Wow!! Great footage of that device - getting it up in the tree and then flying right back down by you!!!! I just ordered two of his antenna's last night and wanted to do a bit research about his antennas. One of my first POTA hunting on 2024-07-01 made contact - you were epic handling that pile up! This video further reinforces being happy about my purchase. He has great customer service so far!!!
@@KO4FSZ_ANTENNAS Got that baby up in the air and LOVE it!! The transformer is mounted about 17 feet above ground. The element runs 30 feet across the metal roof of my car port to another support and then angles back towards the house to a 40 foot fiberglass pole I have bolted to the chimney then back down towards the front of the house. I DO have a common mode choke installed in the coax six feet down from the transformer and a 13 foot counterpoise wire running down the support pole. This antenna is AMAZING and I'm glad I stumbled onto this video! It's pretty much my go-to antenna for HF now and I regularly run 1000+ watts through it with no issues. Thanks for making a GREAT, QUALITY antenna and keep up the good work! 73 from West Texas!!
KO4FSZ builds great antennas! I have two and very happy with them. I use one when doing POTA. KO4FSZ is scheduled to be at the Shelby Hamfest this year. Great video Dan. Thanks for posting. KE4GTQ
Looks like a great antenna and looking forward to the launcher video. My first and only QSO on 160m was when I tuned an 80m EFHW jut to see if I could.
I haven't opened the box yet to check, but I do beleive there is a weather seal. It's been through a few hard rainy storms since I put it up, so it would be a good time to look inside!
Really good vid & that's an impressive antenna; prbly gonna check it out; & ur launcher is pretty amazing, too; did wanna' say that over many years of practicing, Ive learned how to "launch" a line over treetops up to around 60' fairly easily, using a light string tied to a small angled rock, then after a few swings in a circular motion, releasing it underhanded, then pulling heavier support line(s) thru with string; of course a launcher wud streamline the process greatly!😂 73 from TN 😃🇺🇸
Made it. Probably get parts to build another sometime soon-ish and make a video about it. I didn't measure a thing when I made that one I used, just threw it together hoping it would work.
great review. was looking for 1.5 Kw end fed . I can wind core but looking for a case for stack cores. thank you for the link. he has what I am looking for for portable . I have DX commander DX 10 and DX 50 wire. want to have a few for different bands. like the coverage on 80 meters. I have a loaded 80 threw 10 meter one and does not cover the whole 80 meters. but only a 100 watt. would like to try end fed with 160 meters. super long . need more poles to get it up and lots of room. I have the wire. I may do a linked one so when at a park I can shorten for easer set up. 73's
Great video . I’ll definitely be in touch and give you some business. I have a question for you or anyone that wants to chime in . I can’t seem to get an an answer. I’m running a Bird 43 inline with my Icom 746 . When I have to use the internal tuner on the Icom , and the radio shows a 1.1:1 perfect match , and my Bird meter shows 5 to 7watts of reflect, depending on the band band -coming back from the antenna to the radio ,, where or what is soaking up that 5 to 7 watts ? Is the radio’s internal tuner designed to dissipate that ? I’ve wondered this for years but never asked anyone . Some bands are much more than 5 to 7 watts I would imagine , but my particular setup it’s not much

Wow. Looks great. Nice big cannons on that one.
Nice video Dan, I have great success with my KO4FSZ antenna!
You all right, dude. Great antenna set up.
Nice! I assume w/ the tuner you could also tune 6 mtrs. How is the weather proofing of the box? Thanks for sharing! 73.

Nice video om
Nice! Some information about your bazooka build plane?!
I love my MyAntenna EFMB 130ft. sloper. Same SWR results. Nicely done even with focus issue. KQ4KGB
Nice job 👍 W1FYG
Great video Dan. What amp are you using with your 7610? De W0HL

I also watched the video today and ordered the same product. This s.korea.
Thanks for your order
Hopefully it will help your signal strength ! 😁
Maybe I missed it, but what'd u say the total length of that antenna is?🤔 Thanks!😃🇺🇸
131 feet
@@WD4DAN thanks, enjoyed ur vid & glad u included CW portions on SWR checks, 73👍
Is that 150' of RG-8X? What brand of coax are you using? Did you have to trim the wire length at all?
Rg8x and the antenna wire comes pre tuned from KO4FSZ

Ok, the pumping part does look like it sucked. But, damn, that was effective!
Tell me about the rope bag/box. I understand the principle but where can I buy one?

21:33 signal reports are comical
Aren't they all? lol
Don't go to parks and hang your junk in trees. It gives all of us a bad rep.
Wasn't in a park, and not all parks are like that. My local state parks don't have a problem with it. National WMAs it's a no no.
