You have a really nice system of getting those all packaged up for your market stand! Mr Wayna is on a roll helping out! You two do so good together! Thanks Renea & Mr. Wayna!
Renee you need a premeasured scoop so there's no guessing when packing your bags. Would save you a TON of time. Freeze dried skittles are SOO addicting!!!
I'm ordering my Harvest Right freeze dryer this evening with your link. Can't wait to start using it! Thanks for this, and please give us more freeze drying ideas.
I absolutely love my Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. My grandchildren love the candies, but they love the freeze dried vegetables so much more. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
Something that works really well is the cereal storage containers. The medium trays fit inside and allows you to pour food from the tray into the container and then you have the pour spout for moving foods into bags, jars etc. Enjoying your teamwork freeze drying videos. Looking forward to seeing more of them. May God bless you and yours. Please take care. Bye for now.
I have a large freeze dryer and im wondering if you have the candy mode with yours? It makes freeze drying candy super easy! Its skips the freezing mode and goes directly to the drying mode! Saves a lot of time! Skittles cn be done in 4-5 hours. Anything gummy takes up to 12 hours
Wow those tray are really big ; I have the medium size freeze dryer, I love it , herbs dried in it is the best 😀. Love watching you and Jon work together 😀
Hi Renea and John! I’m glad to see you got the Big Daddy back and it’s working great. Freeze dried Skittles and gummy bears are so good. Have a blessed day!
what I did for a big funnel is used a 5 gal premo water jug cut the top off above the handle for the funnel then i used the botom half with the hande to catch the water from the freeze dryer. and it fits in ball jars to .
Freeze dried Skittles are awesome! I've bought them at craft fairs before, and that price you're charging is very reasonable and comparable to what I've paid.
I watch a lot of people who use a freeze dryer but I have seen the big daddy version. Oh my goodness. That one is huge. I will buy as soon as me and my family start our new lives.
I have the large unit it has candy mode. Only takes about three hours for skittles and about nine hours for gummies. There’s an easy step-by-step in the booklet that came with my free dryer
I kept saying what is your flexible bucket. I saw yours on a previous video and I went to tractor supply the next day and got two. One for FD and one for the yard as I’m getting older and they’re easier to carry. Love them.
Alway good to see you and Mr. Wayna on you guys always make the day better, you inspired me to try my hand at a market shop when we move to Pennsylvania
I’ve had my freeze dryer just shy of a year. I’ve never attempted to do candy. I didn’t know know you could run candy on a regular cycle, I thought you had to use the candy mode. That’s what concerned me, now that I know you can run on the regular mode, I want to try it 😊. Thank you! I would love to see more freeze drying videos.
Good morning from sunny Florida! So happy to be able to comment! I watch all your videos and hey everyone, try to allow the ads to play. I believe it helps the TH-cam channel. Great seeing Renea and Mr. Wayna! Have a blessed day! Love your videos! 🦋🙏💕🥰
I want to get the XL I have the large right now. I LOVE how you and John used the cement blocks to hold that beast!! And there is NO big surprise your basement is as clean as up stairs!!! I am glad your lil farm stand works well for the 2 of you. I just got my new board in for my fd yesterday so HOPEFULLY I can get these 4 trays out of my freezer plus do up more of what is needed. I want to try to do some meat for jar meals that is not just burger. But you know how you feel you got a 4-5 k paper weight when your FD is not working! Glad you got yours back! Not sure how you got that up and down the stairs Great job!!!!
Hello Nessa! Glad you stopped by. Let me tell you, we had an army of men come to help haul this beast up and down the stairs. Yes, we love the blocks to hold it up.
Hi Renee and John from Cupar, Scotland. Love watching your videos. Can I ask what is the benefit of freeze drying sweets? Mine would never last long enough even to get to the freeze dryer 😂
Did I miss the part where they mentioned the PROPER settings for gummy bears? I bought those exact ones they had and mine didn't do anything other than get ruined. REally curious what the right time and temp is.
Pour candy in your big daddy bowl and use a measuring cup to scoop and pour into your bags. That way your hands don't touch the candy. Although we all know your hands are clean😊
This was the video I was waiting for! 8 out of 10 Dentists say freeze dried Skittles are better for your teeth! HA! They look like pool balls! Are you stripes or solids? Man, I have to hook mine (large) up. I bought the 20 amp the outlets, have to Do the bread run. At least very least, impress my elementary school friend, who laughs at me for buying it! HA! Thanks folks! Do more vids like this, if you want to!
Maybe someone already said this but why didn’t you choose candy mode? I do skittles for 2 hrs at 145 candy mode, and bears around 12 hrs 150 candy mode. I do gummy stuff by themselves, try the target brand peach rings candy mode 150 12-14 hrs do not preheat your trays, they’ll sell like crazy😂 ( oh , stretch them when putting them on the trays)
René, I made the same mistake the first time I did candy also. Go watch D-I-Y Freeze Dry she does lots of candies. Also I learned from her that you can double stack the skittles per tray.
I understand that, but why not just bag them as they are and sell them? Is it for the extended shelf life or taste. Thats what I was in question about.
@LittleVillageHomestead I'm sure it's delicious. What I meant is how does it taste? Are they hollow once dried? I simply don't understand. I've never heard of freeze drying candy and what it does to the original candy.
I love this video! It shows a husband and wife so happy together and working together! God bless you both!

