I noticed far too many adults in their 20's-30's suffering 'toddler palate' as they dine on carb-sugar based food Monday-Sunday in rotation. That's the idea of American exported junk food and their mega factories producing ultra processed food ... keep people & families hooked and coming back for more. It was even worse 20 years+ ago when everything was fried in trans fats and high street junk food was actually cheap, so people ate even more of it and more often. Sorry for the gloom and doom, but people need to see through McDonald's clean modern facade and take note of their predatory marketing towards younger people.
I've pretty much given up on McDonald's, food is invariably cold by the time you get it even if you go to the restaurant. The only time I visit the drive thru now is for a sausage n egg mcmuffin and a coffee on the way to a job. When the food is hot it's not bad at all but it just seems to be a gamble these days. I go to Burger King now and don't mind waiting for 5-10 minutes for my order to be cooked.

I watched not expecting much, and I wasn't disappointed. Small portions of food made to look like cale for money. That it is ready to eat is the only bonus. Cold 'hot food' should always be returned and ask for replacement. So value for money to me would be a bag of sausage rolls and pies from 'The Oven' at Morrisons, a house salad and 2 custard tarts. More food and at a lower price. Just because it is a special, doesn't men it is any good or cheap.
I take your point, and certainly you can get more food (and tastier) food from the supermarket… Morrisons are probably the best in my opinion for that kind of ready to eat food.
The "50th birthday" refers to the first UK restaurant. They had been going for many, many years in the states prior to this. Their actual 50th year as a company was in the '90s

yes a salad go in to aldi get it for 90p in a big plastic tub if you take it there is still profit selling these bulking to 3 items give them more profit a little off each. some of the items must be all of 20 or 30p if lucky. I got three burgers were filling enough but when I went to get again were not on offer and really there is were the better offer is. the rest not so much they could easy include a drink in this offer. as well as ice cream. or even a 2 cookies

It must have something to do with the oil MacDonalds uses,as the fries if they are not freshly cooked go hard as a rock in the States,never soggy.Breakfast sandwiches is the only thing I have had at Micky’Ds along with fries in years,and it’s over 5 years since I had breakfast there.😊
Mcd fries have a window of about 2 minutes between being too hot to eat and going soggy here. If you get them during that golden time happy days, but it doesn’t happen that often!
Greenager has grown a lot since I last saw her. She is looking very elegant. Not too bad for £9 and a freebie. I have never tried their Donuts. Looks lovely there. Enjoy your time with your family. Used to go to Mcd's a lot pre-covid saver menu and the Metro vouchers and the big breakfast. They have stopped all of them i now go else-wear when i#m out and about. They are now having problems i'm not surprised.
I think they have recognised that the public don't see them as that cheap option any more, hence the panic to bring this offer back so soon after stopping it!
You were lucky, I had the side salad yesterday and they didn't supply the dressing. I went back to the counter to enquire and eventually an employee came out to me and said they didn't have any. Why they couldn't have told me, when the meal was delivered to my table, I do not know. My full selection was 3 cheeseburgers with extra onions, fries, salad, and apple pie. Not bad for £6.
The dressing is a strange one. If you emptied the whole sachet in to the salad it’d be like a soup! I’d have just put the salad into the burgers in your situation I guess. Sounds like a decent enough lunch for £6 though 🙂

When you do three for three, you would think the items they have would be divisible by three? I remember going into a McDonald's for the first time roughly 50 years ago! They had two price signs, one eat in one eat out, they didn't take long to disappear. The best sign though was if you're not served within 5 minutes of taking your order, you get it free, that sign came down pretty quick to!
Those kind of "get your food in 5 mins or get it free" deals might work in the US where the work ethic is possibly stronger than it might be in our McD staff... it'd be a sure fire way to lose money here though ha ha!!

I was surprised by how tasty the veggie strips were, couldn't quite put my finger on the exact geographic location of the sauce - like a slightly chilli pesto.
Not been in McD for some time as a New Gregg's opened up which is a nicer place to relax in. Also a new subway. It's always empty ,tried it once, very good but costly. Compared to others. KfC a waste of time as no hot drinks and I like my cappuccino . When I do use McD I now buy the cheapest . 2. 99p burgers. Probably a bit more now. And a cappuccino. That's about the same price as Spoons or Greggs cost wise..

It's been a stunning couple of days here on the sunny South Coast ! Can't argue with the pricing on this deal - just a shame they don't have the mini McFlurry or a small drink in the deal
The menu items are not worth more than £1 so it's not really a saving. Also for delivery customer, this same deal changes to 3 for £4 (25% increase) on top of the regular service charge and delivery fee which is charged separately, just a shameless rip off.
I don't live close enough to have McDelivery from any branch, so I didn't know about that. Sure you can argue that the products are worth more than £1 - but the point is that they do retail at more than that generally, so this does represent a saving,

I think you are right with Big Macs. I did check the ingredients on the apple pie and it does have some cinnamon and nutmeng, but very minimal, thankfully for me !

