I follow several TH-cam Channels, and in the areas I trap, we have no beavers & no hogs. But the two channels I so anxiously await for content to show up are you & ole Yawt Yawt. Great video. Great place to be setting traps. Love it dude.

I had that happen to me once. I put the trap back in the water with the muskrat and the rat opened the door and swam out😢

the rat was having a "Dammit Carl" moment. also posted on FB got my first animal today a nice beaver in a 12x12 cage trap.
I'm interested in how you did that. What did you use for bait? Cage traps only where I'm at and I have a spot with a bunch of beavers
@@jonathanmoore7781 i made a mud mound in the back of the trap and brushed it in really well i put castor in it and made a mock slide going in to the trap

Mr. Trapper J..may I suggest.. if you catch more muskrat, rub them on the entrances and just inside the hole you are setting mink traps in..if the mink smells "fresh" sign of muskrat it's more likely to investigate the hole..then wham-o!

Love to see the catches, being that my season has mostly been a bit less than eventful. Had something eat half the bait out of one of my DPs last night, bugger stopped eating just above the trigger... Loaded her up with the coon candy, guess we'll see whether the robber still has discipline tonight. Did release a fairly large kitty kitty from another dp nearby though...

You need to have all the beaver made into a full length fur coat, old school trappers jacket.
My friend caught 4 minks in a pond one-night years ago when Iowa had lots of mink and tons of rats. A mile long stream back then almost guaranteed a 100 rats in just a few days.
