Man, I like the idea but those lights are ugly bro, and losing the Blindspot monitoring. Can’t say I’m a fan. You guys are awesome Moto built is awesome but I don’t think these tail lights are it.
@@DIRTROADCRED absolutely man I love your guises videos! And you’re right the only thing that matters is that you like them I’m Thinking the paint to match will help I think the 3-D print look is what really killed it for me other than losing the Blindspot. I do love the way they incorporated the Baja designs reverse lights.
The slim light there looks good. Maybe if you live in Vancouver, Toronto, or New York blind spot may be helpful but I didn't need it in my TJ and ordered my 22 JT Rubicon without it. They look like cool lights and I'm sure 80% can live without blindspot
Those are not as bright as the lights you have already on there, and frankly they look unfinished, and clumsy at best. But as long as your happy than that’s all that matters, not for me or my jeep though.
I’m sure if you worked enough with 3d printing software, and had the files for the wrangler tub or scanned them you could probably sketch something up. I am happy with the Engineers work at Motobilt on these.
@@DIRTROADCRED Bought them in 2020, still work fine and still bright as they were new. No issues with the LED's. Minor issue is the Blind Spot monitor doesn't pickup as good as the factory location because it doesn't stick out farther like factory. Since I have the factory LED Package, I do get the Tail Lights Out Warning only when I start the engine, then it goes away.
Are they stamped on the tail light SAE/DOT approved, hidden info you need to know. This cat has good info most of the time but let’s face it he’s a vender ho
In my opinion... the OEM taillights are like the front headlights, iconic to the Jeep Wrangler brand. Good video and thanks for sharing but I'll stick with my honkers. 👍
I’ve been waiting for someone to review these. I’ve had my eye on them since they were announced and like the look of them. Especially the separately controlled rear lights. A relay can easily make them work for both reverse and aux controlled.
Hey man gotta admit at first when you pulled em out of the box it got oh no… they looked cheap… but in the jeep they tuck in SO Good! And look awesome! I love that bikini blue, sweet ride man!
My factory LED tail lights are perfectly fine. Being a safety feature, I see no reason to ever replace them with aftermarket. I would rather invest elsewhere, but that’s just my opinion. Glad you are happy with them, just not for me.
@@DIRTROADCRED I have the same one idk why I’m not a fan of it anymore but can I guess what’s the next step for you guys? I’m guessing you guys are gonna end up with the drop down trunk bed from motobilt!? Now that would be sick with the painted new lights
Neat looking, but certainly, at that price, an “investment” into the vehicle. Not really sure about the BD lights on the bottom as the integrated white reverse lights make these almost vestigial. But sometimes it costs a little to “look cool” doesn’t it……RYAN!
Hello Matt and Ryan! Love the channel and all the Jeep stuff you guys have even if I own a Bronco. I still watch Jeep wrangler stuff! You should mention that these lights are not DOT approved and only meant for ofdroad use. Keep up the great work and y’all’s Jeeps are looking super sweet!
Thank you for the comment and I appreciate you taking the time to chat on our channel, we have a bronco down the street and he is a good friend, should we put in on the channel more?
Like others i would not like loosing the proximity sensor which is why i have bought others. That price tag is very high as well, but you do get the baja design lights.
Thank you for your reply, I compared a lot of different options before these came out, and honestly the only aftermarket which did retain the BSM was the oracle lights, which are made in china and have had 50-50 reviews on it working or not. I like this design, and will like them even more when they are color matched!
Looks cool, Matt! Looks like nice quality product. I know people don’t like the tail lights sticking off of the Gladiators either. I know it’s kind of quirky look, but I love my LED factory tail lamps on my Gladiator. Something that I just found out a couple years ago was when I was putting on a decal stripe around my bed of my Gladiator is that I noticed how curved the bed is. I thought it was straight down the sides, but it’s not. Just a fun fact.
The idea of this is great but it does looks like you pick the cheapest Amazon taillight you can find. It got to keep up with the LED technology and not going back to 1st Gen LED and how much?? No thanks.
