Most of the areas he mentions inside Louisville such as St Matthews or Shivley(Vastly different environments from one another), have their own 3rd party governing established. There are many of these inside Louisville but Jtown, Shivley, St Matthews, and Audubon are either the largest or have a large tax base. We looked in three counties because the inventory was so low. We ended up in Middletown with a For Sale by Owner house and the realtor closed both sides. Love my secret neighborhood off Shelbyville Rd.. Living near Paul’s is priceless. 😆

Thank you for that great video. I am considering buying a quadplex investment property in Louisville to live in one of the units. I’m still trying to choose a safe and desirable area with a good rental market but your video was a good start.
I live in Louisville. The west end is not a good area to live at. Within the last couple years 2 of my younger cousins got murdered in the west end. One of my uncles got robbed and murdered just walking to the store. Another one of my family members got car jacked at the Kroger's on broadway around 7am in the morning and the robber shot him in the head. One of my cousins use to be the manager at the pizza hut that use to be on broadway years ago. He got robbed at gun point trying to close the restaurant. Stay away from the west end. Only go there if you have too. It doesn't matter if you just mind you business. Things can still happen to you. The west end is also a terrible place to raise kids. A lot of the young kids down there carry guns. They don't fight anymore. Your kids would be in danger. The best areas to live is 25 to 35 mins away from downtown.
