*Extra Dark Sea Tips* Tip 1: Don't get your ship stuck. The brig hit box is surprisingly big and i had just barely went in between 3 islands and could not turn back at all. Made me lose 50 dark sealed chests. Tip 2: Watch your stamina and be careful when boarding your ship. Your stamina is very important for swimming and most people use a lot of it by dashing while carrying chests. One single slip into water with low stamina can cost the entire run (unless you use water breathing potions). Tip 3: Armor pieces made of iron, steel, etc, can protect you from lightning strikes. Wear it on vanity and it can potentially save your life from lightning strikes. (I might be wrong on this haven't tested yet but might as well). Tip 4: Build Into defence and agility. Speed and survivability are the main priorities to adventuring the dark sea. These stats will help against lightning strikes, atlantean, pretty much anything that can kill you. You can also use swim speed effect to get to your ship through water easily. (If you want to fight atlantean just switch to your main build with still some agility to outrun them). Tip 5: Infinite wall climb technique. You can climb walls easily and faster by T jumping while climbing and in shift lock facing away from the wall, then quickly face back to the wall once you T jumped to grab onto it again, repeat this until you reach the top. (Also use mobility moves like leap spell, teleport weapons, etc). Tip 6: Hide under structures to get rid of water poisoning. You don't need to bathe to get rid of water poisoning. Tip 7: Try not to waste too much time on islands. Check all around the island with your ship. If an island is too tall, and especially if theres multiple tall islands, it might not be worth it. Some islands are just not worth the time. Try to find sirens, they always have 3 dark chests on their islands. Tip 8: Use cargo to repair your ship. You can place cargo on your ship before going into the dark sea, you can ask enizor to repair the ship using them. (this is op as a villain as it costs nothing to get cargo). Tip 9: Use clear sight potion. Very good for finding islands, and seeing stuff at dark in general. Tip 10: When hearing sirens, move your camera around more to easily understand which direction they are. (Headphones are also really helpful) Bonus tip: Don't get too greedy, always stay on your guard and focus on following every tip. About 30+ dark sealed chests is considered a success. But if you're really confident and following every tip out there, you can literally LIVE in the dark sea. Happy sailing. (Also try to use Luck IV potion while unloading your ship for more chance of getting exotic scrolls, the most valuable dark sea item).
About the armor set one, it won't negate the damage from lightning, but it WILL save your limbs (You can lose your limbs which will not allow you to use some skills).
you can also add this as tip 11 or tip 3.1 in emergency of actually losing an armor piece or a limb due to a lightning strike just unload and reload ur character again by refreshing ur vanity. your lost limb will be regenerated and that might save ur life (although the bleeding effect would still be there so becareful of that.)
about tip 1, ships take minor knockback from melee attacks, I used this ti get the ship unstuck from a cauldron which was glitched inside the brig's cabin
i learned the stamina thing a hard way, climbed the high pillar from the bottom that have some water reached over the head, my character keep slipped (like can’t climb up at all) so i skip that island with enough stamina to reach the ship then i got swept away 50m from the ship by a big wave the moment i was near the ship and sunk to the bottom by stamina loss, forgot that i have water breathing pots so well ended the run
I hear that lowering your graphics can also remove the rain. I remember I couldn't find shelter from the water poisoning and lost a lot of chests. Ugh...
Lightning is the most dangerous thing in the dark sea. If ur unlucky enough (ur name is xane) red lightning can hit you which repeats for 3 times (1800 damage) which can make you lose 50+ chests
For dark sea personally I see just being a weapons build to be the most effective. As a mage it feels just kinda hard to compete with the insane effects of the sirens bow + Slowness gel. Mage is still really good for dark sea and I really wish the people running beserker the best of luck
I run light mage with 51 pow 1.6k hp 210 agility 108 attack speed No attack size and intensity 3 warding 2 insanity And i outendlag the atlanteans, and with the 200 agility buff, i blitz through every high asf islands and actually doable in insanity 2 range albeit kinda difficult but its rewarding so ehhh
As a warlord I struggle even with spamming cannon fist and my 120 attack speed halberd which is actually a pretty powerful build cause they just keep flinching and can’t fight back
A trick I learned is to not have luck so shit that you are in layer 4 and get struck by lightning but then get water poisening then try to go to the back of the boat to bathe but then get struck by lightning again causing you to while paralyzed fall out of the boat because the game doesn’t think you're solid or something and die out in the water while trying to get back to the boat. This was spoken from personal experience.
