- This plays on one of the most pain in the ass areas of the entire game. Expect an entire horde of slogs, sloggies, and other nasty arseholes.
I'm not sure if it was this area where you have to avoid your glukkon being killed by slogs/the meatgrinder, but I'm sure most of you can remember that one. It involved a slig, lots of shouting, and losing that glukkon over and over again....
Bonewerks obviously features many bone grinders, and is where the mudokkons are ground up to make delicious bone meal for Soulstorm Brew. Buy some today! - เกม
What an absolutely incredible soundtrack! Even simplistic it is composed so well. It is ominous, perilous, and creepy, and the faint sounds of workwheels in the background fit so well :3
KILL EMMM(cough laff)
Dr.philg: HEY COME ERE
Slug:iiii
Dr.philg: kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill em kill an kill em best part
no the best part is how from that description alone i know EXACTLY what screen you're talking about
I miss falling rock sound effects XD
The amount of bone dust in the entire area of Bonewerkz makes me think about how many Mudokon bones were transported to this place. It gives you a erie feeling as well and it makes you think about the story. After the fall of Rupterfarms, the Glukkons decided to make a drink instead of meat products. So they kept continuing using Mudokons as the main priority and using the bones and tears to make the drink known as Soulstorm Brew. They couldn't sell it so they gave it to the Mudokons, makes them sick and using them in the factory itself.
A fascinating story on 2 disks.
My most favourite level in the entire game. It's cool looking at the bone dunes in the distance.
It's a trestiment to a soundtrack when your mind is flooded with memories of the area of the game its from
Yeah I remember that bit with the shouting glukkon, that was probably the most difficult glukkon puzzle of the game.
com eer, kille emm!!
help!! stay ther!! uhuahuahua.
the most used commands as glukon :D
Oddworld always had an amazing soundtrack and an even more amazing art style to match. Shame modern day video games can't look like Abe's: Exoddus.
Actually, most music from abe's exoddus gives me the zoiks! Particularly this track, the death music (which was from the first game), and the necrum music will keep me under the covers all night! XD This game deserves it's weight in gold, then the gold's weight in dollars, it's that good.
@Kevooi
yeah i quiksave often (too often sometimes lol), and i'm quite keen to spotting secrets, although one that almost escaped me for the 3rd or 4th time was the one right after you go down into this room i think it's at the end of slig barracks and there are two mudokons and there is laughing gas and flying sligs and a roll thingy and no place to jump up to, but the next screen has a flying slig and an extremely elusive secret in the ground marked only by a slight hill of sand hiding debris
Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em Kill, Em
This sounds like bones hitting eachother I guess. Thumbs up for this video! And Schemilix!
This part almost made me destroy my PC with anger. After I got all the way through to the last lift where the grinders start all the way at the top of the screen; I thought I was the cleverest person in the world for quick-saving the game just before the slogs stopped. Woe was me.
I actually managed to pull it off a week or two ago. I was so happy. In fact, I managed to beat the game with the good ending for the first ever time. With 275 Mudokons rescued and no casualties at. I'm proud of accomplishing that.
To be honest, I found Dripik to be the easiest, Aslik wasn't so bad. It's just a matter of getting past all those Sligs. But with Phleg, I had poor timing with constantly shouting Kill Em' to have the hordes of Slogs killed. I eventually got the hang of it.
The coolest scene is in boneworkz
The one with all the dust piled up, down under that secret? remember?
At first I was so surprised that Oddworld games had such silent "sfx compilation" music for levels/stages, but after all, it fits the best. Dark and gloomy and creepy.
You better believe it! That won't stop it from being creepy, tough, which I like!
Bonewerkz... SO MANY DRILLS,AND MINES,AND SLIGS,AND SLOGS, Who puts LANDMINES under about 12 bone drills
my most favourite part of the game :)
I've never managed to beat Director Phleg either. That's without a doubt one of the hardest sections in the whole game. And to this day, I've never managed to do it.
I've started a new playthrough this week and today I've just reached the start of Slig Barracks. I'm dreading going to Bonewerkz because of the Executive Office there.
Those trains are awesome.
Something is so diabolical with this song, though; I mean, it's not like violins are going "Dunn dunn dunnnn!" or any of that, but it just sounds creepy... yuck, Bonewerkz was pretty scary, what with the background stuff (that I've never figured out what it's supposed to be, unless it's ground up bone matter, which, in that case, is nasty) and the music, Bonewerkz is simply a sinister, vile place to be... and I love it!
@Tommygun1135 You forgot Soulstorm from the Brewery. And yes , his name is Soulstorm.
Ha! That most have been extremely annoying! Luckly I didn't befall the same fate! I guess reading the manual pays off. ;D
The Bonewerkz is such a boring please. I'm always glad I finish this hole area.
Kina like a hazardous Black water workplace with unknown hierarchy motion going on...
