You shouldn't begin the conversation berating the person you are speaking to. This guy was nice and it's only down to his unusual level of restraint that you were able to find out. Even the nicest officers are going to feel defensive when you come at them with a barrage of loaded questions and a self righteous attitude. Even some of us, who are on your side, dont like you very much after the opening 20 seconds of a conversation is nothing but accusatiatory questioning. It's not productive. Part of this is supposed to involve building bridges, being firm about your rights, but also making it possible for the officers you are dealing with to see things from your point of view if they can. Try to remember that.

He would claim against the Chief Constable of Humberside Police not the officer. For them to claim they need to prove that the Police used the act unlawfully and that harm was suffered as a result.
You actually need their permission. There's NO right to film in there. But, if you look like you're gonna cause mayhem if told to stop, they will just let you get on with it. Most police seem to be grudgingly allowing it now. Although, they CAN chuck you out of the station ....if you get a stroppy sausage. But until then...enjoy the ride. 😎

If the sign on the car was correct it would include the word alleged, and the time of the traffic stop it is only an allegation, so why is the driver being punished by having the vehicle impounded when no actual conviction has been made against that driver?
This is nothing more than to embarrass the driver over what could possibly be a clerical error, no reason to do this whatsoever. They are there to uphold the law not to tell every one what someone may have done wrong.
Never believe a police officer's word, even if they sound sincere, convincing and genuine, most of the time they're just telling you what you need and want to hear. It's sad that we as members of the public have to educate the police on the law and letting them know not to abuse it, when they should already know the law and how to use is appropriately and correctly.
