Fireside Chat by the Gaslight (with MASTERMIND promotional video)

This is a track I wrote about the neurodivergent experience in a work context. It's largely to raise awareness about what it's like at a subjective level to navigate neurotypical "professional" environments. For "high-masking", "high-functioning" individuals, few organisations are designed to nurture or support them, and that can have substantial impacts on even "successful" people if they hit a situation which is incomprehensible to them.
Unemployment for neurodivergent adults runs at least as high as 30-40% which is three times the rate for people with disability, and eight times the rate for people without disability. Suicidality is significantly over-represented in neurodiverse groups, and it's something which could be improved significantly with understanding and compassion.
One way to overcome the double empathy problem is to talk about it - so this is my attempt to share the perspective. It's not comfortable or nice or cool, but neither is managing neurodivergent challenges in an allistic world.
