Yeah I like to try finding games that have horses cuz it seems like actual horse games are rather 1. Terrible looking 2. Very boring finding games on my ps4 is hard when I want a horse game so I try to find games with them cuz there more worth my time plus I like playing rdr2 stories there great to me

I got interested in Red Dead 1 as a kid cuz it had horses. Everything else in the game I ended up liking too. My love for horses is part of what got me into gaming. Any game that had a horse I wanted to play. I'm just imaging how much younger me would have loved Red Dead 2 with the huge map, multiple horse breeds & coats, updated mechanics & realistic graphics. Red Dead is the closest to my dream horse game as I ever been. I started out cuz of my past horse girl self, so I don't blame anyone else that plays red Dead for the horses, cuz me too! The horses are my favorite part, but i eventually learned to enjoy everything else games have to to offer as well.
This game is a better Mafia game than most Mafia games out there. You can extort people in various ways, do hits on bounties, technically money launder, drink and smoke like a gangster, intercept or steal cargos and steal money from gangs.
Its also a better hunting game than many hunting games, with cover scent, herbivore and predator bait, a tracking system, pelt quality and things like using the right gun so as not to damage the pelt and calling animals to expose the head for a cleaner shot.
Right up until you see a beefed up half naked man with a mushroom cap and a bandit mask riding up to you on an actual donkey, hatchet in hand and death in his eyes. (Edit: This is a very specific situation, because this man happens to be my bff, ride or die and potential romantic partner in RDR2 Online.)
I'm so glad that there's a size mod! The Arabians have some of the best stats in the game but I still chose not to use them because seeing a grown man on such a tiny horse just felt like I was watching horse abuse happening right in front of my eyes. If it were real life I'd never let a grown man sit on such a tiny horse, especially not for such long stretches of time. Another reason why I chose the Missouri Fox Trotter over the Arabian is because those Arabians are incredibly easy to spook in comparison. I use a glitch to get the silver dapple pinto Missouri Fox Trotter in chapter 3 (or maybe earlier than that, can't remember). It takes me about half an hour and a lot of tension but it's worth it! For anyone who's interested: get to Arcadia For Amateurs III as soon as possible (those are the stranger missions for Albert Mason, the wildlife photographer). SAVE BEFORE YOU START THE MISSION. You'll be prompted to herd a bunch of horses across the plain for Albert to photograph. Among them is the silver dapple pinto. Get into Eagle Eye, single out the pinto and engage tracking on it. Herd the horses towards Mason as prompted and get back into Eagle Eye frequently before it runs out again. Try to "refresh" your Eagle Eye right before you enter the next cutscene with Albert. Skip through it, and get into Eagle Eye again as soon as possible to refresh the trail again. The horses are gone, but for some reason the tracking trail leading towards the pinto still works. Now, follow that trail, making sure to keep refreshing your Eagle Eye because once it runs out, the trail will be gone and you'll have to start over. You'll be tracking for quite a long time, and for some reason the beginning of the trail is always the same, leading you northwest with a couple of curves and swerves. Once you locate the horse, take a deep breath in and out because this bit is going to be stressful. You need to catch the horse, jump on it, and tame it. But the stressful part is that moving quickly makes your Eagle Eye run out faster. As long as the horse is in view, it won't disappear, and you can lose it behind a hill or a bunch of trees and it might still be there, but once it's out of sight you can't pick up the trail anymore. So pick your battles. Either catch it right away, or keep tracking it carefully until it gets to an area that makes catching a little easier (every time I've done this the horse is between a lot of trees when you find it). Once you catch and tame it, YOU CAN NOT DISMOUNT until you reach a stable and save your horse inside. So you have to commit to riding it all the way back to a stable once you get on it. If you save and reload, the horse will be gone. If you dismount, you can't get on again (in my experience). If you fall off, you're screwed too. So be very, very careful. While riding it to the stable - if I remember correctly - you can't bond with the horse and there are barely any interactions available because it's mostly a glitch. Once you've ridden it to a stable and saved it, and preferably also saved your game, the horse is all yours. If you lose the horse before completing the entire process, reload the save you made before starting the mission and start from the beginning again. Be prepared for a long haul. Especially in the beginning it can be really frustrating to track the horse because the trail gets glitchy sometimes too, but eventually you'll learn what the path roughly is and you'll be able to get to the horse faster. Took me at least four tries before I got it the first time.

