@@rambledogs2012 funnily enough watching it back this aft and I noticed it wasn't a fault with the glasses, it was that ruddy swan feather quill that pushed it out😏😁
Nice video Karl. Love these easy going meandering subjects. Laughed when your lens popped out. Reminded me when I was riding my motorbike as part of the tour de Yorkshire and riding into the finish in Leeds centre, had my flip front crash helmet open and had my shades on riding in looking cool, with thousands of people Cheering and banging on the hoardings, I was the only one in sight, when my bloody lens popped out of my shades, and it was noticed by the bloke with the loudest voice and had been in the pub most of the afternoon. Talk about killing the moment😎
Great video Karl. Lovely spot. I was particularly intrigued by Raf’s origami boat, like you, I thought it must let water in. Was also intrigued by your fishnet tights that I spotted whilst you were going through the tunnel. Looking forward to your review of those 👍🤣.
Haha I wear sports leggings with shorts a lot in summer. They feel freer than trousers and whilst I'd prefer to be bare legged, the leggings keep the little biting bugs from giving me grief 😁
This video reminded just why the Chesterfield canal is to date my favourite stretch of water. I shall there bright and early the weekend dropping in at shaw bridge. Oh a Nd Jarl, treat yourself to some bolle sunglasses 😎
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner honestly mate there are that many models It’s mind blowing. Amazon as normal is the place to go to. I wore the bolle golf models before I needed prescription shades. Not so cheap but brilliant 🤩

Hi, quick question: Could you perhaps make a video testing how well the story kayak tracks/handles without the bottom fin attached? It would be nice to know if it was still usable in places where you risk hitting the bottom a bit. Thanks:)
I can but I kind of already have. I used it without the skeg in last week's community camp and paddle video. Also when I was on Selby canal last year with Pebbles when it was weeded over, I took the skeg out then. If they don't tell you what you want to know, let me know 👍👍
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Well i watched it, and all you said there was that you removed it. But in that video where you got the bike with you in the kayak you talk about it a bit more, and confirmed that it gets a bit unstable and drifty without it. So my question is answered:)
@@Alfahippie I'd forgotten about the bike one! Yeah it did drift to the right a little but I think that was due to the weight of the bike. As far as paddling is concerned, if your technique is balanced and constant it tracks straight enough 👍😁
I am really enjoying your videos, I haven’t been Kayaking yet but plan to have a go, and inflatable seems a good idea, can you tell me why you can’t paddle over weeds, I thought it would just move out of the way (sorry for beginner question) and second question, how do you know when there is too much weed, and when it has gone ? Is it just a case of going for a look?
Hi Louise 😊 Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying what I'm doing. In weedy waters the skeg has a habit of getting caught on and dragging weed, also the paddle too - it just makes for very hard going. By and large July to October tends to be when it's at its worst.

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner I launched from 1 of the 3 laybys right at the waters edge about a mile from the far end of the lake the opposite end to the sailing club so 3/4 of the lake I'd like to do end to end once I've had more practice and it's much cooler.. the departure was easy as it was just before 7am when we hit the water so like glass total opposite on the return journey though 🤣 its beautiful up there gonna do derwentwater water next time I go up hopefully that will be in a week or 2🤞🏼 give me shout if you're heading up I'd be happy to meet up and take a cruise with you if you like.. I aim to get up there most weekends as I live in my van and it's my favourite place in the country . I do plan on buying a sup and the aquamarine tomahawk once I've saved up a bit .
There's not an awful lot in it. More recently I've been using the Spinera because it's my newest. If I was doing something a bit more long distance I'd like pick the Story over The Brent or The Ironing Board, but other than that...
