when I come in from Birmingham I always use 285. Moreland avenue gets to narrow up near I-20. there is a Hazmat and thru truck restriction as you mentioned
Interesting trip. Nice to learn how different companies do things. I was never around trucking. My experience was with bus lines. You all most always had different bus unless you were on a charter. Have a good nights rest. Be safe on your way home.
STAY with this UNION company you have a great contract with free health benefits/pension & UNION protection…Being at the bottom of the seniority list may suck a little but believe me it will get easier over time ..
I’m a driver with a non-union company, about to switch companies to buy a truck. I would never join a union company. It is a personal choice, and not for everyone.
Memphis is rough brother. That hotel mmmm good. There is no line haul dispatch there and you are on your own to deal with LR. The dysfunction in Memphis will put $$ in your pocket. Be safe. Airways Blvd is a beautiful area. That big complex outside the terminal use to be DRMO a defense reutilization facility. There use to be a military base in Millington, it’s part of Naval Personnel Command now. 🇺🇸🍺
That Mack you are driving sounds pretty sweet! By far better than the 2014 Freightliner Cascadias I drive. So ABF does not compensate you for doing a pre trip? Thanks so much for uploading these videos! Thank you for your service!
Hey brother I been watching your videos for a while now and I appreciate your honesty on ABF and working for them. My name is SSG Jackson and I’m transitioning out and I’m in the CSP for ABF and I was wondering on a few things? 1. Did you sign a contract? 2. How long is your contract? 3. Can you do a few videos about city drivers if you know some guys that can give more insight on how they work and scheduling for them? Thanks again for the videos and I do look forward to working for them. Take care
Yes you do need to sign as contract to cover the cost of the TMAP Training. The contract is for 1 year. I don't have very much information on what it's like for city drivers, so I can't help you much there, unfortunately.
They’re the best in the industry in my opinion. If u ever receive a CDL and work for them shortly after. Please retire from there. You will regret leaving them as one driver recently quit after working there 10 years. Its a company you dont wanna leave. Any Union company is an automatic, you better stay. It sucks being new but I promise you it’ll pay off in 5-10 years
I work out of Dallas which is considered to be one of our larger breakbulk locations. However, ABF as a whole is a smaller operation compared to other companies like FedEx Freight.
@thearmyvet just from experience some words of advice always get the name of the person you speak too so if this situation happens again atleast you have a name to give so they can handle the situation without you being the middle man. This is something ive learned from working at fedex ground it does help build trust i guess. Because they will know your not lying someone told you this your proof is the name of the person you spoke with also try to get the time you spoke with them also location might speed up the process of them getting too a conclusion faster. Hope this helps be safe out there.
hey bud trust me you would get more views if u let the driving part play vs speeding it up, im new to your videos and i was loving it until i saw the fast forwarding n i instantly clicked off.
I disagree and I’m subscribing because he does this. Boring and slow highway time does nothing, it’s the deeper content that matters to me. Keep up the great editing…I enjoy the FF on the road.
Y’all he’s just a troll, don’t antagonize it. I’ve already explained to him that we’re slip seat and I don’t have time to detail every random tractor that I get. Besides, him commenting on every video helps the TH-cam algorithm 😁
I like life at FedEx Freight. Non union but great pay. Worked my way up in senority and it's paid off.
I've notice at Estes express from Trucking through life, You can take your time getting to the yard.
My Dad drove for Yellow Freight for 30 years. He always waited for them to call him.

Hey buds, new here from Canada.
You have to take 285 around Atlanta. I drive there about every day
Hey Logan, my son works in bham. Maybe you know him. Good luck to you son. I subscribed because of that.
Good job if you will run you will make good money.

Enjoyed your time lapse highway trips. What software do you use for that edit?
I use the old Windows 7 video editor. With some slight tweaking, it works great.
I wouldn't wrap the straps up. The dock workers let the doors open then have no way to pull the doors closed
Yeah phones and tablets get screen burn, thats why I never use mine as a long trip gps.
Gotta love all the scabs in here.
What brand of phone mounts do you use ?
I use RAM mounts. They’re pricey but have been great! Very durable and they handle being put on and off daily just fine.
Ok Sweet thanks yeah been having problems with mine sticking being a slip seat driver
Hello, just a quick question is ABF a good starter company for new cdl graduates? William

No pay for pre trip but… it’s required. Soooo??? Interesting.

I got a question for you you have a drop-in load like in your carriers went to New York
What gps do you use besides your phone?
What up Teamster…
My dad use to work ther
You're past 31 days.,. If you feel like waiting on freight? Make it work for you. I never thought about the company.
how does abf work where you work you said its a small operation
I work out of Dallas which is considered to be one of our larger breakbulk locations. However, ABF as a whole is a smaller operation compared to other companies like FedEx Freight.
You have 24 hrs with a clc holder
You get out of work at 5:00am
I get off work whatever time it is when I get to where I’m going.
Why do you cover the back window?
In the summer, it helps keep the cab cooler by blocking some of the sun light. I like the privacy as well.
@@thearmyvettrucker5410 oh got it, thank you for that.

You will never figure abf
Figure out
No way I would be recording myself hooking up talking about other things. Focus on your hook and stop before something bad happens.
get creative keep videos 20 min less and for everyvideo you can touch a different topic

Didn’t they teach you in the Army how to keep a truck clean ??? Yours always looks horrible filthy 😖😖😖🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are his number 1 fan
Tell that to the other drivers and yard guys at ABF. They trash these trucks. It’s really sad.
Not gonna lie you comment this all the time go clean it for him boy
