I remember Haynes and Grenage used to score below 10 runs in two inning ,but never droop. Players have to feed the comforts to perform
I have been listening to cricket since 1984. I am quite aware of the frailties of WI cricket. I am not a fan of T20 cricket but I do speak on it because our players play this format of the game. West Indian cricketers invented T20 styled cricket. Sobers, Khanai, Kallicharan, Richards, Fredericks, Collis King, Brian Lara, Carl Hooper, they all batted with a T20 mindset. West Indies administrators/stakeholders never thought of seeing beyond what was in front their eyes and other nations took what we are good at and added value to it. Now with regards to players failing and being dropped. The West Indies cricket team never replaced the greats of the late 70s, 80, very early 90s. So that mentality of constantly looking for the next good player took a hold because we never put systems in place to ensure the next generation of cricketers would be as good as the ones they replaced.

My only disagreement is you not including Shai Hope. He is a transformed t20 batsmen and can anchor when required. I also think Russell’s bowling cannot be trusted at the death.
In the grand scheme of things Shai is a luxury. The way I see it, he is only of benefit if he bats at the top of the order. Because our bowling is not what it needs to be Chase has to play. The only person who can legitimately make room for him is Hope.

Three spinners means you have to sacrifice a batsman which will be counterproductive to West Indies batting philosophy.

Chase will be needed as a 5/6th bowler. Added to the fact that he has a stellar economy rate and will be a handful on these Caribbean pitches.
