    I wonder how strong Witty would be if he could make himself play boring and positional chess when it’s best. He goes for sacrifices even when he knows they don’t really work, makes me wonder how strong he could be if he was able to slow things down.

    • @francescoferro4532
      @francescoferro4532 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Nah bro, a real strong player calculates perfectly before going for the sacrificies. You have to be patient in chess, planning a way to get trough the opponent army

    • @0tiS
      @0tiS ปีที่แล้ว +47

      @@francescoferro4532 If you look at Witty's other videos, he clearly has strong calculation skills, he just plays on instinct when he KNOWS he shouldn't. He is obviously not master strength but if he made better decisions he could easily jump 1-200 Elo overnight.

      You're right but I don't think he needs to. That's his identity as a chess player and it's what makes chess more entertaining for someone like him. Similar to emory tate who could've undeniably been a grandmaster if it wasn't for his persistence to always win and never go for a draw.
      They find these game style beautiful and would like to keep on winning or losing with these risks just because

    • @0tiS
      @0tiS ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raicyceprine8953 I play the same way, I should know. It is a blessing and a curse, I have beautiful games but there's a lot of games where things crumble after a failed attack. I wouldn't change anything about my playstyle but I'm always curious how strong I would be as a more well-rounded player.

    Honestly I think witty has a lot of potential, from the first time seeing his videos I was already impressed by his calculating skills. As well as his creativity in moves every time he makes a move, it’s completely unexpected. But his creativity is also one of his problem since his is way too aggressive and tries to go for sacrifices that is creative but not necessarily good.

    Witty plays similarly to Tal,not exactly the same but similar because Mikhail Tal sacrifices his pieces to open up and make huge weakness on the opponent's position...
    But some of his sacrifices are questionable because they are actually just blunders if the opponent knows how to play carefully because of the weaknesses.
    Witty's aggressive,he just has to be careful with his position becaude when he sacrifice the knight,it gave black a huge advantage by giving up the h file

    In the position at 7:17 with the king on e7, if it’s black to move or whit plays something like a4 or Rb1, I believe white can mate with Nf3!+ if Kf2, the best defense, then Rxg2!+, it doesn’t matter which piece the king takes or if it tries to run away, it results in mate. I’ll have to analyze it later, what an amazing game!
