    Trevlig video med hela historiken!
    Klart en av de snyggaste och mest välbyggda bilarna jag känner till :)

    Did a lot of mods to Samurai's and just starting a Grand Vitara project 2002 ( Chevy tracker ? ). Along similar lines to your Tracker 👍.

    Did you need to change brake booster and or master cylinder?

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did change the master cylinder. I tried one from Volvo 240 first and later on one from Nissan Patrol y61. Brakes was not that great, but good enough on this car. Volvo 240 fits almost right on if I remember right Nissan Patrol nog so much :)

    Creepy tires are a bit to stiff for my light zuk. I got bfg km2 now and they work much better for me. This Sidekick is now fully street legal here in Sweden so I drive a lot on road to. Search for "mrhawk1980"·if you want to see more of this Sidekick.

    Probably going to need some more aggressive tires like iroks because the creepy crawlers are more for rock crawling then what you are doing (Just a thought)

    Have a aussie locker rear, nothing in front axle. Yes still stock 1,6l. I'm building a twin engine gigglepin 8274 winch now. So I have to lie low with the upgrades for a while now :)

    Hi , how much does it cost you to change 2-link to 4-link ?
    What engine did you have on it ?
    Very nice project !

      I don't remember how much it cost to build. I use a set of Toyota LJ70 axles, 6meter 32mm thick wall steel pipe + 16 flexjoints, Suzuki transfercase, uniballs for front panhard bar, highsteer arms, Volvo rear brake calipers with parkingbrake and so. It has a stock 1,6 8valve still. A bit slow but it works very well. I sold it 6-7 moths ago. Thanks.

    Ah okay thx for the reply. I'm trying to figure out what to do first to mine. It's bone stock so it sucks balls in the snow. Thinking of lockers front and rear.

    so...no lockers after all that? Stock 1.6 litre engine?

    What size tire

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      31" first with stock axles and 35" when it got Toyota axles.

      Nice I'm running 35s and toy axels I thought about upgrading to 37s I also have a 4.8 v8 LS

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like you got space to fit 37" and power to spin them :) I got a 5.3 LS in my buggy I drive now.

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that small 1,6 is a bit to weak. But I hardly never brake anything. It's fully street legal and I drive it to all these offroad events. It's for sale soon now when my tube buggy is almost done.

    all that work for what? so you can get stuck constantly! you should have made a video on how to use a winch, you look like a pro.

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was 5 years ago but yeah we use the winch a lot where we drive here in Sweden. I have a Red Winch Hornet on it now. It's under powered but it works nice where we drive. It's a fully street legal car so I can't change the engine to much. Currently building a v8 tube buggy to replace this Sidekick. Going for more power and suspension this time.

    all that work and money on a build and stll not as good as a mediocre wrangler

    • @erniesweden
      @erniesweden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was ~10 years ago and I could not even get a stock YJ for the total cost of this car at the time. This car was driven hard and almost never broke down. It is still working fine and still drives everywhere on the road. Maybe a Wrangler is better, but I could still not get even a bad stock one for that money here in Sweden.
