I agree. I was a Contact Representative at the IRS for six years (2009-2015). I worked very hard, as did many of my co-workers, to help ordinary Americans with the bullshit tax code system that Congress has developed)
He makes me proud too and I'm not even an American, just from a United States allied country such as Italy.

After the farce of the previous “administration,” we now have people in charge of foreign policy who are dedicated, intelligent, and dignified - beginning with President Biden. I am proud that Anthony Blinken represents our country abroad.

Left handedness runs in the men in my family. So far, haven't had a son myself yet. I always thought right handedness was the anomaly, untill I discovered all the scissors in school were for right handed people. Then i realized i was the wierdo.
Bonus skill: in the Marine corps, we ALWAYS are on the right flank on a patrol, or in a foxhole, so much so that command will place us strategically, knowing our ability to cover the right greatly surpasses any right handed shooter.

All those things you mentioned are important attributes of a good diplomat. Biden gave us one of the best. We badly needed someone like this to pickup the pieces after the orange ogre. Honestly he is one of the first officials in government that has given me hope for peace and helped me understand that we are actually helping the Ukrainian people 🙏🙏🙏thanks for this interview ! This man is the kind of Americans we used to have in government , we need more like him

I've never really listened to Blinkin before right now. I don't know how lethal his bite is, but his bark is freaking awesome! This is the guy we need standing up in front of the media for the Democratic party! I'm so worried that Dems will fumble at the 10yd line and we will return to GOP lead Congress that will, very likely, change the very fundamentals of who & what America is and who & what we strive to be. A media mouthpiece like his could be the difference to losing our democracy as we know it. I know that we can start making significant changes for the American people, once we can get a true majority elected, maybe even politicians who know that they are supposed to represent the will of their constituents, not their own selfish scams! Listening to him is engaging and hopeful and unifying. This man needs to be on the news everyday on all channels!

We needed Blinken in office back in 2000, when the State Department's mission was to help obliterate the Middle East. Or Vietnam in the 1970s. Or Korea in the 1950s. How times change.
I’ve spoken with Vietnamese and Koreans who think what America did to help them fight communism in their northern regions was A.O.K. I know there were excessive raids and bombardments but it’s strange for us to feel sorry for helping them fight communism while they wanted us there. It was China and Russia fueling communism then too.

Biden's centrism is as painfully boring as it always has been... but after the last guy, I'm so grateful for his experience. I say that I voted for Dr Biden far more than for her husband. She and I share an Alma Mater from a university historically known for being the state teachers' college. It's just nice to have qualified people with lots of actual experience in charge again, including the First Lady who has continued to teach after Biden won. After Betsy DeFundtheschools, having an actual educator in the President's ear is just amazing.

This is what conservatives don't get or just ignore about any kind of foreign aid: it's money that goes to dealing with a problem somewhere else before it becomes a problem at home. It also goes a long way to securing influence, so your rivals don't get a foothold.

I hadn't heard a word about truce effected in either Ethiopia or Yemen. This is the problem with democrats; they don't talk about their accomplishments enough.
True; but the media do not pick it up when they try. Good things do not sound very exciting and excitement gets vieuwers. On the left; critism gets the vieuwers. So they critizise. They critizise the left and the right. But do not praise much, because praising does not get attention. The right does almost the same, they critizise the left, which gets them vieuwers and they praise the right, which also keeps them. Therefor you get an inaccurate vieuw. Even when the media tries to do it right. You have to actively search to get a complete picture.
Also; the why and how is not fit for one-liners. Lots of things have explanations that give another vieuw to a matter. But it can be framed mean. Like the supplychain-issues. A lot is because of dependence on cheap products outside the US that are not doing well at all. Beacause of politics and circumstances there. Biden can not fix that. He is not magical. We in Europe have a lot of the same problems. Some smaller, because we gave our companies and people more support, so they could start up easier and earlier. We did not have the huge drop in production and spike when re-started. The US system is different. We do have problems because of other countries that did have stops. So there is talk about getting less depended on Chinese cheap parts, like chips and medicine. But we do not blame our own government much for these.
We off course, do blame Putin for the Oekraïne war and not just because of how devastating it is for Oekraïne, but also for us. Because our financial crisis was over. We had nice growth of the economy again. People were having jobs and still money to spend. And now we do not have growth and fuel is a problem. We should and could have been independ of Russia before this happend. We have enough sun and wind to be it. But Europe tends to folow America too much and America had Trump. So not enough indepence by renewable energy. Now even our rightwingers see the sense in renewables.
It is a joy to see Biden and Blinken. Biden is very American, but also like our better middle-politicians. Good sense and not to proud to listen to good ideas. He gets a lot of what Europe allready has working for years for our people. And wants to make an American-style version of the best parts of it. We welcome the steal. His plans would have been common sense here. Not leftish at all. But good for people ánd the economy.
Blinken and Biden have a different charme, but both are welcome. Blinken is the thoughtfull kind. True diplomat. But open in how things are presented. Not all are. That means he has a good leading person who wants the feel of it. Biden is also direct and open in what he says without being nasty. It is a relief. He is very pro-American, but we expect that. Both do respect us as allies and work with Europe. They gained much trust by how they do this. I think it was this wat made Europe accept America as leading. They did press the issue when needed, but by being factual and showing why. Not because of being the bigger player. We all know America is bigger. America under Biden gets the sovereignty of other countries. Not just of that of Oekraïne, but of each of our nations too. We like to be asked, not told.
(Also; I like how Biden stumbles a bit sometimes. And that he does not get mad when he does, but can laugh about himself. He is very human and likeable. Unlike the orange boasting crybaby.) The USA is powerfull. Being human while being very sensible and thoughtfull and able to listen, suits such a position. No need for arrogance. Arrogance means we would in our heart of hearts want to see the bully fall and fail. Being warm means we want to see them succeed and work with such a person to make it come true.
The media never reports on the great stuff people do. Just the stuff that makes headlines sadly.
More politicians should play music. Better relations, better harmony, and smile through the mistakes and at the end, get those good vibrations for the rest of us

When you see someone become musical after watching them describe the difficult and serious nature of their work. You have a whole new view of them.
