Anhelina is top 20 material for sure. I see her breaking into the ranks soon. As for Emma, I’ve said it before - she needs to look into her physical conditioning before she can think of going deep into a tournament. She may not need a full-time coach, but she sure as hell needs a full-time physical trainer to working on her conditioning or else injuries are going to plague her down the road.
She’s had limited matches this year and she’s gotten to the 3rd round now in 2 tournaments straight which is an improvement and you can see she’s progressively getting better physically.

I figured Emma would likely lose this. Kalinina is extremely dangerous on every surface expecially clay. Kalinina arguably has the best backhand on tour and not even Emma’s technically flawless one comes close. She do everything with it and it’s perfect nearly every time. Kalinina’s game sense is also top tier. Emma is still learning which is good for her so let’s not be negative about her. It’s her first full year on tour and each match she can gain experience from win or lose but today was Kalinina’s day and she’s played amazing all tournament. Best of luck to both ladies in the future.
absolutely spot on , Kalinina backhand is frightening too good against all other girls indeed !!! never play to her backhand !!! bring her to the front , and send the ball to the back ...make her run front and back more will do the trick
yep even swiatek has said after the match versus kalinina that she was suprised by the speed of kalininas game, she can beat on her day basically everyone
actually it were very few unforced errors if u consider the speed of shots of Kalinina and the amount of risk/offensive play she was trying to do, Raducanu also played amazing, Serena sometimes did the same amount of unforced in 1 set that Kalinina did in 3 sets
That’s why we watch sport. How boring would it be if the players/teams beat everyone they were expected too? WTA has a lot of depth so it’s more competitive.
This one hurts. Emma had a golden opportunity here. If her back keeps bothering her, she should take some time off to get it healed. A 19 year old athlete shouldn't be suffering from persistent back pain.
She knows better. She knows everything - like she said in interview - she can coach herself. You'll see, she'll be back (pun not intended) more healthy than ever, destroying everyone and everything and world will look in awe, love and fear....
She had the pain from the onset of the match if you had watched. Wasn't an excuse. Ppl say she gives excuses when lost. On the flip side, it was the pain that caused her to lose. At such high intensity match, one has to be 100% fit. She wasn't and lost a close call decider
at 2.26 why emma always does that shot ???????? her opponents already knew her shots . she keeps on making those shots . from what i have seen emma doesn't listen to critics she keeps on doing her things . she simply doesn't know how to beat an opponent whenever the rallies get tough . i don't think she will be successful with an attitude ike that !!!! you are very young u need to listen in order to improve . she thinks she knows everything . sorry to say that but in most matches she keeps on doing those shots !!!
She dynamically changed her game after the second set. Graphs were shown in the full match for both players as they both adapted to outwit the other. You cannot get any sense of that from watching highlights so your comment is misleading.
my praise for Emma...she has done her best...given all in this match...she might have quit, but she did not...you may lose in the match, but you have won a bigger place in our heart..fight on champ :))
This was a very close match that could have gone either way, it was tense and nervy at the end and you didn't really know who was going to win the match until the very last point. Statistically on the total points won in the match it was actually a draw with both players winning 80 points each out of the 160 points played, the total service points won was 46 out of 80 for each player and the total return points won was 34 out of 80 for each player. Kalinina is a very good clay court player who just dished out a bagel to a Top Ten Player Muguruza in the previous round, she is playing really great tennis at the moment and has great potential. Raducanu has had a really good tournament even though she just lost this close match, she has shown that she has a very good clay court game that has huge potential going forward. It will be interesting to see how both players get on at Roland Garros this year.
Emma's return balls are still falling half court easy to kill off by the opponent. Also, many times she does not hit the ball to the open court but straight back at the opponent. Sge played a tame game.
I've watched Raducanu's game and noticed that she plays like she's still having a practice game with her hitting partner. She often seems to assist her opponent to comfortably return the ball to her. I'm afraid she'll be a has been sooner than later.
Yes Emma 's equally good and could've played to win if she did'nt give the ball so so generously to her opponent Makes me wonder if she' s helping her to win! These guys who only relate to rankings and keep making not only cruel and unfair but incorrect accusations of h e r only reflect on themselves. Its expected Emma cant and. might not always want to win. Shes a young and beautiful player, not a hard nosed bot. And she's 'not just playing when she likes but Emma' s working damned hard to play against a huge variety of characters and ages of world class players for Queen and country. Besides, Emma's score playing the world's top tennis players like Iga and Ahlinda (? sorry) nail her own high stan'dard of playing and really, there's no guarantee that either of them can win the USO grand slam 2023! For the those who read they should be aware it takes more than ranki'ng and n'umbers to get one to win a grand slam! Emma's three matches i'n Madrid show us she 's on par with the top players in the WTA. That I know but I don't' know why Emma often gives the balls awayto attack her... something to do with charity or keeping up the rallies?
@@ReTracer Crafting a point is definitely not assisting an opponent to score a point. It's all there for all to see. Most points made by her opponents were winners and not by her unforced errors.
@@patricesankara3081 I'm unsure how, at this early stage in her career you can make such an assessment? To date she's only played in 3 Grand Slam tournaments. One she was granted a wild card entry into, and she made it into the second week. The next she had to qualify for, and amazingly she won it. And in the third she lost in the second round. If parting with her coach was a mistake, which coach are you talking about? One of the many she had while she was a junior? The one she had during her run at Wimbledon? The one she had she had during her run at the the US Open? Or Torben Beltz, the coach she's most recently split from? Emma has always been guided by her parents, and her father has always decided who should be her coach. He is well known for his unconventional approach. He considers coaches to be tutors, not moulders. To him, they're teachers with knowledge, knowledge that he wants imparted to his daughter, but once imparted he always looked for teachers with different knowledge. He does not believe that any single coach knows enough to help his daughter fulfil her potential. He literally milks them for everything the know, and then discards them. This is certainly a ruthless approach with regard to coaches, but he's a tennis outsider, a financial person by profession. And he has an analytical mind. Emma has accepted his guidance because she too has an analytical mind, as evidenced by her A level results. But analysing all her matches won't make her a better player and she knows this. She needs to train hard and regularly, this she has always done. She's renowned for her work ethic. What she knows and accepts is that she lacks match experience against top players. No amount of training can substitute for that. She doesn't know her limits. Do you think she 'wanted' to retire at Wimbledon? I don't think that you one of her detractors who say every MTO she takes is a strategic ploy. She's not a tour hardened professional, but she's a supremely fit young lady who's playing tennis against other supremely fit girls and women. But she also has the X Factor. I'm not sure exactly what that is, butfulfil her potential, and I'm prepared to wait for few years.

