    Mr. P, I am now on video number 68 in the "AP Physics 1" series. I just want to say it is a joy to watch you editing skills improve over the time you have done this. I can see how you constently improve your videos, via editing that is.

    • @FlippingPhysics
      @FlippingPhysics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, looks like you are watching a lot of my videos. It must be interesting to see the video improvement. And to think I am still making videos...
      My assumption is that you are taking an algebra-based physics course. If you are taking a calculus-based course, you should switch to my AP Physics C series.

      @@FlippingPhysics Na, in my College PHY 201 is a algebra-based physics. PHY 202 is the calculus-based course.

    I don’t fully understand what you reallly mean when you say the normal force is always a push? Does push imply it being a contact force? that’s what I first thought but that seems redundant. Can anybody explain?

    • @FlippingPhysics
      @FlippingPhysics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Saying a normal force is perpendicular to a surface is not enough. In the example in this video the force normal could be up or down, however, the surface always pushes on the object, therefore the force normal is up. Imagine pushing a book against a ceiling. In that case the surface would push down on the book and the force normal will be down. Hope that helps!

    What's the difference between gravity and force of gravity? Or are they the same thing?

    • @FlippingPhysics
      @FlippingPhysics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gravity is an unclear term. Does the person mean acceleration due to gravity? Do they mean the force of gravity? Personally, I never use the term "gravity" by itself.

    • @austin16377
      @austin16377 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlippingPhysics Ah. I see. Thanks! By the way, your method of teaching physics is a lot more interesting than that of Khan Academy. Without your channel, I would have been bored with physics. Thanks!!!
      Can you confirm if my reasoning is correct?
      If you drop an object at a height, the object accelerates downward at a constant rate due to gravity. Because we defined force as the ability to accelerate an object, gravity must also be a force.