Tall islands are always more rewarding, but a big hastle to climb over and over. And if you get an Atlantean up there, you have very little space to run sometimes so bring invis for sure.
i found like 4 tall sand islands before, got 10 out of those island but took a long time looting (like 20 minutes of climbing again and again), 0 insanity zone btw
Stormcaller is an overall much better option compared to the siren bow as it is more accessable to other classes, and has more weapon arts that will come out in the future. Also bring cargo, 20-40 or more if you are willing to take the time placing it. But make sure to keep the crates as orginized as you can, as it helps save space, don't randomly place the crates on the deck, its sloppy, and reduces the amount of crates you can bring. Also be sure to have some sort of exploration kit, with gems that give things like climbing speed or swimming speed, some of the islands are so tall that it is physically impossible to climb to the top without any sort of increases to your movement, and if you end up in the water, you need to be able to treverse through the water fast enough to get on either dry land or the ship your bringing with you, it is possible to make it back up to the surface if you sink to the bottom of the sea, but you need to have enough air and be able to swim fast enough to get out of the water before something like a shark or a wave or a whirlpool catches you. Revealing potions are also really useful, as some islands are tough to locate items on, even more so when insanity starts to build up on you. If you see an island with a beach, explore the beach as much as you can, as islands in the dark sea with beaches have a higher chance at things like pearls, golden pearls, and colossal clams spawning, other items such as stormsalts show up as well.
@@Raijin550 I learned that a couple days ago yeah, the animation does lett you regenerate some stamina. However, this only works for classes with magic, any others would have no access to the spell and will need stuff like the climbing kits I mentioned.
“You need warding” Actually, funny little glitch I found, remember how eating insanity 2 pie let you live in the dark sea before update? I have one Atlantean piece on me and went into the dark sea, didn’t even notice going past layer 0 until I saw an Atlantean ship
The guide is great and all but i have a slightly different problem. Crashes. Constant game crashes. Almost every single time i go to the dark sea i only get to layer 1 and then my game crashes and i loose all my dark sealed chests. This. Hurts. So. Much.
Did followed, got 50 chests after 6 hours in Dark Sea The only thing i didnt do was using slowness gel because i was a ice sailor back then,my shot wasn't able to hit them and my bow only did 95 dmg (120 w/ power focus) so invis potion carried the looting expedition 3 healing (2 tier 3 and 1 tier 4) saved my ass from lvl 370 iron leg/sailor atlantean and lvl 290 iron/poison atlantean worth it. will go to dark sea again
I’ve done it again, with better improvements. 50 chests again, but under 4 hours I swear, those slowness 3 gel carries hard against Atlanteans in range 2-3 who still runs like a trackstar **with or without** slowness 3 😭😭😭
im p sure that it says that insanity 5 is uncurable via warding, so you just have to deal with the insanity. no matter how much warding you can get, i think you cant remove it
I got struck by lightning 3 times one after the other with no time off but somehow survived with 13k health? Like my ship took the damage 3 times but I didnt?
Many times was I badly hurt by lightning. If you get armor break instead of limb loss, then just toggle your hair to make the sleeve come back. If you get lucky, like I did which is a very rare occasion, the lightning can hit a passive atlantean. I had this happen a few times, it's incredibly helpful. Once it even brought a mutant down to some 100 health.
Do you recommend using Siren Bow even if you're not a weapon build? I'm a Sand Warlock, which are two things that really don't mix well with Dark Sea mechanics.
I give up with tip the dark sea cause I always die to some bug, or in general some annoying thing happens. I have: Died to water poisoning since I couldn’t use brig bath Randomly crashed (3 times) Been eaten by a white eyes on land Had all my chests despawn Had a darkness tornado spawn basically on my ship, and a poison one in front (both were barely visible) A lesser mutated Atlantean split into 3 and nearly killed me And I’m sure there is more I forgot. It’s just so annoying because the game is so buggy, but why should I have to suffer because of that?
@@CreamDothat’s not how it works. Atlantean brigs don’t despawn so once you are locked on they will chase you forever till you leave the dark sea. You have to fight them and only sink it. After that run
its actually very easy to deal with them if you're willing to take a risk: as with every npc ship, the the atlantean brig will stop functioning completely if the captain is aggro'd/hit so you can basically 'disarm' ships by boarding them and hitting the captain. this will come at a risk of the entire crew running at you but you can just cliff cheese them (oh and note sometimes it will bug out and the ship will continue to function despite the captain getting off)