Motobilt makes some good stuff, but they dropped the ball on these. You may truly like them and thats great. Build your jeep your way. Oracle makes a flush mount LED tail light as well, been out for a few years. And they keep the blind spot sensor, they are less expensive and they wrap around the side for better visibility. Honestly, this isn't what I was hoping this channel was going to be, Dirt Road Cred..sorry but no. You feel like an infomercial for sponsors. You've loss some cred with me. I'm sure some people like these sort of videos, but I'm out.
I do truly like them, just like the rest of their parts. I think their engineers did a fantastic job creating these and making them fit and function perfectly. I am sorry if you do not like this style of content, we try to do our best for our audience, more wheeling content is in the future, but just like anything filming an off-road trip takes an incredible amount of planning and support.
The oracle’s wrap around the side is one of the issues with them compared to these. These were designed to be ultra low profile so that when you are off road you have much less of a risk of ripping them off. This is why they do not have the BSM system as it would cause the tail light to stick out past the side of the Jeep like the Oracles do and would easily get torn off when wheeling. Also the auxiliary Baja Design’s lights are perfect for those extreme night outings or just setting up camp. The customers who purchase these are are more interested in these benefits than not having to look over their shoulder when merging into traffic.
Hey guys the no blindspot monitoring kind of stinks- that is an important feature for me. I also think I like the look of original better. I think I might like them better as I get used to them. Bill nice Jeep. Made in the USA- love that!!!
Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon... think I'll stick with my OEM LED tail lights on my Wrangler. Not wanting expensive 3D printed non-DOT approved lights on my ride.
It looks like it’s a mixed bag on the DOT approved side, I don’t think the stock led tail lights are legal without the small reflectors in the rear bumper either, I’ll have to look into it more
Fortunately they are made in the USA, and I think the engineers at Motobilt did a fantastic job designing them for fit and finish. Appreciate you stopping by the channel.
I am happy with the finish and honestly am impressed at how their engineers designed and built these, the amount of time it takes to custom make a part like this is pretty intensive. Thank you for watching.
They look cheap and brightness looks like it underperforms compared to stock LED. Also the Motobuilt ones don't even look like they fill the entire cavity of the stock LEDs. Looks like there was a gap when installed. Hard pass man. They look cheap and brightness level sucks compared to stock LED.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I am very happy with them and will be even more happy with the custom paint going on them. Thank you for watching

Nice lights, but I prefer my Oracle Flush-mount taillights. Just as low profile and also plug and play. They also support the blind-spot monitoring if you have it.
I like the almost throwback look of the circular design but for $800 ... ouch. I guess if their going to go up against other high-end aftermarket options, they gotta match the prices.
The main thing is no other tail light out there includes a high quality set of Baja design S2 Auxillary lights with the tail lights. Most people are just thinking tail lights but you’re actually getting a set of auxillary lights as well.
I wish they retained reflectors, and had a replaceable bulb option for the tail light. I'm all for LEDs for driving light output. I prefer serviceable bulbs for signals.
Honestly I don’t think the factory lights have reflectors either, that’s why they put the small red ones in the rear bumper of jeeps equipped with the LED package.
There is a decent amount of money in just the lighting alone, plus add the cost of engineering in the USA and making them here and it gets up there pretty quick

Question. I’m new to the Jeep community so sorry for my ignorance. But I’ve seen a lot of base rubicons or even Willys with the Xtreme Recon package, but you can’t add it when building your own on Jeeps website. Do they no longer take builds with that package or how do you go about add in that to your build? Thanks!
@@DIRTROADCRED Thank you for that! I appreciate the clarification. Hopefully they bring it back, would love to spec one out with the recon package. For now I’ll just have to look for ones with it 👍🏼
Those taillights look sick on the 392 and super bright 🔥 would be sick if you’d paint match the light housing to the Bikini Blue but the black looks great!
I have to agree with some other posts, you are losing safety features and they are less bright and noticeable. They look awesome though but not worth the features you lose to me as I got kids with me and the big reason I got the version I did was for blindspot monitoring.
