hours (299 shoots, 1 per minute) is basically not possible with display on ..

Their implementation of it seems half baked for sure. Youcant do long exposure time lapse either that I can find

you can of course externally power it during that time, would be nice if it went to sleep in between if it had time.