I have the black arabian in my online account (played as female) and she is my bravest horse, she doesn't spook and throw me at any predator except for alligators, and occasionally the grizzly bears.
This Eagle Eye glitch should still be possible, but in case you need another option, there's one where you can put stagecoaches in front of where the horses run and cause them to stop for a little. It gives you a better chance of catching up to them! There should be video tutorials on this site somewhere.
Honestly, RDR's amazing horse mechanics were one of the reasons I got the game, then i became a blood thirsty outlaw and things went on from there. I love my mustang.
I hate how people make fun of others for how they play the game all I say when someone tells me how I should play the game is “I was the one that paid 60$ for it,I’ll play the game how ever I want” and also playing the game the way you want doesn’t affect others just play how you want to and don’t do anything rude or mean to others. :)
But that's not the reason why Rockstar made a sequel to a successful Western game called "Red Dead Redemption" for players to only ride on horses and roam around the map of game, that's totally not the concept of game. That's like watching a Disney film but you skip the musical scenes.
i bought this game originally for story mode, but i stayed for the trail rides with friends, buying matching horses with your posse, leading your horse around fields, buying every pretty horse you see, making cute matching outfits, etc
I love your videos and in fact my husband bought the game for the graphics but when I saw the horses’ graphics I became in love with the game. In fact I finished the story and I am currently playing online and I just enjoy riding sometimes with nothing to do , and just switch mounts so that I feel that I care for all my horses. They do have their own personalities! Lol I live in the city so I usually say that after work, I’m going horseback riding - all my friends and coworkers know what that means: rdr2 time. A good percentage of the game is just the player riding on their horse to get to quest locations etc. It's more satisfying to have these mods installed to make it more immersive ☺️

I've just finished adding over 50 mods to my RDR2 game. Been playing on xbox for weeks doing a second playthrough to get 100% completion and your video of how to mod the game came up on TH-cam. I'll admit, when my niece gave me the game (I didn't go online for 2 years) all I did was play it as a horse game and I love it that way to this day (4 years on)
I’m constantly legit just walking across the map on exteeeeeended trail rides by my damn self. Real time usually a couple hours. If we could breed horses I would be forever content
I've been on the fence about adding mods to my PC account. This looks awesome! I was actually giving up on my PC account since I play it solo and griefing from modders in this game got very tiring! I make a lot of cinematic videos using this game..This is perfect for that. Thanks, Abigail!
Same here. I put so much effort into my account solo but gave up because I was sick of getting gakked by kids with aimbots while I was minding my own business :( rockstar doesnt do much about this issue either. They only care about gta.
I would love it if they added more horse scenarios and actions along with more horse breeds. For example add horse activities such as dressage, rodeo, etc. As well as newer horse breeds and newer coats. I would also love it if there were more tack and somewhat like how star stable, saddles boost things. Like a saddle that boosts jump height or a saddle that boosts speed. Mainly jump height, because I love jumping with my horses in game. Anyways- The main things I want are Horse activities as I mentioned at the beginning of this comment such as Rodeo, Dressage and more! For example Short Jumping competitions, more race challenges etc. I generally think this would be amazing.

Over all the game is great and I love it, my favorite thing to do is lasso people and drown them in the river- (which is probably gonna turn me into a physcopath) but yeah, there’s my reason.

My original reason for wanting to play RDR2 is because HORSES. You can ride HORSES.I actually looked up games that let you ride horses and they are woefully few. Now I play the game because it's just the incredible. And I need that dog companion mod.

RDR1 was a life changing gaming experience for me. I thought they nailed it with horses. RDR2 took it to the next level and I love it. I’m on my second play through and I am just living in Chapter 2 being a horse trainer. Love this game!! Love to know so many gamers are out there loving their digital companions as much as me. 😂 Game on!
I hunt and train all the wild special horses. The Grullo Dun Mustang in the Heartlands. Around where you meet Dino lady. The White Arabian at Lake Isabella (East Coast, wear warm clothes). The Brindle Arabian behind Waipiti reservation. Tiger Stripe Mustang down in the desert. And the Perlino Andalusian at the falls where Charlotte lives.
tbh I bought rdr2 on sale recently just because I've seen ppl playing it as a horse game I love the game, characters and story but sometimes when I'm riding around I just stop to look at the wild horses, they're soooo pretty and I love taming them too kjaskjnd

I never understood why the game didn't include dogs as companions! Like Cain follows camp around in story mode but that's about it. I want a dog and I'd love to get a cat too 😂 the animals are the best part imo I love just cowpokin around with my horses and can't help but wish I had a dog running with us!
I wish they had more bays in online. I have an Arabian irl but I don't like the look of them in game so I just use the thoroughbred but it's so slow for trail rides 😂
My husband has rdr2 for ps4 and I loved watching him play it, it felt like a movie. I also pointed out how good the horses are, the breeds look different, the coat colors are gorgeous. I have never seen a game with such detailed horses. When he got to the epilog and got the ranch I thought that might be a good place to just ignore the mission and play it like a horse game. Unfortunately since its for ps4 I can't get mods and I don't think I'm willing to spend that kind of money to get it on steam (don't think my pc could run it anyway)
The mod I want the most is one that'll let us have more than four horses in the stables. It's so not fair that the online game allows you to have more horses, but single-player is limited to four.
I wish console had mods like these! Especially the horse coat colours...or maybe, it would be nice if rockstar added the online horses and colours to story mode as well. I just want Arthur and a Criollo! I'm not sure anyone has made a mod for it, but it would be cool if someone made an arena mod with jumps/empty farm lots, to practice jumping and dressage work. But if not, I head to McFarlanes Ranch or one of the wooded areas and "practice" jumps over the fences/fallen logs, and good for making sharp turns/jumps 😂😂 console, the poor person horse game version!