I would love to watch you freeze dry more food. Love your channel!

Dear Friend, why wold you freeze dry these 2 candies?? I’m stumped by this. Please explain 💕🙏🙏

@jillcarlson2076 Yes Jill you are correct that letting the ads run helps the YT channel. That's how they get paid.❤😊

@@LittleVillageHomestead I will keep that idea when I get my xl seems to be very good idea.
I would love to see more freez drying
Renae, when you freeze dry milk do you use whole, 2% or skim? Wondering what would work best, I haven't freeze dried milk yet!!
Freeze dried skittles are yum!
A canning funnel into the bags would work just as good as the expensive ones.
Hey Renee and Mr .Wayna!!!
I would get a scoop so it's easier to bag the candy!!
A few of "you shoulds" in the comments, geeze. Love the content. I learn something from each one (humor in your videos is an added bonus!).
Perhaps you could use a measuring cup to fill your bags. It might be faster/easier. 😊
Hi Renee and John from Cupar, Scotland. Love watching your videos. Can I ask what is the benefit of freeze drying sweets? Mine would never last long enough even to get to the freeze dryer 😂
❤️ love you guys ❤thank you for all you do for us🍀
Loved seeing the freeze drying video
Did I miss the part where they mentioned the PROPER settings for gummy bears? I bought those exact ones they had and mine didn't do anything other than get ruined. REally curious what the right time and temp is.
Can you freeze dry, sweet peas?
What an interesting video ! Love it!
Awesome!
Would love to have a freeze dryer just have to find the space.
Just curious would you send to Grandville and how much if do ?❤
Curious, can you freeze dry different foods in same session
Pour candy in your big daddy bowl and use a measuring cup to scoop and pour into your bags. That way your hands don't touch the candy. Although we all know your hands are clean😊
Your canning funnel might work?
I’m curious if you see an increase in your utility bill from the freeze dryer.

Your canning funnel will work😊
Good Morning ☀️ ❤
Good morning!
Use your canning funnel for those Skittles!!!👍👍🤔🤔😆😆

John should do more tutorials.
Hello Beautiful
How much does your freeze dried candies weigh? And do you charge per Oz?
I sell freeze dried skittles for 1.00 per ounce. My bags are 8 oz. and cost 8.00
@@LittleVillageHomestead alright ! Thank you so much your the best hugs
I love that big daddy and the smaller one to one day maybe lol
Renea, do you have to have a Health Inspected Certification (or whatever it is called) to sell your food products where you live?
Farmers markets and homegoods do not require that in many states. Just ingredients label with address info required.
@@StoptheChaos7 - thx
Just curious , why don't you use the candy mode?
René, did you not put it into candy mode. It normally will take only about 4 hours to do the candy.
René, I made the same mistake the first time I did candy also. Go watch D-I-Y Freeze Dry she does lots of candies. Also I learned from her that you can double stack the skittles per tray.
Good morning
Good Morning
Can you do a meat. Freeze dried video
I don’t have room for a freeze dryer or I’d have one,
Why do you freeze dry candy? For the extended shelf life, or does it change the flavor or something?😊
She’s freeze drying for her market stand😊
I understand that, but why not just bag them as they are and sell them? Is it for the extended shelf life or taste. Thats what I was in question about.
They become crunchy and most people liked that
Thank you
Why not use your canning funnel ? It has a wide mouth.
8.00$ for that little bag?
Freeze dried foods are not cheap neither is the machine.
I didn’t know wow!
$8 Seems a little pricey.
Price of the original candy, cost of freeze drying/power plus labor makes it an excellent price.
Why freeze dry candy?
Because it is delicious, and I sell it like mad in my market stand.
@LittleVillageHomestead I'm sure it's delicious. What I meant is how does it taste? Are they hollow once dried? I simply don't understand. I've never heard of freeze drying candy and what it does to the original candy.
Wouldn’t the gummy bears loose their shape?
Yes they puff up.
Skittles are very bad for you
Thats ok they are delicious.
Every once in a while is okay. We all deserve a sweet treat once in a while.
This just seems like too much work and waiting just to set it up to start the actual process.
Not really, you turn the machine on and let the chamber cool for 15 minutes then you are ready to freeze dry foods.
I feel foolish….naive. Why do you freeze dry candy ?
it is delicious. Google freeze dried candy.
Super curious... what is the point of freeze drying gummie bears and skittles? What is the end product like?
