Sam 1st of all good to see you again. I like your genuine videos no tricks and say as the things are. Anyways about leveling for the best results from my personal experience is to go out at night and ran a torch on the lawn surface and it will perfectly show any bumps or dips you might have. Better then on the day light. Happy easter my friend.
Hey Dude, Happy Easter my friend, nice of you to drop by and thanks for the kind words! ☺🙏 I have never done that, sounds like it would work really well! I will definitely go out and try it during nighttime, awesome tip mate!
Is that normal for Sweden? In Greece, it is unusually warm with almost no rain...climate is going crazy. I hope it gets warmer so that you can get started soon 😊
We always get a setback in march usually, but every year it seems it's colder closer and closer to summer, crazy climate these days. Wish I was in Greece now! 😊
Hey mate, exactly! It´s only grass, not the end of the world, we already play soccer on the lawn and it looks awful 😅 but it´s a backyard, it´s supposed to be used, 100% agree with you!
Just found your channel. If you can even keep a good lawn in Sweden with your climate challenges, then I have no excuse to get mine sorted. Subscribed, thanks for the content!
Hey mate, for sure we have our challenges with the weather 😅🥶 Keep me posted on the state of your lawn 😉 Thanks for dropping by, and thanks for the sub, appreciate it 🙏
Yeah you're going to have to wait with that lawn :D. Here in The Netherlands the grass just stays green fortunately. Already have been able to do some seeding. I also got some limited experience with Tetraploid Rye from DLF. Compared to other Rye it willl grow bigger, faster & higher. Not sure about long term. Looking forward to your videos this season.
Hey Dude! Trying to make me jealous?! Well you succeeded😅 From what I could see late last season the biggest issue with the DLF seeds is that it´s not that dense, I think for best results I should have mixed in some other type into it as well. But we´ll see first if it survived at all, it´s not looking good so far for my entire lawn to be honest. Thanks for following along mate, really appreciate it 🙏
The whole video I was thinking what you mentioned at very end, maybe trying a different grass like bluegrass. Your grass looks amazing in the summer but then you have to look at brown for many months. Some of the cultivars around me in Chicago stay nearly a summer green all winter...as much as I hate the idea of seeding it, especially with little kids trying to use yard, I'm becoming convinced that in the long run it's the best way to go for a great look during long cold winters.
Hey Peter, I actually am considering some other kind of grass right now, looking at the lawn it doesn´t look too good, but we´ll see. We don´t really have to consider any grass being green over winter, we usually have between 3--5 feet of snow covering the entire lawn anyways so even if it´s green no one can see it :) I am actually looking at bluegrass since it is the type of grass that handles winter the best, but let´s see how the rye does first. Thanks for dropping by mate, appreciate it 🙏
Sam when are you making an update video about Masterlines seeded side with tetraploid seeds? Which meant to be a ,,better" plant with deep roots. Wonder how it coped with the harsh winters you have over there.
Will hopefully be in the next video, we just had a setback last week with a couple days of snow again, which stayed on the ground for a couple of days, this week we will be below 0 again. So hopefully by the time I record the next video I can show it. But a teaser for you mate, it´s not looking good 😅🤦♂️
@@SamsLawn haha nice 1. That will do me mate. I was going to get them for my lawn for a better shade tolerance as well but since I have not seen your update I bought a bag of MM50. Looking forward for it mate whenever thats gonna be. Its crazy in some countries right now is 30 degrees and you are having snow 🥶🥶
Hey Craig, hopefully it starts for both of us quickly :) I do like it but I would say that there are other brands that do the same job but are cheaper, Gardena always have a high price point on all of their equipment, at least over here in the EU. So I would first check if there are cheaper options. But as for the functionality itself it´s awesome, not having to manually rake the entire lawn is such a time saver.
Hey Mate, it´s callen K-dress, think it´s a swedish product, not sure it´s available outside of the Nordics. But try to find something similar, 60-70% sand and then natural minerals or compost, you could also mix it yourself, far better than just using sand.
Hey Wayne my man! Me neither, I think this works best, going to try to go more organic this year as well and staying away from pure sand is in the right direction i think :)

Hey Lucy, thank you so much, so fun to be back! But we had a setback today, -2 degrees and the lawn is covered in snow again.... Swedish spring 😅

I’m getting ready for lawn season here in Illinois. It’s coming quickly 🎉. You like your GARDENA Lawn and Leaf Collector?

Hi Sam, what are the material you said you use instead of sand? Cadris? I must mishear cause when I google it I don’t get a single result

I will never be on Only Sands either.