Greeno you know I love MacDonald's but I do despair at some of their clown brain ideas; this being one of them. The 3 for 3 menu is so limited, it is ludicrous. They are also wielding out the drum kit because currently Happy Meals are £1.99. I remember when a Happy Meal was genuinely priced at £1.99. And I will never forgive their non-existent effort of celebrating their 50th anniversary/birthday. Remember back in my childhood, McDonalds regular sodas were 50p. They had an offer on the back of bus tickets "free soda with ANY purchase." All us schoolkids used to pack there at the weekends and by a 20p ice cream and claim our free drink, much to the annoyance of the management, who told us we had to buy a burger. Of course, legally, they were wrong - and we stated Ice Creams were "any purchase." Some time later, the offer was changed to "with the purchases of any McDonalds's burger." I should imagine it wasn't just us. McDonalds up and down the country must have been filled with schoolkids at the weekends paying 20p for an Ice Cream and free soda. LOL 🙂

I think the doughnut might only be availale if you have the McD app, and you scan it it the time of ordering perhaps. 3 for £4 - was that on delivery, or in store - I did hear that they were charging more for delivery orders
McD's in trouble and losing money so they're looking at repricing products to claw back customers as they've openly admitted to overpricing. These offers possibly the start of a remarketing structure , just a case of watch this space. Those on a budget experiencing financial difficulties will enjoy treating their children but need to understand how bad this food is for little people. I suppose companies only want to have their businesses registered in Guernsey for tax reasons, but when it comes to the logisitics of actually operating a branch of their business there it's less interesting?

When you do three for three, you would think the items they have would be divisible by three? I remember going into a McDonald's for the first time roughly 50 years ago! They had two price signs, one eat in one eat out, they didn't take long to disappear. The best sign though was if you're not served within 5 minutes of taking your order, you get it free, that sign came down pretty quick to!
Those kind of "get your food in 5 mins or get it free" deals might work in the US where the work ethic is possibly stronger than it might be in our McD staff... it'd be a sure fire way to lose money here though ha ha!!

@@Deadman1957TEB As I understand it McD do pay a little more than minimum wage - but it's not always a pleasant environment to work in so the extra 50p an hour won't make that much difference in staff retention of good people.

I was surprised by how tasty the veggie strips were, couldn't quite put my finger on the exact geographic location of the sauce - like a slightly chilli pesto.

Not been in McD for some time as a New Gregg's opened up which is a nicer place to relax in. Also a new subway. It's always empty ,tried it once, very good but costly. Compared to others. KfC a waste of time as no hot drinks and I like my cappuccino . When I do use McD I now buy the cheapest . 2. 99p burgers. Probably a bit more now. And a cappuccino. That's about the same price as Spoons or Greggs cost wise..

I think the double cheeseburger is nicer (and cheaper) than two plain burgers.
@@DadgeCityTriple Cheeseburger is the best burger that McDonald's do, and it's reasonably priced and filling. Not sure why but the combination of shedloads of cheese and three beef patties is unbeatable.

The vegetarian options are a little sad, to be fair. Salad, dippers and fries. Plant based burger could have been added to the mix.
I don't think they have a veggie or plant based item in their value range - and being a short lived promotion I guess they considered it wasn't worth them designing one especially.

The menu items are not worth more than £1 so it's not really a saving. Also for delivery customer, this same deal changes to 3 for £4 (25% increase) on top of the regular service charge and delivery fee which is charged separately, just a shameless rip off.
I don't live close enough to have McDelivery from any branch, so I didn't know about that. Sure you can argue that the products are worth more than £1 - but the point is that they do retail at more than that generally, so this does represent a saving,

Greeno you know I love MacDonald's but I do despair at some of their clown brain ideas; this being one of them. The 3 for 3 menu is so limited, it is ludicrous. They are also wielding out the drum kit because currently Happy Meals are £1.99. I remember when a Happy Meal was genuinely priced at £1.99. And I will never forgive their non-existent effort of celebrating their 50th anniversary/birthday. All they did was re-hash old ideas with the one single new addition of a "Birthday Doughnut" - Apologies for spelling doughnut correctly. 😝

Never apologise for correct spelling or grammar - nice to see someone doing things properly :-) The 50th birthday thing is done with the smallest fanfare ever. The menu for the 3 for £3 is limited indeed, should have a drink and mini mcflurry on there at least.
Remember back in my childhood, McDonalds regular sodas were 50p. They had an offer on the back of bus tickets "free soda with ANY purchase." All us schoolkids used to pack there at the weekends and by a 20p ice cream and claim our free drink, much to the annoyance of the management, who told us we had to buy a burger. Of course, legally, they were wrong - and we stated Ice Creams were "any purchase." Some time later, the offer was changed to "with the purchases of any McDonalds's burger." I should imagine it wasn't just us. McDonalds up and down the country must have been filled with schoolkids at the weekends paying 20p for an Ice Cream and free soda. LOL 🙂

I think the doughnut might only be availale if you have the McD app, and you scan it it the time of ordering perhaps. 3 for £4 - was that on delivery, or in store - I did hear that they were charging more for delivery orders

McD's in trouble and losing money so they're looking at repricing products to claw back customers as they've openly admitted to overpricing.
These offers possibly the start of a remarketing structure , just a case of watch this space.

I think it would have been a good idea for them to put the small drink into the deal - it's probably the item they make the most margin on anyway. No sign of any ice cream or mini Mcflurry either, which I would definitely have enjoyed in that weather!