@mortemdrummer
Secrets are easy to find: look for the piles of Soulstorm Brew bottles.
And quicksave often.
I hated the fleeches, my only nightmare, had nothing against Bonewerkz , it was a pain but also a challenge, I personally loved the nature, the necrum. Mostly liked the scrab lands I think it was mudak or watever it was. Though I like paramites more. But it's disappointing that the took out the elum and the elum bell from all the other episodes (I don't knowing about strangers wrath never ayes it). Is it normal that in the abed odyssey you can't really save frequently.
oh yeah!! I love every track!
not the same without bricks falling
yo, how did you rip this? i'm trying to DJ this track and i can't find a way to extract audio or even an OST release for this game ANYWHERE!
This video is from 2009, I think I found it on a torrent way back then. Your best bet is to rip this video's audio, but I understand the quality won't be great.
Yeah, same here (except with a ps2). It turns out that when you re spawn at a quick save, the slig automatically shoots. Well, I saved in front of him, so I had to redo the friggin' level!!!! LOL XD soooo glad it's over!!!
Top Notch 🙏
Yeah that 'DUH dun, bom... *Things eat you*'
Yeah, classic death music.
@vincent834 Sligs and slogs and bonedrills, oh my!
The music says Hap Hazardous work space...
I tried that so many times. It's just a matter of timing and... not standing in front of the slig silly. He ends up pushing himself so far back he gets you.
@Schemilix Yes, I was generalising. Flame wars don't happen everywhere. I've never seen one in videos from Folklore or, say, Genji (but then again, these are underrated). The thing is, it's almost inevitable to see two guys fighting over nothing whenever I bump into a Super Street Fighter 4 or a Metal Gear Solid video. It only annoys me because they occupy some much space I can't see the good comments and I have to keep cycling through.
I didn;t even discover level restart for ages... Imagine MY frustration.
Where the magic happens ^^
I thought phleg was hard as well, but aslik was IMPOSSIBLE!!! I somehow got past it, but looking back on it, I don't know how! XD
@Ocelotlikespie True, true. I wanted to try out Folklore. I see what you mean but I find flame wars hilarious.
@DrNGinfan1 yeeaah... i think that happened to me too once.. i can't quite remember everything in detail since it was years ago, but i do remember the -2 thing..
Oddworld is working on a Oddworld Abe's new'n tasty, it is a remake of Abe's oddysee, maybe they will get that peacefull ambiance again?
@Tommygun1135 My brain made it *is proud of his bariniee :D *
@Schemilix Yes Sligs And Slogs and Bonedrills
@shinra18 You worked at Arbie's?
BUS….TED!!!
I forget which one was which but Aslik is a hilarious name.
@MONOxHAND Not sure. try on the oddworld website.
@Get2daKraken fucking awesome
God, this area SUCKED! The music was cool, but that dumb slig kept shooting me by accident? and I've heard that death music about a thousand times! LOL still a godly game, thanks for uploading!
i have yet to get all 300 mudokons. in abes odyssey, the last time i played i got 98 MO FOing mudokons. SO PISSED OFF!
last time i played exodus i got about 260 or somethin... and i searched nearly every screen for secrets!!! stumped me...
@MegaYoshitsune DO IT!
@DreamyGhost1492 Yes that's true PlayStation and PC games have the best music from all
I played this game 10 hours straight a few times.
@smartlamppost
Well for me it reminds me of every poorly run, horrible, ham-fisted business i've ever worked for :P
Sometimes you don't need to be a genius to be good at evil, just really really dumb.
I've played through this game more times than I can remember and this level doesn't prove that much of a bother to me now. However I still can't get 300 I get about 295 or something like that with no deaths
I see the difference between classic and new games clearly.
Classic game comments page:
User A: "This game is marvelous. The developers were really outstanding!"
User B: "I agree. Truly, this is a phenomenal piece of work."
New next-gen PS3 comments page:
User A: "It's the lag! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!"
User B: "DA LAG NO, FUQ U N00B. I HERD DIQ WUZ GUD YE!"
Heh. People need to calm down. Everybody shouts and has flame wars instead of commenting on the actual thing.
@Ocelotlikespie I think you're generalising. For a start most new games are aimed at young male audiences and tend to be about action etc. etc. Look at some new games that have a bit of plot, a dash of wry humour, and plenty of challenging gameplay, you'll see a difference. FF for example, everything is fine as long as fans of the other games learn to keep out. I'v never seen such a flsme war started on SMT (shin megami tensei, excellent series) and that's releasing games quite frequently.
uuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuu
KILL EM!!!!!
@DrNGinfan1
showaow!
Some pull off wonderful art styles, but yes many go for a sort of semi-realism that gets a bit dull.
@antonius351 ok maybe ur right
Where the hell can i buy some of this fuckin´ brew. eBay? XD