There are a few other options out there as others have mentioned, oracle keeps popping up on this list, which is a surprise as everyone keeps saying these Motobilt BUILT IN THE USA lights are being called “Chinese”, Oracle is in fact made in china and we read very spotty reviews about the LEDs working and the Blind spot working with the jeep after install. I thoroughly enjoy these lights, and that’s the best part of the Jeep world is that a ton of vendors make a ton of different parts for everyone’s taste and budgets!
To each their own I guess.. but not digging the look. And as far as "high clearance", don't see these being much more tucked than the Oracle ones already out there.
@@DIRTROADCRED to me the tail lights of the wrangler are unique and do not look like tails on any other vehicle..These lights, seem to take away that look by blending in with the body and making the jeep like more like a regular SUV...Not for me, but to each his own...Do like you vids though..Keep em coming, very entertaining.........
LOL I have enjoyed your videos for a while now. BUT, are you seriously concerned about "tail light clearance" ?!?!? How often are you going vertical or horizontal where the less than an inch makes a difference.... AND, not like they are durable to rub against anything... Just silly
not liking the bias here. you're excluding other products like the Combat Off Road Tail Gunner LED Tail Lights. BTW, these look cheap and have the word sport on it.. has MADE IN CHINA all over it.

Thanks!
You used to be able to add them onto the factory builds however I believe it’s not available right now!
Thank you! Actually just shipped them to distinction applied to do some custom work to them!
I have to agree with some other posts, you are losing safety features and they are less bright and noticeable. They look awesome though but not worth the features you lose to me as I got kids with me and the big reason I got the version I did was for blindspot monitoring.
Understandable!
Can I buy your old tail lights?
You lose the blind spot monitoring sensors for that kind of money.
No thanks.
Is there a separate wiring harness for the lower led lights? Something that I can wire into the aux switches?
Actually stay tuned to the channel, we will have a custom harness coming soon from us that will solve that problem!
To each their own I guess.. but not digging the look. And as far as "high clearance", don't see these being much more tucked than the Oracle ones already out there.
You mentioned they are trail only. Does that mean they are not street legal?
No these are street legal.
@@BobbyCox-cl9nsthanks
How do I remove that sensor on my 2021 392 can you do a video on that
TAZER
Luke is correct, Tazer is how you disable it!
800 dollar taillights 👏
Definitely up there in price!
And auxiliary Baja designs back up lights. I.e. 2 in 1
$786.00 not has bright and no blind spot monitor , I'll pass !!!!
So you’re running Baja lights now? 🤔
They only make them with Baja lol
What do you have to do to connect the lower white lights?
Run a positive and negative to the light, I’ll have a harness soon to help!
Do you know how much those are $789 wow
Yup!
Not worth loosing blind side indicators.
What's next, angry eyes for the rear
Actually thinking of doing an angry grill next
@@DIRTROADCRED to me the tail lights of the wrangler are unique and do not look like tails on any other vehicle..These lights, seem to take away that look by blending in with the body and making the jeep like more like a regular SUV...Not for me, but to each his own...Do like you vids though..Keep em coming, very entertaining.........
What top do you run? I've never seen it in person
Factory mopar top, just have the rear windows all removed!
Can I have your stock ones? Lol
lol I will have a pretty big for sale post coming up soon!
37 plus look ridiculous on the tailgate in my opinion
Lol
LOL I have enjoyed your videos for a while now. BUT, are you seriously concerned about "tail light clearance" ?!?!? How often are you going vertical or horizontal where the less than an inch makes a difference.... AND, not like they are durable to rub against anything... Just silly
lol I have seen the stock lights get thrashed pretty good off road, I like them more for the look
not liking the bias here. you're excluding other products like the Combat Off Road Tail Gunner LED Tail Lights. BTW, these look cheap and have the word sport on it.. has MADE IN CHINA all over it.
We did not do a taillight comparison video here, this was to showcase a new product. The Combat LED Tail Lights are great, however I personally liked this style more. They are made in the USA. Thank you for watching.
Do you mind sharing your contact in Fl that does paint match?
Yes distinction applied!
@@DIRTROADCRED Thanks! Messaged them.