@@usosweethe have you played GTA ? If yes, you can play RDR2 without a problem. There is no prostitution no nudity. It’s brutal, well, some deaths. For example you’re going to see people who have lost their head or sth like it. The story is not bad at all. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played! Gun violence, bad words and gore is the “bad” stuff. Hope you’ll get to experience it.

For anybody unaware, when u finish rdr2 it turns into a sandbox game, which means u can basically do whatever u want and ur not forced into any stories. This is great if u don’t like violence or don’t want 2 do the story in general haha. Still be careful tho, this doesn’t make it completely safe to play!

Funny, I JUST found out how to mod yesterday, after many past failed attempts I finally got it, cause I play the Epic Games version, making it hard to find a recent video on how to mod lol, glad I figured it out tho
Not sure if it's been said yet, but you don't have to be holding your weapons in your hand when you dismount your horse for the last trick! So long as they are on your person/weapon's wheel (aka they show up on your back when you dismount), you can still swap over to the saddle icon on both weapons and they will disappear all the same. It helps save a few seconds so you don't have to remount to hold your next gun ^^
One way to hide guns is to equip the ones showing on the saddle then stand close to your horse while unequipping them(shows the saddle image/empty slot on the wheel). They'll disappear since you are close but not on the horse. You can change it so that they're equipped but not showing after you get back in the saddle, but end the wheel on barehanded or they show again.
Forwarded this to my RDR2 brother who always beat his horses “on mistake”, just to teach him how to get the best out of this game. And to teach him, that punching his horses ain’t the best way..
I stole a splashed white paint with John Marston and named her Da Vinci. I like pretending like John has too do chores, hunt, and fish. Im also trying for 100% completion. So far, the paints are my favorites because of their build and demeanor. Aswell as their speed and acceleration is an par with fox trotters.
Saddly I'm xbox so I can't use any of these. Thank you for the video. And props to the makers of the mods. They are amazing. So if they can do it why can't rockstar? That way atleast console players can enjoy this too.

I did not even know I wanted any of this, but after reaching level 20 in most trades I finally roped and broke a horse, I pet it, and fed it, and took it to sell it, but couldn't online. If I can get another account I might try this, thank you. It would be awesome to have the home, and come and go as I want taking care of and selling horses.
01:50 in this part of the game you can still go back and find one gold bar at every location where goldbars were found earlier, including the burned out ruin of Braitwait manor. Just to add some cash..

In fact I finished the story and I am currently playing online and I just enjoy riding sometimes with nothing to do , and just switch mounts so that I feel that I care for all my horses. They do have their own personalities! Lol I live in the city so I usually say that after work, I’m going horseback riding - all my friends and coworkers know what that means: rdr2 time. A good percentage of the game is just the player riding on their horse to get to quest locations etc. It's more satisfying to have these mods installed to make it more immersive ☺️
I just bought red dead after wanting it for a while and I'm in love lol. I have to play on low graphics but even then, it's still a beautiful game.

@@AbigailPinehaven yeah its a great idea. There really isn't anything of the same quality. I like using it as a Mafia game aswell. You can extort people, technically money launder, gamble, intercept or steal cargos, steal money from gangs, do hits on bounties and other things.

I love this game so much. I really love how Rockstar made the horses like living things! Unlike RDR1 where the horse was just a form of transportation. Beechers hope and Guarma were and still are my favorite places to go with my horsie I’d have to glitch into Guarma but it’s worth it. (Hope I’m not spoiling anything lmao) The black horse with the white face marking looks suspiciously close to Micah Bells horse 👀.

I've just finished adding over 50 mods to my RDR2 game. Been playing on xbox for weeks doing a second playthrough to get 100% completion and your video of how to mod the game came up on TH-cam. So thank you for inspiring me to get the game on pc and modding it.

I'll admit, when my niece gave me the game (I didn't go online for 2 years) all I did was play it as a horse game and I love it that way to this day (4 years on)

Same here. I put so much effort into my account solo but gave up because I was sick of getting gakked by kids with aimbots while I was minding my own business :( rockstar doesnt do much about this issue either. They only care about gta.

