- A grieving mother said her 18-year-old son is not resting in peace and she blames the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale.

God bless her. It does sound like they are trying to do something to resolve it correctly. If they just go in all willy nilly, they could compromise her son' remains. I pray for her comfort & patience as they try to properly relocate her boy.

Look, I work for a funeral home and currently go to school for this. Plywood is common to cover OPEN graves mainly to people don’t fall but it’s also common to cover the plywood with green fabrics so it looks at least a little appealing. I can’t say the funeral home is 100% at fault without knowing all the information because you can’t just simple disinter someone even if their grave is damaged. This seems like an unfortunate mishap and as a grieving mother, I can’t blame the woman for feeling the way she feels, but we have to remember funeral homes are STRANGLED by law (for obvious reasons) and they have to comply with it even if it makes the grave look bad. I need more info.

I’ve seen holes from desert iguanas at cemeteries. They make holes around the grave stones. Is his grave the only one affected?

Not that I'm being cold, but you live in Florida. A sink hole could open up underneath you literally at any moment. If a sink hole is forming under that grave, that entire part of the cemetery is in danger.
This is true. It would probably be best to ask if a ground water investigation has ever been done. Florida being Florida, it's not high above sea level and it's well known that open areas underground do indeed exist.
i think he should move 2 another grave yard as who eva owns that graveyard is mean & disrespectful. shame on the owners.
