You got alot to do with this build. Must be great to know that when you finally complete this project how it will improve your lives and the children. Will look forward to the progress you make. Best wishes to all concerned x
What a project this is!! I'm a general builder and I take my hat off to you for doing this on your own!! Good luck with all! I'm looking forward to following along.
Regarding ‘not using’ the crushed concrete as a good sub base (from previous videos), in my experience crushed concrete can sometimes make a good sub base on its own, but often it is not well enough graded from the large to fine particle sizes, in which case we will blind over it with (25 to 50mm of) type 1 to ‘tighten up’ the top. Thought this might be an option for you? But difficult to tell exactly from watching a video and not knowing the volumes involved.
Starting a petition to get a big humpty dumpty sticker for humpty and that whenever you start humpty you have to cut the music to the humpty dumpty song... just to keep things interesting
Always good to see your videos, keep it up! 🙋♂️ Btw, are you currently seeking video editors or a thumbnail designer to enhance viewers, retention, or CTR? If yes, May I send you a previous work sample?
It wasn't the Council it was what presumably Tim and Jo wanted to do, they applied for a conversion not a replacement house. Quite a few people do go for a replacement building instead.
@@johncolley3317 They got Class Q permission yes but then they put in a planning application to convert when there were other options available. You have to factor in the steel frame is pretty valuable.
I really can’t understand why you want to live in a cow shed! Calling it a barn won’t change what it is no matter what do. It’s going to always look like a shed.
It isn't for everyone, you are right in that a modern cowshed will always be less desirible than a 200 yr old stone barn. But demand is always high so plenty of people clearly like them!

I hope you are going to feature the crusher when it is done.
That Dumper truck has been a godsend. I seem to recall that it came with the farm!
Wrong
Tim bought it in an auction for about £3500
Yes I bought it from the previous owner in his dispersal sale. It's been great!
That concrete breaker is amazing
I’m amazed to see how the new house is built into and around the barn 😮😅🤔👍
A great start to the job, it’s going to be busy busy down there, lambs, piglets and a big build , but ye are up to it.
Are you going to need to retrofit a dpc on the walls?
Good joob on the clearing out
Please use eye protection because of ark eye and any fragment of dust grit or flying objects, your sight is precious
What will you be using to compact the Type 1 to ensure it is properly compacted?

I have read online the matieral in the sub-base does have to be approved by Building Control or a Building Inspector, along with the insulation.

Gosh, there must be £1,000 worth of Road kerbs there.
😂i would be tempted to save those kerb stones they would useful for building a retaining on the steeep sides of the ford
Unfortunately most were well bonded with concrete, did consider it though.
Demo, demo, demo. 👍
How long will it take to get building regs approval for the barn???
We just want the crusher! Bring it on 😂
Carl the Crusher? He better be 6ft 6in and 20 stone.😃

use epoxy paint on the steels
I struggle to see why the planners wanted to retain what will be left of the barn - given the roof will come off. Madness IMHO.

Wish videos were longer...
I wish the days were longer! 👍
Is this youtube lark as much of an earner for you as I suspect? I mean I'm plainly jealous, but crikey.
Unfortunately not, 10 years of DIY renovation and selling all we had is how this is happening.
@@TheRestorationCouple well you deserve the dream life after all your hard work

NOTE: DESPITE the title, NO concrete crushing is done…. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
It was a question.
Patreon blah blah blah

Never underestimate someone's ability to judge someone else's dream.
🤦👍
I don't think they have much choice. Planning permission on farmland is very restrictive, so the barn is the only place that could be converted.