I would love it if they added more horse scenarios and actions along with more horse breeds. For example add horse activities such as dressage, rodeo, etc. As well as newer horse breeds and newer coats. I would also love it if there were more tack and somewhat like how star stable, saddles boost things. Like a saddle that boosts jump height or a saddle that boosts speed. Mainly jump height, because I love jumping with my horses in game. Anyways- The main things I want are Horse activities as I mentioned at the beginning of this comment such as Rodeo, Dressage and more! For example Short Jumping competitions, more race challenges etc. I generally think this would be amazing.

My original reason for wanting to play RDR2 is because HORSES. You can ride HORSES.I actually looked up games that let you ride horses and they are woefully few. Now I play the game because it's just the incredible. And I need that dog companion mod.

a tip, if you can’t find a predator your looking for, watch your horse. She will tell you if you have found it, or need to keep looking.
Rdr2 is just a horse game with shotguns and dynamite and a hell lot of pinkertons

RDR1 was a life changing gaming experience for me. I thought they nailed it with horses. RDR2 took it to the next level and I love it. I’m on my second play through and I am just living in Chapter 2 being a horse trainer. Love this game!! Love to know so many gamers are out there loving their digital companions as much as me. 😂 Game on!
I hunt and train all the wild special horses. The Grullo Dun Mustang in the Heartlands. Around where you meet Dino lady. The White Arabian at Lake Isabella (East Coast, wear warm clothes). The Brindle Arabian behind Waipiti reservation. Tiger Stripe Mustang down in the desert. And the Perlino Andalusian at the falls where Charlotte lives.

I never understood why the game didn't include dogs as companions! Like Cain follows camp around in story mode but that's about it. I wish they had more bays in online. I have an Arabian irl but I don't like the look of them in game so I just use the thoroughbred but it's so slow for trail rides 😂

My husband has rdr2 for ps4 and I loved watching him play it, it felt like a movie. I also pointed out how good the horses are, the breeds look different, the coat colors are gorgeous. I have never seen a game with such detailed horses. When he got to the epilog and got the ranch I thought that might be a good place to just ignore the mission and play it like a horse game.
Unfortunately since its for ps4 I can't get mods and I don't think I'm willing to spend that kind of money to get it on steam (don't think my pc could run it anyway)
The mod I want the most is one that'll let us have more than four horses in the stables. It's so not fair that the online game allows you to have more horses, but single-player is limited to four.

I'm not sure anyone has made a mod for it, but it would be cool if someone made an arena mod with jumps/empty farm lots, to practice jumping and dressage work. But if not, I head to McFarlanes Ranch or one of the wooded areas and "practice" jumps over the fences/fallen logs, and good for making sharp turns/jumps 😂😂 console, the poor person horse game version!

@@usosweethe have you played GTA ? If yes, you can play RDR2 without a problem. There is no prostitution no nudity. It’s brutal, well, some deaths. For example you’re going to see people who have lost their head or sth like it. The story is not bad at all. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played! Gun violence, bad words and gore is the “bad” stuff. Hope you’ll get to experience it.

For anybody unaware, when u finish rdr2 it turns into a sandbox game, which means u can basically do whatever u want and ur not forced into any stories. This is great if u don’t like violence or don’t want 2 do the story in general haha. Still be careful tho, this doesn’t make it completely safe to play!
you can even skip the story (Like i have) and the only issue about people doing this is like role horses.

Funny, I JUST found out how to mod yesterday, after many past failed attempts I finally got it, cause I play the Epic Games version, making it hard to find a recent video on how to mod lol, glad I figured it out tho
Not sure if it's been said yet, but you don't have to be holding your weapons in your hand when you dismount your horse for the last trick! So long as they are on your person/weapon's wheel (aka they show up on your back when you dismount), you can still swap over to the saddle icon on both weapons and they will disappear all the same. It helps save a few seconds so you don't have to remount to hold your next gun ^^

One way to hide guns is to equip the ones showing on the saddle then stand close to your horse while unequipping them(shows the saddle image/empty slot on the wheel). They'll disappear since you are close but not on the horse. You can change it so that they're equipped but not showing after you get back in the saddle, but end the wheel on barehanded or they show again.
Bruh red dead IS a horse game! I was raised on battlefield and COD and now I log on to RDR2 and pet my horse in a stable for 2 hours straight 😂

I stole a splashed white paint with John Marston and named her Da Vinci. I like pretending like John has too do chores, hunt, and fish. Im also trying for 100% completion. So far, the paints are my favorites because of their build and demeanor. Aswell as their speed and acceleration is an par with fox trotters.

I did not even know I wanted any of this, but after reaching level 20 in most trades I finally roped and broke a horse, I pet it, and fed it, and took it to sell it, but couldn't online. If I can get another account I might try this, thank you. It would be awesome to have the home, and come and go as I want taking care of and selling horses.