Also note kalinina is 25 with her 1st wta QF. So it does take years to even get to a QF. Emma won her GS in just her 2nd major debut without having any wta experience. Given time, Emma will be smashing her way through these events with experience gained.

amazing match from both girls, really clean ball striking, ive noticed Kalinina during her match vs Swiatek, her ball striking and speed can beat basically any player from WTA when she is on, Raducanu also is progressing, great 1st serve %,, great ball striking, super defense and rarely any mistakes, ive really liked ball hitting from Alexandrova last months aswell

Nice to see the overhyped Raducanu get ousted 👍
Anhelina is top 20 material for sure. I see her breaking into the ranks soon. As for Emma, I’ve said it before - she needs to look into her physical conditioning before she can think of going deep into a tournament. She may not need a full-time coach, but she sure as hell needs a full-time physical trainer to working on her conditioning or else injuries are going to plague her down the road.
She’s had limited matches this year and she’s gotten to the 3rd round now in 2 tournaments straight which is an improvement and you can see she’s progressively getting better physically.
25 yo in is considered a Veteran in the Tennis world…she need to strengthen her mental to win more…as for 19 yo seems, it’s great achievement already playing on Clay as she’s more inclined for grass and hard courts most of her playing time… just give her another few more tourneys and then totally rest one or two months to have full checks on her body for any body issues… cheers up to both ladies
Kalinina playing really good close match quality shots from both
Wonderful match!! Both the players were at their best, drop shots of Radacannu were great. Final set was crucial for kalinanin, but the consistent game gave her the winner. Congrats 👍🏻👍🏻
Such smart tennis by Kalinina!!!
Great match, Kalinina is playing amazing, also Emma had a lot of progress in her clay game, maybe this was her best performance on clay specially in the second set and at some moments of the third.

This one hurts. Emma had a golden opportunity here. If her back keeps bothering her, she should take some time off to get it healed. A 19 year old athlete shouldn't be suffering from persistent back pain.
Did she have a back pain or did she need a break?. She came back really strong.
She knows better. She knows everything - like she said in interview - she can coach herself. You'll see, she'll be back (pun not intended) more healthy than ever, destroying everyone and everything and world will look in awe, love and fear....
That’s an excuse when she loses. She must learn to give credit to her opponents tbh. It’s a bad look from her.
@@stef2330 She must learn a lot of things or she won't go much further.
I believe the tournament will be won by either Ons Jabear (spell check) or Halep.

Interesting stats.

Emma's return balls are still falling half court easy to kill off by the opponent.

Besides, Emma's score playing the world's top tennis players like Iga and Ahlinda (? sorry) nail her own high stan'dard of playing and really, there's no guarantee that either of them can win the USO grand slam 2023! you know this? she's 19 freakin' years old!
@@patricesankara3081
I'm unsure how, at this early stage in her career you can make such an assessment?
